Chapter 1164: Invincible Acts

Proofreader: Papatonks

Rumble~

Lightning snaked through the clouds with a low rumble, like the growl of a beast. The sky turned white in the distance. That was where the god of the Sword Star Empire, Baili Yutian was in seclusion.

Even with the public square drowned in battle and killing, the powerful explosions left the people deafened. Zhuo Fan still stood straight on the scaffold, his eyes fixed on the thunder and lightning, waiting along with Baili Jingwei.

With a draconic roar, Danqing Shen struck, turning the thousands of experts in front to floating ashes. With music, Zither Sword King’s Seven Notes Obscure Sword turned his enemies into mush. Wine Sword Immortal spurted wine, unleashing a firestorm that left nothing behind.

The three worked together to stop the endless flood of soldiers, looking grave. They knew Zhuo Fan was there, but they uttered no complaint. They knew kings went for kings and generals against generals. The Dark Demon Lord’s opponent had yet to come.

Rumble!

A purple lightning flared and Qiao’er stepped in front of Bali Yuyu. Bali Yuyu blocked, making it a draw.

Glaring at the purple-haired girl, Bali Yuyu patted.

[Where did the punk find such a weird expert, so young and so abnormally strong? I was thinking of throwing the fight with this girl, for his sake.]

[It’s clear now that I was overthinking things. The girl is so ruthless that me going easy will get me killed.]

[Curses, didn’t the punk tell his people to go easy on me? Humph, he forgot everything then!]

“Sister Yu!”

The purple girl giggled, teasing, “It’s been a while, but you’re still as strong.”

Ugh!

Bali Yuyu gave her a long look, “And you’re…”

“Forgot me already? And you even faked being my mother.”

“Qiao’er!”

Bali Yuyu started, her eyes wide, “You’re all grown up and so strong too? Just like your old man, inhuman.”

[I never was a human though.]

Qiao’er snickered to herself, “Sister Yu, we had a good time back then and always considered you one of us. The empire is done for so why not join us?”

“Stop spouting nonsense, the empire won’t fall…”

Bali Yuyu flared, then frowned in worry and hesitation. She was of Baili. The others could betray, but for her to switch sides out of the blue, she’d feel guilty. The Patriarch might have been harsh on her, but he was never cruel. How could she betray him without a good reason?

Qiao’er smiled, “Fine, since you haven’t made up your mind, I won’t force you. Once the empire falls, why not stay with us?”

“Hey, girlie, wake up! Our empire’s armies have you surrounded. Worry about…”

“Are those your armies?” Qiao’er cut her off, pointing.

Bali Yuyu looked over to find a shocking scene, “W-what’s going on?”

Bali’s Sword Kings were all on the ground, battered and wounded. Murong Lie’s side held them with a cold stare. In merely minutes, the result between the two sides was in, an overwhelming victory.

Bali Yuyu stared dumbly.

[Why are Devil Palace’s people so strong?]

“Sister Yu, over the last century, besides me and brother helping father as Dharma Kings, those three coots have been doing nothing but being in seclusion to learn the sword with father, ignoring everything else.”

Qiao’er cocked her head, “Think about it, what kind of people are they really? Stuck together every day testing their sword skills and getting dads’ hints, their power soared. They’re now stronger than even a Sword King. I picked you as my opponent just so those geezers wouldn’t hurt you. I’ve been easy on you already, he-he-he…”

Bali Yuyu’s face twitched, “You went easy?”

“Of course, why do you think you’re still standing there?”

“Ugh, fine.”

Feeling sweat trickling down, Bali Yuyu figured out the truth and felt like she aged then and there.

[The new replaces the old.]

[That same cute child turned out to be going easy on me…]

The emperor, Baili Jingshi was dumbstruck, slumping in his throne.

[It’s all over. All Sword Kings…]

Baili Jingwei gave him a look then clenched his fists, waiting as his eyes refused to give up.

Bam!

With the last explosion, Shangguan Feiyun fell among the other Sword Kings of the empire. Shangguan Feixiong and Murong Lie walked up, looking down on them.

Ouyang Changqing chuckled, pointing at Baili Jingtian, “What’s wrong? Now you know how even a hundred years isn’t too late for a gentleman’s revenge, Lone Arm Sword King!”

“Just kill me already!” Baili Jingtian huffed.

Ouyang Changqing sneered. Shangguan Feixiong stared at Shangguan Feiyun, “Feiyun, you betrayed the clan and it’s my duty as the elder to take you back and be punished!”

“I have nothing to say to you.” Shangguan Feiyun closed his eyes, his fists still clenched, his scarred and bloody face desolate.

Shangguan Feixiong cupped his hands, “People, leave Shangguan Feiyun to me. The rest can be Devil Palace’s captives and yours to do what you like.”

They all nodded.

Thunder exploded just as they were about to be taken in, from far in the distance.

A flash of purple passed and a violent surge spread over the battlefield.

“T-that’s…” They all shuddered at the familiar pressure.

Baili Jingwei lit up, cackling, “Ha-ha-ha, finally! Our patron god is here! Zhuo Fan, Devil Palace is finished!”

Whoosh!

The purple glow flew up like a lightning dragon, dyeing the entire sky in purple. A thunderstorm began brewing above, sending its pressure on all below.

“Invincible Sword Baili Yutian is still alive?”

“Patriarch!”

Murong Lie shouted, while Baili Yuyun’s side was overjoyed, hope at victory restored.

As long as the Patriarch remained, the empire endured.

Danqing Shen was fending of the army when he looked grave at the purple glow.

The Invincible Sword hadn’t been seen for a century and was thought to be dead.

[Now he makes his appearance. This is bad, but…]

Many turned to Zhuo Fan, hopeful.

Bam!

Murong Lie ignored everything and shot at the purple glow with battle spirit, “Invincible Sword, the best in the world! After a hundred years, I’ve come to challenge you after the last defeat!”

“We as well!”

The others ignored the wounded Sword Kings and followed Murong Lie into the sky. Their blazing thirst for battle blinding. Even Qiao’er ended up going, Bali Yuyu not stopping her.

Everyone else, blinked in stunned silence.

[Do they think seven together can defeat Patriarch?]

[No, they don’t care about winning, only fighting. But what’s the point in fighting a losing battle?]

The Sword Kings looked at the seven and began to understand the mystery of the strong…

Whoosh!

The purple glow, passed through the seven and slammed into the center of the square, revealing a thin armor, a cape and an aged face. His eyes stared like daggers, the strongest, the Invincible Sword…

Bang~

The subsequent thunderclaps made the seven pummel to the ground as they trailed blood. They groaned and coughed more blood, slumping in their own blood…
