Chapter 109: Shield Demon Armored Spider (Part Six)

It exploded and shot outwards like a quick steel needle.

The bulletproof glass door was penetrated instantly. The mouthpart of the mosquito type monster was also bent afterward. The man saw it and chuckled before quickly signaling his partner to start moving.

The wood had already turned into a boat; it was too late to turn back now.

He gritted his teeth and produced a hammer and an awl from his sling bag. He then placed the tip of the awl on the tiny hole on the glass door and tapped it precisely with the hammer. Layers upon layers of web-like patterns appeared and spread outwards.

Gao Peng, who was resting on the sofa, heard a loud noise from the main door. He frowned and walked to the office to check the surveillance camera.

The security camera set up at the staircase showed a pitch-black scene. Nothing was there but the signal seemed to be in good order. Something probably covered the lens.

It seemed like people with ill intentions were on the other side of the door.

After all, Gao Peng still had not gotten over the trauma he underwent at his villa.

He frowned and thought seriously. Gao Peng took out his phone after thinking for a while and dialed the three digits that everyone was familiar with.

“Hello, Police? I want to make a report. Someone wants to do something evil to me,” Gao Peng said calmly.

The other side of the phone did not dare delay and immediately inquired Gao Peng’s address and his current condition.

“I’m at Lianhu Road, Dayan District in the city center…” Gao Peng gave his address to the police officer. “These people are probably trying to get in through the door right now, I’m currently safe. Ugh… If these people initiate an attack on me, am I allowed to defend myself?”

The police deployed officers as soon as they obtained the detailed location information, and at the same time asked Gao Peng to pay attention to his safety, and that in the right moment, he could fight back.

Gao Peng put down his phone and looked outside. He then slowly disappeared into the darkness.

The door opened violently, and two figures walked cautiously inside. The lights in the building were all turned off. It was pitch black.

On top of their heads blinked the red lights of several security cameras.

The two guys touched their masks and relaxed a little. One of them even waved the hammer in his hands while staring at the security camera menacingly.

“Go. Don’t waste time. Let’s finish searching quickly and leave,” the other guy said and pulled on his arm.

One of the robbers moved to find the light switch but found nothing. Did it short-circuit?

“Boss, why won’t the light turn on?”

“It might be because the employees of this studio turned off the main switch after work,” the boss said, unsure. The surrounding air made him feel kind of cold.

The two thieves fumbled about and ultimately managed to find the laboratory. They pushed open the door and the sound of flowing water came from within.

“What is this? It seems like something is still in operation.”

The experimental equipment was all connected to a backup generator, in place to prevent incidents like power outages from disrupting experiments.

The green signal light blinked slowly. A huge dark shadow inside the experimental cylinder showed only parts of its body.

Rays of light shone into the depths of the water, and the massive shadow inside the water tank moved ever so slightly. The muffled sound of water moving mixed with the strong smell of sterilizers.

“B… Boss, what is this thing?” the shorter of the two asked in a stutter.

“It is probably an experiment by the employees of the studio,” the boss said. He felt a little anxious. Had he entered an illegal studio?

“Don’t worry about it. Let’s look for what we want first. They’re probably conducting some experiment here. As long as we don’t disturb the experiment, the guy inside won’t come out, so we should hurry and look for these materials.”

The two of them searched for a long time in the experimental laboratory, and only managed to find a few common materials and ingredients. That was because most of the ingredients and materials had already been used by Gao Peng.

The two were uncertain if those materials were worth any money, so they put everything in their pockets and turned around to leave.

Gao Peng, who hid in a corner inside the studio, heard their conversation loud and clear.

Confusion appeared on his face. It seemed like he made a mistake, as those two were not there to trouble him. They were probably only two thieves. Of course, he could not rule out the possibility of the incident escalating into a full-on robbery if the thieves found out that there was someone around.

It was precisely at this moment that a row of data flashed past Gao Peng’s mind.

“Dark evolution success – Shield Demon Armored Spider.”

The two people walking outside suddenly felt a chill in their hearts and turned around. They saw a vague figure standing in the corner of the room. The person waved to the both of them and said, “You must be tired after such thorough searching. Do you want to take a seat and have some tea?”

They were startled and looked at each other. They walked quickly towards Gao Peng.

The person on the left took a knife from somewhere in his chest quietly, and the person on the right took out the large hammer from his bag. At the same time, a ferocious centipede crawled out of the shirt of the person on the right. It was as thick as a person’s arm and three feet long. It wrapped itself his arm and bit down on his wrist.

He let out a muffled groan and his arm expanded considerably. Multiple veins appeared like giant pythons.

He let out a low growl, raised the hammer in his hand, and swung it at Gao Peng. “Drink tea? I’ll treat you to a taste of my hammer!”

The hammer swing was quick and landed directly on Gao Peng’s head. But he only felt that his hammer had hit something like cotton. It was soft, and generated a weird feeling, like he could not truly exert his strength.

He regained his composure and looked at Gao Peng again. The fellow was already on the ground.

Gao Peng sat on the ground and touched his head. He only felt something had met with his forehead, like someone pushing him using their hands, with a layer of cotton in the middle.

The damage he received was transferred to Stripey through the shifting constellation contract. In the soul space, Stripey’s emotions didn’t change in the slightest. To Stripey it felt like a mosquito sting.

Suddenly, a large mound of liquid flew from afar and made the two people completely sticky and wet. It made the two of them very uncomfortable. As they prepared to raise their hands, they found out that their entire bodies were stuck and they could not move.

Stripey’s humongous spider legs tapped on the brick floor as it walked, producing cold, crisp sounds.

It crawled slowly to the two thieves. Stripey used its secondary limbs to touch its mouthparts lightly and its reddish eyes emanated a cold, murderous aura.

The two people dared to attack its master. They had definitely crossed Stripey’s line. It raised its spider legs. In the eyes of the two thieves, the legs continued to grow larger…

Gao Peng sighed. It was the first time he had ever killed someone. Although he did not do it with his hands, it still made him feel extremely uneasy.

In truth Gao Peng did not really know how he should have dealt with those two, but his thoughts were straightforward.

If they discovered that someone was inside the building and immediately turned around to escape, Gao Peng would simply subdue the two of them and hand them to the police.

Unfortunately… the reaction of the two thieves was not as friendly.

So… Sorry.

You wanted to kill me, so I killed you, he thought.

It was very simple.
