Chapter 285: I Think He Made A Turn Inside

Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Song Yu and Qi Chengzhi ended the session earlier as their clothing were not as complex as Qi Chengyue. Even after they finished selecting the photos they wanted, Qi Chengyue and Cheng Dongge still had not returned from the outdoor shoot. However, they called up and told them that they were already on their way back.

The photographer was looking through the unedited photos of Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu. Their poses were very natural without needing the photographer to prompt them most of the time. Those small unintended moments when they both interacted with each other looked far more touching and natural in comparison to those intentional poses.

“Sir, Madam, can we display your photos in the shop after we finish editing them?” asked the photographer. The emotions in their photos were so genuine that it was uncomparable to photos taken by the most talented and skillful photographer.

He had taken photos for many celebrities but none of them were this good.

Qi Chengzhi arched his eyebrows. Song Yu had her stomach exposed in most of these photos, so he replied without any second thoughts, “No.”

The photographer did not insist and regrettably replied, “Okay.”

Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu sat on the sofa and waited for Qi Chengyue and Cheng Dongge’s return. Even though the studio was air-conditioned and they stood still during the photoshoot, they were sweating through and felt incredibly exhausted for no reason.

“Are you tired? Do you want to nap for a while?” Qi Chengzhi lowered his head and looked at Song Yu’s obvious weary face. He brushed his lips on her smooth forehead as he asked in a raspy voice.

When the photographer saw them, he took his camera and sounds of shutters fluttered. Qi Chengzhi was aware but he did not bother about him.

Song Yu covered her mouth while she yawned. She did not notice the camera and leaned on Qi Chengzhi’s shoulders. “Let me take a nap.”

Qi Chengzhi laughed and took her in with one arm so that she could position herself comfortably in his arms. He placed the other arm on her tummy so that he could feel Qi Youjin’s movements if there was any.

Qi Youjin was rather active lately. He kept making his presence known from within.

Suddenly, Song Yu let out a cry and covered her stomach. Qi Chengzhi became nervous immediately and asked, “What happened?”

“I think he made a turn inside, and it felt as if there was a tug on my stomach,” Song Yu said in surprise. Her weariness disappeared instantly and her whole face lit up.

“Did it hurt?” Qi Chengzhi asked Song Yu with concern, a frown etched on his handsome face.

Song Yu shook her head and replied, “It didn’t hurt, I just felt a movement.”

Only then Qi Chengzhi laughed and touched her belly with his burning hands. He said in a mellow voice, “Looks like this kid’s getting stronger.”

Both of them were bathing in the joy of Qi Youjin’s movement while the photographer documented this moment by clicking the shutter.

Half an hour later, Qi Chengyue and Cheng Dongge returned. Qi Chengyue was still wearing the wedding gown. She saw Song Yu and Qi Chengzhi were waiting for them, with Song Yu already asleep on Qi Chengzhi’s shoulders. She greeted Qi Chengzhi softly before going off with Cheng Dongge to change their clothes.

Another half an hour had passed before Qi Chengzhi and Cheng Dongge came back. Qi Chengzhi woke Song Yu up. “Chengyue and Dongge’s here now. We’re ready to make a move.”

Song Yu was a little groggy after the nap and she looked quite interesting in her half-awake appearance. Qi Chengzhi could not help and gave her a kiss.

Song Yu saw that Qi Chengyue and Cheng Dongge were beside them, but they had got used to this. However, the staff and photographer were around them and saw the entire thing. Song Yu covered her mouth instantly and looked at Qi Chengzhi with a blush on her face.

The four of them left together. Coincidentally, the studio was located near Dynasty so they went straight there to have dinner.

Once they entered and walked in, Qi Chengyue saw Gao Jingqiu and Mu Sisi sitting in a rather secluded place in the lobby and were having their meal. She tugged Cheng Dongge and informed Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu softly.

Cheng Dongge glanced over briefly and said, “I heard that the Mu family is planning a marriage with the Gao family.”

He said it very calmly. However, Qi Chengyue could not help but think of Huang Ziyue. Right before this, Gao Jingqiu broke up with Huang Ziyue for a young model.

