Chapter 598: Battle of the Gods

It was two hours after the appearance of the Altars of the Gods.

More and more players were gathering at the 100 locations where the Altars of the Gods had spawned.

The Battle of the Gods was very popular, and many streamers and reporters were guarding around the 100 Altars of the Gods. They were going to prepare to use the War of the Gods to gain more popularity.

Even some directors had to come close to the locations to find suitable shots. A group of videographers stood at different angles shooting at what was happening.

The location of the Altar where Ling Chen was was not that far from the Royal Qin City.

That was why there were plenty of players and NPCs here.

Some of them were even on the Four Sacred Leaderboards.

At this point, no players knew that the Altars of the Gods were organized by Jiang Feng. If the Divines, Infernals faction, or King Zhou’s NPC followers knew that the Altars of the Gods were Jiang Feng’s designs, they probably would not even come.

Because it was pointless even if they fought for it, other than changing factions and joining the Shifters faction.

Ling Chen waited next to the Altar of the Gods and scanned at the innumerable players among the crowd as the edge of his lips twitched. He was extremely speechless. “Damn it, there are so many people here, it’s like packed sardines in a can. No, I need to ask my sis to bring a group of generals from the Shifter faction, or I wouldn’t even be able to grab the altar!”

“Yo! Isn’t this Young Master Ling? Isn’t your in-law the Shifter Emperor? And you care that much about an Altar of the Gods?” Just as Ling Chen was being speechless, a group of people walked toward him.

The young man leading them was someone around the same age as Ling Chen called Murong Aosong. He was from the same school as Ling Chen and was also from a rich family. He would work against Ling Chen whenever he had the opportunity to do so.

When he saw Murong Aosong, Ling Chen frowned and said coldly, “Because I like it. So, what?”

Murong Aosong glanced at Xia Ranfei who was distancing herself from Ling Chen and then he said with a smile, “Fine. As long as you’re happy. But let’s see if you can still be so happy in a few minutes.”

Before Murong Aosong left, he gave Xia Ranfei another glance. Xia Ranfei’s lips and eyebrow were slightly raised.

When Ling Chen saw that Murong Aosong was looking at Xia Ranfei, he quickly stood in front of her and looked at Murong Aosong coldly.

“Ahahaha….” Murong Aosong laughed when he saw Ling Chen staring at him like that and walked to the side.

Whoosh! Boom!

At this time, a light streaked through the sky and landed in front of Ling Chen.

“Hm?”

Ling Chen was shocked by the explosion and quickly looked at the thing that landed in front of him.

He then saw Jiang Fan slowly standing up from a position where he was kneeling on one knee and his hand on the floor with his hair flying all around.

The way that he appeared was very cool. Especially his short and cute figure that instantly stole the hearts of many female players that were present.

“Whoa! What a cute little guy! Whose the kid is this?”

“Damn, does a kid need to appear like that? So high profile!”

“Hehe, he is the Shifter Emperor’s rubbish son. The way that he appeared was only to show off,” When Murong Aosong saw that everyone’s eyes were on Jiang Fan so he said enviously.

“Haha, Nephew!” When Ling Chen saw Jiang Fan, he joyfully went over and hugged him, and then began to give him a hug here and a pinch there.

“Nice to meet you, Uncle,” When Jiang Fan left Ling Chen’s hug, he said with a happy smile while showing his dimples.

Ling Chen then looked behind him and then looked at the sky, then asked curiously, “Where is your mom?”

Jiang Fan shrugged, “My dad asked my mom to go over, saying that I alone can deal with this.”

“My in-law is such a cheapskate. If I had known, I wouldn’t have let my big sis marry him,” Ling Chen said unhappily.

Since he entered the game, he had looked for Jiang Feng and Ling Feiyu for many things.

However, Jiang Feng would always end the conversation by telling him that “if he wanted to become strong, he can’t depend on others and have to depend on himself.”

“Uncle, my daddy is not a cheapskate. But I am here now, right? I can help you!” Jiang Fan said to Ling Chen in his baby voice.

Ling Chen then scanned at Jiang Fan and then gave his head a pat and said, “It’s okay Little Fan. In one more minute, the Battle of the Gods will begin. You should leave soon because I can’t protect you later!”

At this stage, all the players did not know how powerful Jiang Fan was as no one could see his stats.

However, their guess was that even if he had some powerful skills or the equipment that Jiang Feng had given him, it could not change the fact that he was rubbish. That was because everyone believed that he was rubbish thanks to his visible stats when he had just been born.

Only those that interacted with Jiang Fan a lot would know how powerful he truly was.

“Alright,” Jiang Fan nodded and stood behind Ling Chen quietly without saying anything more.

“There are ten seconds left. Prepare yourselves. As long as any five of us can get up to the Altar, we must take that chance to become a god!” Just when Ling Chen and Jiang Fan were still talking, many of the nearby teams had already taken out their weapons and were staring at the 30-meter tall Altar of the Gods.

The Altar was still being surrounded by a white screen, but many of the players had already quietly begun the countdown in their mind.

Ling Chen, who was standing under the altar, took out a sword from his inventory and stared at the Altar of the Gods.

Jiang Fan was probably the only one that was the calmest.

He did not even take out his weapon. He scanned his surroundings as he blinked his pair of beautiful eyes, with a smile on his lips.

“3! 2! 1! Attack!”

As one of the players finished his countdown, the light on the Altar of the Gods had disappeared.

And it was at this moment that Jiang Fan slapped at Ling Chen’s shoulder and sent him onto the altar.

“Sword Fourteen!”

Next, he immediately used a skill that he had just learned recently.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

It was at this moment that all the players that were holding a sword unleashed dozens of Sword Chi, attacking themselves.

And it was also at this time that Jiang Fan slowly floated into the air.

He would guide the Sword Chis with his pair of chubby hands to attack the thousands of people here.

“Oh damn! Seriously?!”

Ling Chen, who had almost reached the Altar turned and looked at Jiang Fan, and then looked at the players that had all fallen to the ground. He was so surprised that he could not close his mouth.

Murong Aosong had also been attacked by the Sword Chis and lost quite a bit of health. He yelled out loudly and angrily, “Kill that little bastard! Stop Ling Chen from taking the Altar of the Gods!”

The surrounding players around him heard what he said, and all understood the threat that Jiang Fan was presenting. They all attacked Jiang Fan, ready to kill him first.

In the Shifter Emperor’s Palace, Jiang Feng had just returned from leveling up and was looking at the stream together with Ling Feiyu in his arms.

When Ling Feiyu saw thousands of players rushing toward their son, he said to Jiang Feng worriedly, “Can Little Fan defend against so many attacks? Maybe you should go help Little Fan and my younger brother.”

Jiang Fan patted Ling Feiyu’s shoulder and said confidently, “Don’t worry. If Little Fan uses his full power, he is no weaker than I am. His going missing last time had allowed him to learn many things and mature somewhat. However, he hasn’t had enough combat experience and stress management, so I’ll treat this as his training. If he really can’t handle it, only then will I go over and help!”

“Hmph, if something happens to our son, I will not forgive you.”

“Don’t worry, Little Fan would be fine.” Just as they were watching Jiang Fan and Ling Chen fighting, he also checked the other locations where the battles had started.

The only reason he was looking at the Battle of the Gods was so that he could see if there were any players that might have a chance to enter the Shifters faction.
