Chapter 53: Trial Divine Tablets!

Within Undead Town!

Link was scanning around, searching for information on Undead Town.

When he came to the front of the blacksmith store, an image appeared in his mind.

[Blacksmith Store]

Item 1: Spirit Longsword

Grade: Gold

Price: 10,000 trial points

Item 2: Flame Shadow Sword

Grade: Diamond

Price: 50,000 trial points

Item 3: Scar of Blood

Grade: Epic

Price: 100,000 trial points

While looking at the equipment information that appeared from the blacksmith store, Link was shocked.

This City of the Undead is indeed a trial ground. They even sell Epic-grade equipment. Only, these prices are very fraudulent. Link suddenly realized that he could not afford to buy anything with the 5,000 trial points he had just received...

Link even saw a piece of Myth-grade equipment. It was a katana, but its price was as high as one million trial points.

The feeling it gave one was like getting rich overnight before suddenly falling all the way to the bottom. The feeling of only looking at it and being unable to afford it was too painful!

“Saiya, how many dungeons in the City of the Undead can be entered presently?” Link asked as he left the blacksmith store. He did not continue browsing...

“Currently, there is only one dungeon in the City of the Undead available. The other dungeons have yet to be opened,” responded Saiya. She then displayed the dungeon selection interface before Link.

Link looked over and saw that only ‘Sin Realm’ was opened. The other regions were all covered by fog.

“How do we open these dungeons?” Link’s brow arched. He remembered that the City of the Undead—controlled by the Temple of Light—had more than one dungeon in his previous life.

“Opening the other dungeons will require the corresponding tokens to unlock them!” Saiya explained. There were a total of three tokens for the City of the Undead, and each token corresponded to a different dungeon. The one that Link owned was the Token of Sin. Hence, it could only open the Sin Realm.

Upon hearing this, Link understood.

The former Temple of Light inspired awe throughout the world. Its influence was extremely powerful. Thus, finding the remaining two tokens would not be a difficult task for them.

“What is this?” Right then, Yang Xuerou asked a question. She noticed that three ancient stone tablets sat at the end of the town!

They were three dark-gold colored stone tablets. They were thick, heavy, and filled with a primordial air, seeming to be passed down from ancient times.

All sorts of lines were carved on the stone tablets. Vigorous and firm, the words resembled horned dragons but seemed more like names!

“These are the divine trial tablets; they are records established by the top powerhouses who cleared the dungeons. One can also choose to carve their name on the stone tablets to be handed down through the ages!” explained Saiya.

The City of the Undead was unlike other trial grounds. In other trial grounds, people partied up to enter and kill monsters. However, the City of the Undead was a solo dungeon. Only one person could enter.

But among the later generations, this was where most people visited. Countless people came in large numbers, unsparingly depleting all their wealth, and yearned to enter!

This was because the dungeon was not only a wonderland for gaining levels, but it also allowed one to harden oneself, reach the peak, and become well known throughout the world.

This was due to the City of the Undead’s divine trial tablets! Carved on them were the names of all the universe’s top experts.

There was a legend that so long as one could leave their name on the divine trial tablets, they were sure to become existences that could dominate a region.

“What?! This tablet has been handed down for 10,000 years?” Yang Xuerou exclaimed, her gaze filled with disbelief.

Humans had extremely short lifespans. A hundred years basically meant the end of a human’s lifespan, so how would they know how long 10,000 years were?

However, humanity’s constitution was also transformed by a strange energy when the apocalyptic world arrived, allowing them to adapt to the apocalyptic world and survive.

In the present world, humans could gain unprecedented strength by advancing in levels. Even their lifespans had been extended. This was something that everyone could sense.

But 10,000 years... was still too long!

“This was left behind by the previous batch of humans. As it’s said, life and death is a never-ending cycle. An era will ultimately end but samsara[1] never stops.”

Saiya let out a long sigh, expressing deep melancholy. She had lived ever since the City of the Undead was established and had witnessed countless eras rise and fall long ago.

“You are saying that, other than us, there is also the previous batch of humans?” The shock in Yang Xuerou’s eyes became even stronger as if she had encountered a startling big secret!

Only Link by the side had sunk into silence.

He had been long aware of all this because he was a reincarnator himself. However, Link was unlike the others—he had been reborn ten years in the past.

In the future ages, Link also learned that this apocalypse was not a natural disaster but a game. A game controlled by the superior ones...

“Of course, there are too many connections in this, and I cannot freely reveal them...” Saiya did not explain too much. This involved secrets, making her shut her mouth.

Link understood, so he did not continue probing. Instead, he shifted his gaze to the first stone tablet. The other two stone tablets were shrouded by dense mist, making it impossible to peep at them.

However, Link wasn’t bothered by this. Those two stone tablets were highly likely the records left behind by the powerhouses who cleared the two other dungeons. As he had not found the other tokens, he had no need to waste time on them.

Link looked over and saw that several names were ranked on the first tablet.

[1]: Name: Tallis

Profession: Order Master

Level: Stage Three, Level 10

Record: Sin Realm Tier Six!

[2]: Name: Cyber

Profession: Elemental Master

Level: Stage Three, Level 10

Record: Sin Realm Tier Five!

[3]: Name: Hei Qi

Profession: God of Killing

Level: Stage Three, Level 10

Record: Sin Realm Tier Five!

...

...

...

Link had never heard of the first two people’s names before. However, it was evident that they absolutely were hidden profession holders because of their profession names.

People capable of activating hidden professions were undoubtedly existences with powerful talents. Only, the divine trial tablet did not state the grade of their profession!

However, Link could be sure that the first and second place’s professions were not below Myth-grade. This was because the forces these people controlled were already peak forces!

The power of order... the power of elements...

Any one of these forces was enough to place one at the peak!

However, what attracted Link’s attention the most was the person who placed third!

Hei Qi! God of Killing, Hei Qi!

This name made Link associate it with a certain person. That person appeared in historical records—God of War, Bai Qi[2], who killed 400,000 people!

Hei Qi, Bai Qi[3]**... Is there any relation between these two people?

[1] In Buddhism, the cycle of birth, existing and death

[2] A military general of the Qin state in the Warring States of China

[3] In Chinese, the characters for ‘hei’ means black, and ‘bai’ means white