“What expression is this?” Cheng Dongge glanced at Qi Chengyue with an ambiguous smile. “Gao Jingqiu had stated very clearly right from the start that his marriage would surely be a union with one of the noble families. He would never marry an ordinary woman.”

“I just didn’t expect that Mu Sisi will agree to meet with Gao Jingqiu,” Song Yu said after entering Qi Chengzhi’s VIP room.

“The Mu family is worried that news about Mu Sisi getting drugged and raped would leak out one day. They’re seeking the opportunity to marry her off as soon as possible before things get complicated. If it spreads to others, those affluent families would never accept Mu Sisi. It’ll be a great loss to the Mu family,” Qi Chengzhi explained with a clear voice.

As they walked out after dinner, Song Yu took another look at the table but Mu Sisi and Gao Jingqiu had already left. She just hoped that Mu Sisi would be more grounded and would stop bothering them after she got married to Gao Jingqiu.

Ever since Song Yu came back to work, Yang Yunshu could only mumble to herself and gossip about Song Yu discreetly. In front of Song Yu or other colleagues, she remained quiet and dared not say a thing.

On Friday afternoon, Song Yu and Ruan Danchen came out from the design department. She thought that Chang Lai would be waiting for her at the entrance, but she was surprised to see Qi Chengzhi.

Qi Chengzhi would always be waiting for Song Yu in front of the design department since she got back to work. The employees in Chengshi had gotten used to it. They were still fearful of Qi Chengzhi but they did not avoid him like they initially did. They were able to greet him openly as ‘Young Master Cheng’ and could wait alongside for the elevator to arrive.

Of course, they would let Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu get on the elevator first.

Qi Chengzhi stood upright with both hands inside his pocket, and he did not lean his back against the wall. His gaze was focused on the inside of the design department. No one knew how long had he been staring.

Song Yu’s whole face lit up when she saw that it was Qi Chengzhi. Ruan Danchen greeted him as ‘Young Master Cheng’ before running off in a hurry as though she was a fugitive on the run.

Qi Chengzhi was not bothered by it. He lowered his head and stared at Song Yu with a gentle smile. Song Yu was quite calm as her colleagues were no longer staring at them incessantly like before since they had gotten used to their presence.

“Aren’t you busy today?” Song Yu took Qi Chengzhi’s hand and gently pinched his slender fingers. Even though they were already a married couple and even had a child, she could not control her heartbeat every time she saw his manly appearance.

“I’ve finished the work that got piled up,” Qi Chengzhi held her hand and lowered his head to peck on her lips. He was not affected by the fact that many people were passing by.

Looking at Song Yu’s blushing face, those female colleagues regardless of their marital status envied her. People said that the skin condition would worsen and turn ugly if they were pregnant with a boy, but this did not reflect on Song Yu at all. Her skin became even more radiant and delicate—she was practically glowing.

When they thought about having a husband like Qi Chengzhi who pampered her every day, it would be odd if she was not looking good.

However, other than Song Yu’s face, her body was totally out of shape. She looked bloated with a huge belly sticking right in front of her. While they were jealous of her, they could not fathom why Qi Chengzhi was so loyal to her. He had never once looked at other women the entire time he was here to pick up Song Yu. He only had eyes for Song Yu and this alone could already turn others from admiration to envy.

“The studio called me this morning and informed that the photos are ready. We can go and collect them.” Qi Chengzhi walked Song Yu to the elevator and entered together. “Let’s eat first, we’ll collect it after.”

“You’re not going back to the company this afternoon?” Song Yu asked.

“I worked overtime consecutively for a few days already. Since I’ve completed them, I plan to take this afternoon off,” Qi Chengzhi said smilingly.

Both of them went to have lunch at Dynasty before heading to the studio.

When the staff showed them the photos, they noticed that there were a few extra copies. It was them chatting on the sofa that day—Qi Chengzhi was hugging Song Yu while she laid in his arms submissively. He was whispering into Song Yu’s ears with a warm expression on his face.

The picture had an unexplainable harmonious feeling. Song Yu never thought that this moment could be captured by a third person and portrayed in such a touching manner. She fell in love with the picture instantly.

Coincidentally, the photographer had just finished a photoshoot with his customers. He was holding a sandwich while he walked out of the shooting studio. He did not know about Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu’s identity as he had to work with many customers every day. However, he recognized them instantly when he saw them as both of them made quite an impression.

