Chapter 691: The Tower In The Battle

Staring at the Nether Storms around him, Lin Li realized that they seemed to have no effect on him at all; hence, he stopped dwelling on it. Instead, he took a seat in the space enveloped by the transmission power and took out the huge magical crystal to help replenish the power that he had exhausted in the Sky Castle.

Staring at the massive magical crystal in his hand, Lin Li sighed and found it a pity that he did not have the power to control the Sky Castle. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have allowed the Ghost to be such a tyrant. After the mageweath that he had created collapsed, the Ghost would really awaken; he reckoned that the Sky Castle had already become a world of Undead creatures now.

Without a doubt, the future owner of the Sky Castle would definitely not be Lin Li who had controlled the core, but the Ghost that appeared out of nowhere. Although the Ghost did not have the magical crystal that controlled the Sky Castle, the massive power and the Psychic Array that was relying on the Conquering Mageweath made it possible for the Sky Castle to be controlled by it.

The Highlord Osric had indeed made a good move. It was no wonder that he would claim that he would have the ability to be resurrected even after he died. Damn it, since you’ve stolen my Sky Castle, I must dig your grave no matter what! Lin Li thought to himself bitterly.

As for the Sky Castle, Lin Li knew very well that if he wanted to truly own the Sky Castle in the future, he would have to defeat the powerful Ghost and the level-27 Undead Heaven. However, the mere thought of it made him realize how difficult it was. The Ghost itself had limitless power that was near the Sanctuary-realm as well as the help of the Undead Heaven that was the ultimate form of Magical Domain. It even had the help of the Psychic Array that would continuously strengthen the Undead Heaven.

What a headache. I’d better improve my own strength first. I initially thought that power that’s at the peak of level-22 would be formidable enough, but it seems I’m really incompetent. Since I don’t know when I’ll get to leave this place, I might as well treat this as a chance for seclusion. After recovering his mana, Lin Li took out the Book of Eternity and began reading attentively while comparing the parallels with the Seven-Realm Spiral.

Lin Li did not put away the magical crystal that controlled the Sky Castle immediately. He also released the dead Seed of Eternity. Sensing the strong mana, the Elemental Wyrm Xiao Hua dashed out of the Dream Garden without Lin Li’s instructions. It then surrounded the magical crystal and Seed of Eternity while rejoicing and cheering in joy.

In fact, for Lin Li, the problem with the Teleportation Portal appeared in a timely manner. What he needed right now was some quiet pondering and the integration of his gains in the Sky Castle. If he, the elves, and Cheyenne had returned together, he would definitely have had to entertain them and discuss the various matters about their cooperation. It would’ve been hard for him to have some peace and time to study the knowledge he’d gained. As a result, he might gradually forget some with the addition of miscellaneous events.

Hence, Lin Li did not mind being trapped in there, nor was he eager about finding a way to leave. Instead, he focused on studying and integrating. The epiphany he had in the Seven-Realm Spiral and the Endless Labyrinth was combined with the experiences that Geresco had recorded in the Book of Eternity. Every gain for Lin Li was tantamount to taking a big step towards the Sanctuary-realm. In fact, reading the seemingly basic theories about magic was just as beneficial for Lin Li.

There was no concept of time in the chaotic flow of time and space, but Lin Li did not bother to keep track of it, either, because he was engrossed in studying magic. He only knew that he could truly increase his power rapidly through this period of seclusion and advance towards his goal of reaching the Sanctuary-realm.

Norfeller and Ujfalusi stayed still in front of the ancient Teleportation Portal in the depths of the Dragon’s Cave. They stayed the same for several days, and neither wanted to leave at all. They believed that their master would one day appear in front of them again.

All of a sudden, there were changes in the Teleportation Portal. Norfeller and Ujfalusi suddenly opened their eyes to look at the Teleportation Portal while keeping their guard up. Although they hoped to see their master, they could not deny the fact that the terrifying entity in the Sky Castle was very likely to pass through the Teleportation Portal too.

