Chapter 914: Am I Under House Arrest?

Who knew how panicked Yue Tingfeng and Mrs. Yue were now that so many days had gone by? She needed to call them quickly.

The nurse shook her head. “I don’t have one. We’re here to work. We can’t use our phones. We can only take our phones back during our off days.”

Yan Qingsi crumpled in despair. “Then where can I get a phone? I need to call my boyfriend. He’ll be so worried because I haven’t been back for so long.”

The nurse shook her head. “Well…you better rest properly first. The master will tell you everything once he comes back.”

Anxiety seized Yan Qingsi. “Why can’t I just make a call? Even if… Even if…I’m here, you can’t just take away my rights to make a phone call.”

The nurse simply stared at Yan Qingsi. “The most important thing for you now is to rest. Wait for the master to come back. You can ask him everything then. My only job is to look after you.”

“Aren’t I fine already? It’s also your job to take care of my mental wellbeing. If you don’t let me make a call, I’ll become depressed. And this means…you didn’t do your job properly.”

“We can’t make any conclusions about your physical condition so soon. You had been submerged for too long, and you had swallowed a lot of water. We need to observe you for two more days. Now…your health is the most important. About your mental wellbeing, I…can’t do anything.”

Yan Qingsi massaged her forehead. Why was it so hard to make one single phone call!

No matter how she begged, how she implored, it was of no use.

“Then can I…go out and walk for a bit?” Yan Qingsi said.

The nurse shook her head. “You probably can’t. Even if I agreed to let you go, you can’t get out.”

Hmm… Yan Qingsi could not believe that. She threw the covers off herself and hopped out of bed. The moment her feet landed on the floor, her knees folded beneath her and she almost buckled over. The nurse quickly supported her. “See? I told you, your body is too weak right now. You have to stay in bed and rest.”

Yan Qingsi did not care about that. “It’s stuffy in here. I’m going out for some fresh air.”

The nurse saw that she was extremely adamant, so she had no choice but to support her all the way to the door. When the door was opened, Yan Qingsi did not even manage to take a step when a long arm blocked her way.

Yan Qingsi’s was already wheezing from the short distance. Her chest felt tight, and her breathing was unsteady. She lifted her gaze along the length of the arm. Her neck was craned to an almost ninety-degree angle before she finally saw the owner of the arm. He was way too tall, his gaze unwaveringly pined on the wall opposite him. His expression was completely wooden; he looked as though he could neither speak nor smile.

Yan Qingsi turned her head and looked at the nurse. “Am I under house arrest?”

The nurse quickly shook her head. “Of course, not. You need to stay in bed and rest now. You can only get out of bed and walk around the earliest, tomorrow. You saw it for yourself. You can barely walk.”

Yan Qingsi raised her head and stared at the pillar standing at the entrance. She took in a deep breath and leaned against the doorframe. “Hey. Can you talk?” she asked.

The person at the entrance was the man who had fished Yan Qingsi out of the lake and brought her over. He did not even bat an eyelid when Yan Qingsi spoke.

“Let’s talk if you can,” Yan Qingsi continued.

“You’re so tall. Six feet two, maybe?”

“Six feet three,” the nurse supplied quickly.

“Are you interested in becoming a model?” Yan Qingsi inquired further. “Or an actor? I can introduce you to an agent.”

“He doesn’t have an interest in any of that,” the nurse said.

Yan Qingsi glanced toward the nurse. She immediately clamped her mouth shut.

“You like him?” Yan Qingsi noticed that the nurse’s eyes brightened up the moment she saw the six feet three. It was so easy to read her.

The nurse’s cheeks reddened instantly. She shook her head vigorously. “No, no… No way…”
