Chapter 278: Yagyuu Yukime

Upon seeing Yagyuu Ken die, everybody felt released. Such a powerful old man would be a great threat if he ran away from this.

However, someone seemed to be unsatisfied. Zhang Tieniu said, “They are way too valuable. I thought we’d put up a good fight, but it ended so fast.”

Qin Haodong said, “Isn’t this the best result? Do you want to confront Yagyuu Ken on your own? I should’ve given you the opportunity.”

“It’s alright, I cherish my life.”

Zhang Tieniu was a little scared. He even retracted his head. He was a smart fighter. For a powerhouse like Yagyuu Ken, even ten cultivators at Zhang Tieniu’s level wouldn’t be a good match.

The onlookers all laughed as Qin Haodong added, “That was a successful fight for us. None of our people were injured. That’s the result we wanted, so it’s surely something we should be proud of.”

Everybody cheered. This had not been a thrilling fight for them, but Qin Haodong’s words did make sense.

“Okay, everybody go back now. Each of you will get 10,000 yuan for wine tonight.”

Qin Haodong waved his hand as he spoke. He asked Zhang Tie Niu and Chen Fugui to take their fellows back. The Divine Mercenaries went back to Lin Momo and escorted Wang Rubing home.

Nalan Wushuang asked, “Haodong, what should we do with this place?”

Now that this small valley was full of dead bodies, someone had to take care of them.

Qin Haodong said, “Leave it to Xiaoxian. We don’t have to bother about this.”

Many warriors from Nihon had come to the Celestial Empire, so it was a big affair. It was better that they hand the case to the related department.

“I can handle that for you, but considering the big favor I did you tonight, you’ll have to pay me back someday.”

Hu Xiaoxian cast a coquettish glance at Qin Haodong and held his neck. Then, she kissed him on the cheek.

She ignored how embarrassed Qin Haodong was and whispered to him, “My little man, tonight’s not a good time for me to pay you back. I’ll have to go to the national capital to report the big affair. You’re always causing me trouble.”

Upon seeing Nalan Wushuang’s and Qi Wan’er’s enraged eyes, Qi Haodong refused hastily. “It’s fine. We’ll leave you this place. I got to go now.”

After he said that, he fled from the scene, Nalan Wushuang and Qi Wan’er following behind him.

As she watched the view of Qin Haodong’s escaping figure, Hu Xiaoxian giggled and murmured, “Little man. What a playboy you are.”

She had already seen what Nalan Wushuang and Qi Wan’er felt for Qin Haodong. Thus, she intended to act intimately to declare her sovereignty over Qin Haodong.

After walking out of the valley, Nalan Wushuang and Qi Wan’er took Qin Haodong’s arms and asked, “Since when have you been hooking up with Hu Xiaoxian?”

Qin Haodong explained in embarrassment, “Hooking up? Don’t make it sound that nasty. We’re just ordinary friends.”

“Ordinary friends? Since when do ordinary friends get so intimate?”

“If ordinary friends can do that, maybe we should do it too!”

The two girls said as they kissed his left and right cheek.

In the villa of the Yagyuus in Nihon, Yagyuu Shinji stayed up the whole night with the sword in his arms.

The next morning, the door opened and a young woman in a warrior suit came in. She was Yagyuu Shinji’s daughter and Yagyuu Hirai’s sister, Yagyuu Yukime.

Upon seeing his daughter come in, Yagyuu Shinji asked, “Any news about the Great Senior?”

Yagyuu Yukime shook her head and said, “Nothing at all. All of them are disconnected.”

A moment later, Yagyuu Shinji seemed to age by ten more years. He had sent nearly a hundred people to the Celestial Empire, but they were all disconnected now. He knew clearly what that meant.

Moments later, he murmured, “How much hidden power does the Celestial Empire still have? How could they have swallowed a hundrend elite members of our family without even spitting out their bones?”

Yagyuu Yukime asked, “Father, is it possible that the Celestial Empire has dispatched their elite warriors?”

Yagyuu Shinji shook his head and replied, “That’s highly unlikely. The Xuanyuan Pavilion in the Celestial Empire is indeed powerful, but they’re running too many businesses. It’s impossible for them to gather so many people to confront our troops.

Moreover, given the cultivation of the Great Senior, he would be able to escape even if the Celestial Empire sent the Supreme Power Realm powerhouse. It’s so confusing. Why has he disappeared and left no trace?”

“What on earth is going on? Do I need to visit the Celestial Empire on my own? I don’t believe that there are so many powerhouses in the Celestial Empire!”

Yagyuu Yukime spoke as a powerful aura came out of her. Apparently, she was a powerhouse at the ninth level of the Covert Power.

She was known as the most talented martial arts genius to be born in the Yagyuu family in 100 years. Yagyuu Hirai would never have been the successor if she wasn’t a woman.

“No, you’re not going there. Before our family’s strength gets restored, the whole family shall never go to the Celestial Empire again!”

Yagyuu Shinji stopped Yagyuu Yukime immediately and said in confusion, “We’ve lost half of our power now, so we can’t suffer any more losses. We have to contract our power and keep the news in this family. Once it spreads, many other people will crave the rich resources of our family.”

The Yagyuu family was a new power that had emerged recently based on its great martial power. Now that it had lost so many elite members and had a powerful guardian in the Supreme Power Realm, Yagyuu Shinji, it was impossible for them to eliminate the craving of the other houses.

“Father, are we really going to do nothing? Do we really have to submit to this humiliation?”