The Teleportation Portal lit up and gradually became more and more glaring, so much that it engulfed everything. A blurry figure then appeared in it. Sensing the familiar aura, Norfeller and Ujfalusi could hardly conceal the excitement they felt. They hurried towards the Teleportation Portal agitatedly. To them, their master was still their master regardless of what he became.

“Master, you’re back!” Norfeller and Ujfalusi yelled excitedly.

Lin Li slowly stepped out of the light with a smile and glanced at his two Undead servants before asking, “Have Cheyenne and the elves left? How long have I been in there?”

“Master, it’s already been more than half a year since we came out,” Ujfalusi frantically answered.

“It’s already been half a year? It’s surprising that you’re here,” Lin Li said with a nod. He knew that the Soul Contract was not the only reason that his Undead servants waited for him there. Glancing at them with admiration, he said, “Let’s go, it’s time for us to go back.”

Knowing that more than half a year had passed, Lin Li eagerly wanted to return to the Tower of Dusk to see how much it had developed within half a year.

Lin Li brought his two Undead servants along and left the Haiga Mountain Range. Along the way to Doland, they attracted the attention of plenty of magical beasts, but they were flying too quickly, and had disappeared before the magical beasts even reacted.

When he arrived in the Haiga Mountain Range, Lin Li first headed to Aminya City to meet Cheyenne of the Malfa Family. He then spent a lot of time traveling, but he returned rather quickly. He dashed towards the Tower of Dusk without stopping to take breaks and managed to arrive in Doland City within just half a day.

However, before he even saw the Tower of Dusk, Lin Li could already hear a huge roar coming from the front, as well as the strong and menacing aura of the All-Kill Array. Has the Tower of Dusk been attacked? Lin Li wondered, and sped up to dash forward…

At this moment, an intense battle was taking place in front of the Tower of Dusk. There was blood all over the ground, some of which had already turned dark, while the rest seemed to be fresh. Corpses were lying in the pool of blood—some were torn apart, some were charred by fire, and some still were poked with ice. Almost none of them were complete.

Although the Tower of Dusk did not activate the All-Kill Array, there was still the domineering aura of the All-Kill Array that Lin Li had personally designed lingering in the air.

Even though Lin Li, the Legendary President, was not present and there was no Legendary powerhouse to take charge of the Tower of Dusk, no one in the entire Breezy Plains dared to offend them. Apart from the Felan Kingdom’s army, the Dark Blade and the Malfa Family were probably the only ones out of all of the forces in the entire Breezy Plains that qualified to make the Tower of Dusk activate the All-Kill Array.

At this time, it was the Dark Blade’s team that was facing the Tower of Dusk. The Dark Blade had fallen out with Lin Li completely in the Seven-Realm Spiral, and although they had lost a Legendary leader, their overall combat power was not affected much, and the power they exhibited was still domineering.

Unfortunately, the source of mana that the Tower of Dusk was using was still the Legendary-realm Salamander’s magical crystal, which couldn’t support the All-Kill Array for too long. The Dark Blade wouldn’t have had the chance to approach the Tower of Dusk otherwise. After all, the mages of the Tower of Dusk did not know that their President was that wealthy; hence, they could not bear to waste a precious Legendary magical crystal.

However, while Lin Li was away, the development of the Tower of Dusk did not stop. The mages of the Tower of Dusk did show great competency, and did not show any signs of panic even when faced with enemies who were stronger than themselves. They coped well, in fact. There were 10 Crystal Cannons installed on the turrets that Lin Li had reserved. Some of the muzzles were accumulating mana and waiting to launch a lethal attack on the enemies.

In the battlefield, the mages from the Malfa Family were also going against the Dark Blade. Although there weren’t many people, Lin Li could tell from their Dark Moon Staffs and Faro’s Robes that they were clearly the elites of the Malfa Family.

