Chapter 203: Shield

It was at that moment of Wang Hao’s fatal attack that Fang Lin felt something stirring inside his body. Fang Lin’s eyes widened when he felt his bloodline suddenly boiling with excitement!

With his bloodline memories, Fang Lin knew what this meant. The boiling of his bloodline indicates that he was now facing against another Godly Divine Beast Bloodline Holder!

It had always been like this in the past. When two Godly Divine Beast Bloodline holders face each other, their bodies will tremble in delight while their bloodlines boil in excitement. When this happens, both the combatants will feel their opponent’s excited bloodline.

As for why this happens, nobody knows the reason yet. But what everyone was sure was that it’s perfectly fine for their bloodlines to be excited, since two Godly Divine Beast Bloodline Holders facing off against each other was a rarity.

Right now, Fang Lin’s bloodline was screaming to him that the man in front of him must be defeated at all costs. His bloodline’s pride was triggered when Wang Hao, another Godly Divine Beast Bloodline Holder, suddenly attacked Fang Lin.

In the past, Wang Hao was Fang Lin’s master, and he took care of Fang Lin. With that kind of treatment, Fang Lin’s bloodline will not act hostile with Wang Hao.

But now that Wang Hao was attacking Fang Lin with the intent to kill, Fang Lin’s bloodline immediately forgot all pretenses as it urged Fang Lin to fight back.

If Fang Lin was feeling this, Wang Hao of course felt it too. His own bloodline hummed right before Wang Hao’s sword could land on Fang Lin. Wang Hao knew what this humming meant. His bloodline acting like this just meant that the person he was attacking right now was a Godly Divine Beast Bloodline Holder too!

With his quick mind, Wang Hao was able to piece all the clues he saw earlier.

The claims of ‘Fang Xiushang’ that was related to Wang Hao’s secret talks with Fang Lin.

The existence of the auras of Fang Lin and Fang Yu on Fang Xiushang.

All of Fang Xiushang’s weird behaviors when he saw facing off against Ling Tian.

And of course, the biggest clue that Wang Hao remembered was the fact that ‘Fang Xiushang’ used a half-step Universe Flame and a half-step Cosmic Ice.

All these clues might mean that Fang Xiushang kidnapped Fang Yu and Fang Lin.

But with his bloodline reacting this way now, Wang Hao’s mind wandered as he realized that there was actually another answer for those things that ‘Fang Xiushang’ did.

And the reason was that Fang Lin and Fang Yu were impersonating as Fang Xiushang!

“.....”It took only a moment for Wang Hao to realize that Fang Lin was disguising as Fang Xiushang. But even with that discovery, Wang Hao knew that he still had to make his attack land on Fang Lin for publicity reasons. With his abilities, he can still land his attack on Fang Lin without inflicting damage on him.

“Fang Lin, don’t dodge!” Wang Hao sent this message via their bloodlines. Upon hearing this, Fang Lin felt relief, knowing that their reacting bloodlines must have clued Wang Hao that he was disguising as Fang Xiushang.

Even though the swords were still about to land on him, Fang Lin knew that his master will just use his energy abilities to remove the damage. He stayed still, adapting a scared look on his face as Wang Hao was bearing down on him.

As for why his master was still about to attack him, Fang Lin knew that this was due to a complicated matter. He will just ask about it to his master later in a private place.

But just before Wang Hao’s swords could hit Fang Lin, the two of them suddenly felt their bloodlines boiling once more. This time however, neither the two of them was the reason for the reaction.

A transparent shield suddenly appeared in front of Fang Lin, effectively nullifying Wang Hao’s attack. The shield did not even budge after absorbing such powerful attack.

Ripples suddenly appeared on the shield right after Wang Hao’s attack was nullified. These ripples gathered at the spot where Wang Hao struck the shield.

Once all the ripples have converged at that spot, Wang Hao and Fang Lin saw two objects sprouting out of it.

There were two swords that went out of the shield!

These two swords looked exactly like Wang Hao’s sword. Everything, including their appearance and smell were identical to Wang Hao’s. But that’s not the only thing similar.

With his energy sense, Wang Hao also felt that swords that sprouted from the shield contains the same energies that Wang Hao used to attack!

It was as if this transparent shield received an attack, successfully dispersed it, and returned this attack exactly the way it should have been!

If it was him before, Wang Hao will forcefully receive this attack head-on. But since he was hiding his identity as Wang Hao right now, he had no choice but to dodge it.

Wang Hao channeled some kinetic energy on his legs, and he released it from the soles of his feet. This release of energy on the soles of his feet resulted in Wang Hao being catapulted away from Fang Lin.

With the speed he was blasted back, Wang Hao was sure that the reflected attack will miss. But to his surprise, the reflected attack changed its path and was now headed towards Wang Hao again!

“The f**k! This reflected attack must have a homing mechanism!” Wang Hao thought to himself as he tried to dodge it. He had no choice but to do it since his current identity does not allow him to just absorb it.

He swore to himself that once this reflected attack dissipates, he will give its caster a payback.

While Wang Hao was busy dodging the reflected attack, Fang Lin was doing something else.

He jumped back, rushing towards his spirit ship. In the eyes of others, Fang Lin was just going to his spirit ship to acquire some weapons and talismans. After all, the armored man was now preoccupied with some weird spell. Fang Lin will surely use this moment to get some things to assist him.

But Fang Lin’s motives were actually different. He had an anxious expression on his face as he entered the spirit ship. Once inside, what he saw confirmed his suspicions.

Right by the window, he could see Xue’er’s pale complexion. Her hair looked even paler than before while her skin was now beaded with sweat. She was taking some laborious breaths as she clutched her chest tightly. She had a pained expression her face as she tried to give Fang Lin a smile.

Whatever she did clearly took a toll on her.

“So you used one of your heavenly-defying spells.” Wang Hao stated this as if it was a fact.

When Fang Lin and Wang Hao felt their bloodline stirring once more earlier, they knew that this means that one more Godly Divine Beast Bloodline Holder joined in the fight. Wang Hao had no knowledge who this intruder might be.

But Fang Lin had a suspicion who it was.

This suspicion was further heightened when he saw the transparent shield protecting him. The intruder did not attack both of them. Instead, the intruder chose to protect Fang Lin while using the reflected attack to damage Wang Hao.

Fang Lin knew only one person that will do that.

To prove his suspicion, he went back to his ship, trying to see her condition.

He indeed was right.

He could see that Xue’er, the Nine-Tailed Wolf, was spent as if she did something strenuous. The only plausible reason for her condition right now was that she used one of her heavenly-defying spells to save Fang Lin!

“I have to save you, because you are my husband.” Xue’er said softly. Mina stood by her side, trying to feed her with some medicinal pills.

Fang Lin gave her a smile as he replied, “That spell you used... was very cool.” Of course it would be cool! A spell that could nullify any powerful attacks was already strong on its own. But having the ability to return a received attack with homing mechanisms just makes this spell way too overpowered!

“Cool? I’m glad....” Xue’er muttered before her eyes rolled up on its sockets as she fell face-first. There was a thudding sound as she hit the floor, with her whole body suddenly turning limp. Fang Lin felt her vitality fading away, as if it was being sucked by something else.

His face paled, as he called out to her in a pained fashion.

“Wifey!”
