It was 6.30pm and Yang Tian was lying in a ward in Tianxiong City Hospital. His wounds were treated and the bleeding had stopped, but his face was slightly pale.
“Yang Tian, this is the entrance contract to enter the Tianwei Military Academy. Take a look. If you have no questions, you may sign it!”
Zhao Wu passed a document file to Yang Tian, smiling as he spoke.
Yang Tian received the document and gave it a look. Satisfied that there were no issues, he signed his name on it.
“Yang Tian, welcome to Tianwei Military Academy!”
Zhao Wu inspected the document after Yang Tian signed it. He then extended his hand with a smile and shook Yang Tian’s hand.
Little Fei, who stood off to one side, nodded and smiled.
In order not to worry Qin Fei, Yang Tian did not tell her that he had been injured. However, at 8pm she suddenly showed up in front of him. 1
Seeing Yang Tian wrapped up like a mummy, tears streaked down Qin Fei’s face. She sat by the bed, and held Yang Tian’s hand as she asked, “Why didn’t you tell me about such an important matter? Are you badly hurt?”
“Little Fei, I’m fine! It’s all just flesh wounds. I’ll be fine after a few days.” Yang Tian chuckled as he spoke.
After saying that, he quickly added, “Don’t tell my parents. They’ll be very worried if they find out.”
Qin Fei nodded.
Both of them chatted for a while before Qin Fei told Yang Tian that she would be leaving with her parents tomorrow to Hero City in Europe. She was going there to study and would not return for a long time. 3
This news caught Yang Tian by surprise. He originally thought Qin Fei would go to university in Tianxiong City. However, he did not think Qin Fei’s parents would send her to the famed Hero City in Europe. 1
Hero City was even more famous than Tianxiong City. It was the highest-ranked city in the world and the quality of education there was therefore better than Tianxiong City.
“Don’t worry! You’ll always be on my mind and I’ll always wait for you! Pinky promise!” 4
Qin Fei smiled and said when she saw Yang Tian’s frown.
Yang Tian was helpless and could only pinky promise Qin Fei. He originally thought he could very quickly get together with Qin Fei, but he did not expect that circumstances would change again. He guessed that Qin Fei’s parents were involved in this!
“Little Fei, don’t worry! When I become a high-Grade Warrior, I’ll definitely look for you in Hero City. I promise!”
Yang Tian squeezed Qin Fei’s hand and said solemnly.
“Okay!” Qin Fei nodded.
After that, Yang Tian recounted the battle that had occurred under Qin Fei’s constant questioning. Qin Fei listened, mesmerized. However, the sadness in her eyes was never truly erased…
Time passed quickly, and in a blink of an eye, it was 9.30pm. A middle-aged man came in and ushered Qin Fei out. She left unwillingly.
After Qin Fei left, Yang Tian used the Warriormate to contact his parents and let them know he was safe.
As a Warrior, even though he had yet to be confirmed, the Tianwei Military Academy had arranged for Yang Tian to be warded in a private ward. In the dead of night, Drago crawled out of the window, jumped onto Yang Tian’s pillow, and started squeaking.
Being woken up by the little pipsqueak, Yang Tian opened his eyes.
While Yang Tian was traveling back to the city, Drago had quietly slipped away in order to avoid being discovered by others. He then quietly returned in the middle of the night unnoticed.
“I won’t be able to roast meat for you in the next few days. When I get better we’ll see.” Yang Tian spoke softly to Drago.
The little green dragon squeaked twice, before jumping onto the backpack by the bed. He slithered inside, and reemerged a moment later with a yellow Beast Core.
When a warrior cultivated his abilities, they would usually push their body to its limits before consuming a beast core. This would allow their body’s characteristics to be lifted to the limits of its Grade.
Ever since Yang Tian consumed the Grade One Beast Core, he noticed his body’s strength was constantly rising. Therefore, he was not in a rush to use the Grade Two Beast Core.
However, at the time when Drago fished out the Grade Two Beast Core, it was clear that he wanted Yang Tian to consume it.
Yang Tian sat up and reached out his hand. Drago put it in his palm, and Yang Tian swallowed it without hesitation.
While he did not understand why Drago wanted him to consume the Grade Two Beast Core then, he was sure Drago had his reasons.
A moment later, Yang Tian felt the heat rise in his abdomen. The warmth spread along his entire body and at the same time, his wounds began to itch. It was as though they were healing rapidly.
“Squeak squeak!”
Drago squeaked twice, lowered his head, and scratched it for a moment. He then bit Yang Tian’s wrist.
Strangely, Yang Tian did not feel any pain from the little green dragon’s bite. There was a small but deep hole on his wrist.
Yang Tian did not know why Drago bit him, but he was sure that the little pipsqueak did not mean him any harm.
At that moment, a globule of golden ichor flowed out of the little green dragon’s head. It dripped downward onto Yang Tian’s wrist and seeped into Yang Tian’s wound. 1
When the golden blood seeped into the wound, it was as though a jolt of electricity spread from his arm to his entire body.
Boom…
Suddenly, Yang Tian felt as though his head was struck by lightning. His mind turned fuzzy, and his head hurt. In an instant, he was out cold.
“Squeak squeak squeak…”
At that moment, Drago squeaked in happiness before sliding into Yang Tian’s backpack.
Yang Tian dreamed again.
This time, he had turned into a dragon. 1
However, this time was different from the last. He was a tiny little dragon and was no longer as strong as before. He was in very adverse circumstances, and he was surrounded by strong Monsters.
In order to become strong, Yang Tian began to fight. He fought ceaselessly; eating other Monsters and slowly growing…
After what felt like tens of thousands of years, Yang Tian finally grew into a massive adult dragon. His body could be large or small. He could be as small as a finger or be ten thousand miles long, covering the entire sky. 2
In this dream, Yang Tian had obtained many amazing powers. He could understand the language of dragons, as well as the language of other Monsters.
…
Dreams always had an ending. Yang Tian finally woke up and opened both of his eyes.
At that moment, the sunlight was shining in from outside the window and filling the ward with brilliant light.
Yang Tian was still disoriented then, and in his mind, this was all still part of the dream.
“Yang Tian, you’re finally awake! You’ve been in a coma for ten days, and we just could not wake you up! The hospital did a full test and confirmed that there was nothing wrong with your body. I was worried to death.”
A moment later, Zhao Wu barged in, smiling widely as he spoke when he saw Yang Tian awake.
When Zhao Wu’s voice rang out in Yang Tian’s ears, he finally began to come to his senses.
“Ten days!”
Yang Tian very quickly regained his senses and asked in surprise.
Qin Wu1 said, “Yeah! Check your Warriormate! Has it not been ten days?”
Yang Tian immediately grabbed the Warriormate by his bedside. The little display screen showed that it was the 12th of July, 2115!