An elderly was floating in mid-air on the Dark Blade’s side and continuously attacking the people at the bottom. The old man with white hair and a twisted face was giving off a menacing vibe; he was none other than the Legendary-mage Borg of the Dark Blade.

Perhaps because he was overwhelmed with the grief of losing his son, he was no longer as kind as he used to be when he was inviting Cheyenne to cooperate with him. At this moment, resentment was written all over his face, and it seemed that he wouldn’t mind losing the entire Dark Blade in order to avenge his son.

Somehow, Borg managed to encourage his subordinates and all members of the Dark Blade to go all out and exhibit all their techniques. All of the Mages and Warriors seemed absolutely dauntless.

The entire battlefield was noisy, chaotic, and filled with the sounds of roaring, yelling, and explosions. Facing the crazy attack of the Dark Blade, the Tower of Dusk and the Malfa Family were still doing their best to resist, but they were rather passive.

“Continue to attack, rush in, they have no power to resist, kill them all!” Borg waved his staff and growled in a stern voice. Since it was impossible to kill his enemies in person, he decided to kill the entire Tower of Dusk to avenge his son!

On the battlefield, the other leader of the Dark Blade, the Legendary leader Baldela, was shrouded in light and waving the double-edged sword in his hand. He was fighting with a tall Alchemy Colossus.

Fortunately, the Tower of Dusk which was lacking a leader still had the two Alchemy Colossuses that Lin Li had brought back from the Dragon Mountains. Otherwise, the Legendary Sword Sage Baldela alone would be able to bring major damage to the Tower of Dusk. However, even then, one of the Alchemy Colossuses had already been ripped apart and fallen onto the ground, while the mage that was controlling the Alchemy Colossus was cut in two by Baldela.

One of the arms of the Alchemy Colossus that was fighting Baldela had already been disabled, and it was also covered in wounds caused by the sword. If it weren’t because of the two mages of the Malfa Family who were helping, the Alchemy Colossus probably wouldn’t be able to endure for long.

That was the difference between having a Legendary powerhouse as a leader and not having one. The lack of Legendary combat power couldn’t be compensated for by external forces. Although the power of the Alchemy Colossus was also equivalent to the Legendary level, the controller did not have a concrete understanding of Legendary-realm; hence, he could at most exert power that was near Legendary.

On the Tower of Dusk, several magic crystal cannons were already full of energy, but they were unable to launch any attacks. The people of the Dark Blade and the Tower of Dusk were all mixed up on the battlefield, and regardless of how powerful the Crystal Cannons were, there was no meaning to it at this moment, because no one was willing to bear the consequences.

The Dark Blade was undoubtedly the best group of bandits in the Breezy Plains. Although it had been a long time since they did any business without capital, they began to reveal their true colors as bandits after being enraged by the enemies they were fighting. At this moment, they were all charging forward dauntlessly, and the mages of the Tower of Dusk had no choice but to retreat.

“Damn it, don’t be complacent. When that rascal Felic comes back, he’ll definitely make you guys pay for it! Hey, let go of me, let me fight them,” Gerian said while holding onto the magic staff with his right hand. Two mages of the Tower of Dusk lifted him up and carried him to the tower.

Gavin smiled and shook his head bitterly. He then turned around and charged towards the Dark Blade. He then looked up at Borg who was floating in the air. After fighting for so long, there were casualties on both sides, but with the help of the Malfas, there was obviously greater damage done to the Dark Blade. Logically speaking, most forces would have retreated when faced with such huge damage. However, Borg must have been out of his mind, because he didn’t seem to care about the lives of his subordinates and the Dark Blade at all.

“Your President will never return. He has already become a dirty Undead creature! None of you can escape! Today, I’m going to annihilate the Tower of Dusk!” Borg yelled while waving his magic staff, after which one of the Dark Blade’s armies rushed into the battlefield.