“Mr. Qi, Mrs. Qi.” The photographer walked over and saw that they were choosing their photos. He laughed and said, “When I saw both of you that day, the scene was so beautiful that I couldn’t resist capturing it. Also, I didn’t edit it much. I only altered the background and lighting, and I didn’t touch both of your images. This is by far my best work. A picture is at its finest when it portrays the natural state of the person. It’s far more worthy in comparison to those photos with designed poses and pre-set angles.”

Qi Chengzhi smiled in satisfaction.

The staff let Song Yu and him choose their preferred pictures. Qi Chengzhi liked them all including those that Song Yu left out, so he just decided to take all of them.

They had already developed a few photos that they selected to be on the album and posters. However, Qi Chengzhi saw a few more photos from the photographer and truly liked them. He told them to print them out as well, but the staff said that they would not be able to finish it by today and told him that they would post it to them by tomorrow.

Qi Chengzhi left his address Viewpark Residence before taking the developed photos and the original film and left with Song Yu.

On the way, Qi Chengzhi took a detour and went to buy some nice photo frames before taking Song Yu home.

Song Yu had nothing to do while she was in the passenger seat and opened the album to take a look. There were photos of Qi Chengzhi and herself holding the ultrasound scan of their baby. It could be considered as their first family photo.

Song Yu lowered her head and rubbed her belly. She could not wait for the little guy to come out so that they could bring him to have a family photoshoot.

Back home, Song Yu rushed Qi Chengzhi to choose the photos to put into the frame. Qi Chengzhi sat beside and look at Song Yu busy choosing the photos. He enjoyed accompanying her quietly like this, looking at her fussing around.

Song Yu glanced at him and thrust the other photos and frames into his hands as she could use some of his help too. Qi Chengzhi laughed while his slender fingers moved elegantly. It was already almost dinner time after finish selecting those photos.

After dinner, Song Yu went back to the living room after using the bathroom. She saw Qi Chengzhi was facing the wall at the end of the hallway entrance looking at something.

When Qi Chengzhi saw her walked over, he scooped her into his embrace with his long arms and explained, “Let’s make this a photo wall, okay? I’m thinking of putting our family photo here so that people can see it right when they enter the house. We’ll put up photos from our wedding up to when you got your pregnancy. We’ll hang the photos after you give birth to Youjin.”

Song Yu looked at the wall. She imagined how it would look like while she listened to Qi Chengzhi’s description. She felt like this was a nice way to document their family throughout using photos.

Qi Chengzhi could tell that Song Yu loved the idea. He proceeded to the study room to search for all their wedding photos for Song Yu to select.

“…” Only then Song Yu understood why Qi Chengzhi bought so many photo frames when they were on the way back home. He already had the intention of filling the wall with photos.

When Song Yu was choosing from their wedding photos, she heard Qi Chengzhi said, “It seems like both of us don’t really have photos of our daily life.”

Song Yu lifted her head and saw Qi Chengzhi looked as if he had thought of something. He said in an awkward expression, “Like the ones that you took with Jian Yi.”

“…” Song Yu was speechless.

This happened so long ago, how could he still remember?

Furthermore, he was not the kind who would take selfies when he goes out. If she insisted on taking selfies with him, it felt weird with his conservative image.

“We can take them in the future.” Song Yu scurried over and leaned on his shoulders. “As long as you don’t feel embarrassed.”

Qi Chengzhi stared at her with his jet-black eyes and gave her a mocking glance. Then, he stood up laughing and brought the ladder over together with a hammer and nails. He picked the photo frames filled with pictures and proceeded to nail them on the wall.

Song Yu only needed to pass those photo frames to Qi Chengzhi since they had already chosen them from the pile.

They took another look at the photos when Qi Chengzhi was fixing them onto the wall. Song Yu felt a sudden feeling of reminiscence when she saw their wedding photos from months ago. Time really flew past. She was smiling so blissfully and her baby bump was not visible yet.