“Yes, we will, but not now.” Yagyuu Shinji looked at Yagyuu Yukime and added, “Your priority now is to take your time and make a breakthrough as soon as you can. As long as you step into the Supreme Power Realm, we’ll have two powerhouses in that realm. When that time comes, we’ll get back to the Celestial Empire.”

“What about my brother?” asked Yagyuu Yukime.

“Life and death are decreed by fate. He’ll live if he’s lucky. We can’t sacrifice the whole family just to save him.”

“Understood, father.”

Yagyuu Yukime replied, looking quite disappointed. She hated admitting defeat, but she also knew that her father was right. She had to accept this fact.

Yagyuu Shinji addressed her again. “Send more intelligence agents to the Celestial Empire in the future and try to collect as much information on Qin Haodong as possible. We’ll definitely make him pay the price given the opportunity.”

“Father, didn’t you just say that it’s not a good time for us to go to the Celestial Empire?” Yagyuu Yukime asked in surprise.

“Indeed, we can’t go there by ourselves. Our enemies are really powerful. However, even if we don’t go there, Qin Haodong will definitely get out of the country. Once he does, that will be our chance to get revenge.”

“Understood, father.”

Yagyuu Yukime bowed before her father and turned back to leave the room.

At 9:00 am, in the conference room of Jiangnan Lin’s Group, President Lin Momo hosted a press conference to officially announce the establishment of Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company.

Qin Haodong and Lin Momo sat together on the host platform. The platform was now filled with people. Some of them were journalists who had heard about the news, while others were leukemia patients who had failed to buy the Blood Revival Oral Liquid. Their attention was caught by the establishment of Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company.

Rumor had it that if Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company put the meds into mass production, there was a chance that their illness would be cured.

When the conference started, Lin Momo officially announced the establishment of Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company. Then, she accepted questions from various media outlets.

The first reporter asked, “President Lin, I just want to ask, who’s the real boss of the Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company? Who’s in charge?”

“Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine Company was co-founded by Lin’s Group and Mr. Qin. Surely, Mr. Qin and Lin’s Group will be joint shareholders. I’ll be the president of the new company.”

“President Lin, could you tell us about the ratio of shares held by Lin’s Group and Mr. Qin? A little clue, please?”

Lin Momo smiled and said, “That’s a business secret. I’m not allowed to tell you about that.”

“Ms. Lin, on behalf of the 4 million leukemia patients in the Celestial Empire, I would like to ask you when will Tangmen Traditional Chinese Medicine start mass production? And when will the product reach the market?”

Lin Momo said, “I can’t give you an exact time. I can only say that it will happen soon. It will take lots of procedures for the medicine to get approved and produced. Our company will do its best to minimize this process.”

“President Lin, what kind of medicine are you going to produce after the establishment? Will it be Blood Revival Oral Liquid alone?”

Lin Momo answered, “Temporarily, yes. However, later we’ll produce other crucial medicine as well. One thing I can guarantee right now is that they’ll all be related to Chinese medicine.”

“President Lin, what makes you insist on producing only Chinese medicine? Isn’t that discrimination against Western medicine?”

Lin Momo was quite experienced in dealing with the media. Thus, although the journalist’s question was quite cunning, she remained calm and answered, “Actually, I’ve got a question for you. Why did you choose to be a journalist instead of a teacher? Isn’t that discrimination against teachers?”

Her words produced loud laughter in the conference room. The journalist looked so ashamed that he couldn’t even say a word.

Lin Momo then added, “We’re a Chinese Medicine company. Asking us to produce Western medicine is like trying to get a man pregnant. It’s not a discrimination issue; it’s a total constraint.”

After that answer, Lin Momo received lots of questions from various journalists. However, all her answers were convincing, leaving nothing for them to latch onto. Therefore, the reporters turned their “guns” to Qin Haodong instead.

“Mr. Qin, I would like to ask, is this Blood Revival Oral Liquid that you invented really effective against leukemia? Are there any side effects?”

Qin Haodong said, “So far, the Blood Revival Oral Liquid has been taken by 100 patients. They’ve all been cured without any side effects.”

“Mr. Qin, what will the price of the oral liquid be like when it’s put in mass production? Will it be just as expensive as other leukemia drugs?”

Qin Haodong said, “I’m a Chinese medicine practitioner, and I’ve cured two children with leukemia. I’ve always known that there were more than four million leukemia patients in the Celestial Empire and I couldn’t cure all of them by myself. Thus, I wanted to develop this medicine and help all the patients stop hurting.

I was later inspired by ancient prescriptions of traditional medicine to develop the Blood Revival Oral Liquid. The test showed that the medicine worked quite well.”

It seemed like the journalist could wait no longer. Thus, he asked again, “Mr. Qin, please answer my question. If it really works, what will the price be like?”

Qin Haodong smiled and said, “I’ve already answered. We will produce it to help leukemia patients relieve their pain. The price won’t be high. Maybe only two times the price of the cost. I can’t tell you the exact number at the moment, but I can guarantee you that it will contain only three digits.”

“Three digits, my God! That’s less than a thousand yuan. Much cheaper than the one we’re using now!”

“The one we’re using now is no match for this. Ours can only alleviate the disease and still costs 30,000 yuan per month. However, this medicine could cure the disease…”

Suddenly, another journalist asked, “Mr. Qin, you know that leukemia is currently incurable around the world. Will the Blood Revival Oral Liquid sales prioritize the Celestial Empire, or will you sell it overseas to earn foreign currency?”