She was standing beside Qi Chengzhi. He looked exceptionally handsome in the picture. Even though she was carrying his child and was almost finished with her trimester, she still felt proud and excited whenever she thought about this remarkable man was her husband. She felt like she had accumulated a few lifetimes of karma to have his love. He never once looked at other women throughout their time together.

Song Yu could feel a sense of warmth slowly filling her chest while she looked at those pictures and could not resist her giggles.

Qi Chengzhi stood still on the ladder and his hands stopped moving. He tilted his head and stared at Song Yu with his eyebrows arched. He asked with a confused smile, “What are you laughing about?”

Song Yu blushed slightly and raised her head. She had the urge to kiss him when she met his gaze.

Just when this thought popped in her head, the doorbell rang. Song Yu went to answer the door since she was nearer. She saw two strangers through the screen of the answering machine. “May I know who you are?”

“Hello, we’re Mu Huaisheng’s parents. I’m Mu Huili and this is my wife, Fang Anci,” Mu Huili answered.

Song Yu turned around to look at Qi Chengzhi where he nodded. She then opened the door to let them in.

Qi Chengzhi did not come down from the ladder right away. He continued nailing the picture that Song Yu passed to him just now.

When Song Yu opened the door to let Mu Huili and Fang Anci into the house, he had just finished hammering the last shot. Mu Huili and Fang Anci stood at the entrance and saw him. They were surprised that he was wearing a thin, casual T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow and a hammer in his right hand.

Back in the days when Qi Chengzhi was studying in America, he had been to the Mu family’s house to have a meal. He was an introvert and looked as if he was untainted by worldly matters. He did not seem like he would carry out such a mundane task.

They never thought that he would be a family man.

Qi Chengzhi left the hammer on the ladder and nodded at them. “Mr. Mu, Mrs. Mu.”

Fang Anci laughed dryly while her gaze fell on Song Yu’s belly. “You’re Song Yu, right?”

Song Yu nodded her head and greeted them the way Qi Chengzhi just did. “Please come in.”

They entered the living room and saw the mess on the table. Song Yu explained, “We were arranging the photos.”

Fang Anci nodded her head smilingly. Song Yu did not put them aside since they would continue to put those up after sending them off.

Qi Chengzhi sat down beside Song Yu with a cold expression and said not a word.

Song Yu saw that Mu Huili and Fang Anci remained quiet and the latter could only laugh awkwardly, she went in and told Aunt Yang to prepare some snacks.

Mu Huili glanced at Qi Chengzhi and started talking first, “Chengzhi, we’re here for Sisi. We know that she had caused a lot of trouble all this while. We came here to apologize and also to inform you guys that we had started planning her marriage to Gao Jingqiu. She won’t harass you guys in the future.”

Qi Chengzhi extended his arm to take the cup of tea. He took a sip and did not respond.

Mu Huili gave an awkward expression and continued, “I know that your relationship with Huaisheng was affected because of Sisi after she kept on bothering you guys. I know that we don’t have the right to use our past relationship to ask you for a favor, but we still came here thick-skinned to ask you guys. You guys are aware of the incident that happened to Sisi this time. Can you please keep it a secret? She’s about to get married, and we’ll keep an eye on her to prevent her from creating more troubles. If this goes out, it’d ruin her life for sure, not to mention her marriage.”

Qi Chengzhi looked at him blandly. He did not beat around the bush and said in a cool tone, “As long as she stops harassing us, I’ll keep my end sealed.”

“I heard from Huaisheng that you got a copy of the surveillance footage from the bar?” Mu Huili probed him.

“Indeed so. Even though I won’t talk about it, I feel more secure if I have something on hand. If not, what can I do if Mu Sisi tries to frame me? Also, she’ll be more honest if I have the evidence, am I right?” Qi Chengzhi said coldly.

Mu Huili knew that Qi Chengzhi would not hand over the video. He could only sigh without saying anything further.

“Song Yu, how far are you in?” Fang Anci looked at Song Yu’s tummy smilingly.

“A little over six months,” came Song Yu’s gentle reply.

“You have to invite us to your child’s full moon party,” Fang Anci interjected hurriedly.

Qi Chengzhi glared at Fang Anci from aside. He knew that the Mu family wanted to take this opportunity to get back into the social circle. The Mu family’s status had gotten a little shaky after that incident in MU.
