Chapter 321: I Don’t Want To.

As the entire stadium quieted down, in the midst of the flames, Nalan Jie and the rest were about to step forward, a figure landed on the stage.

“Sang Qiong Li?”

As they started to be able to identify the figure on stage, everyone entered a state of shock.

It wasn’t that he wasn’t powerful enough, but that he was the one with the lowest profile within his family, and was scarcely interested in the matters related to strength and power. Even if anyone had challenged him, he might not have even taken it up. Who thought that he would be the first to step up?

“Why did brother Qiong Li go up?” The people were shocked, but the Sang family was even more taken aback. The only person who shared a close relationship with Sang Qiong Li would know, and he rubbed his chin, saying, “He can’t be going up to fight with that little punk right?”

“That punk? Who?” Everyone who heard what he said was curious about who he was referring to.

“Sima You Yue.” That person replied flatly.

Indeed, on the stage, Sang Qiong Li had watched his surroundings, and his eyes landed on the Sima Family’s side. He looked at Sima You Yue and challenged her. “Would you like to have a battle with me?” Everyone was greatly shocked. He had not chosen Huo Zi Yan, nor Nalan Jie, and although he was looking towards the Sima Family, his eyes had not landed on Sima Lin either. He had chosen someone he had never laid his eyes on before! Everyone who knew him would have known, that he was different from the normal young person. Besides those abnormal ones, he had no other companions. Yet he had given them up and chosen an Alchemy Pill Master? Could it be that his powers were even greater than those geniuses? And now, everyone was paying attention to what he was saying.

Sima You Yue was not expecting him to look for her. Shocked, she shook her head dryly. “I don’t want to.”

“Why not? Do you look down on me?” Sang Qiong Li’s expression turned sour.

“You are very powerful, and you should be good to duel with.” Sima You Yue explained. “But I’m not good to fight with, and I dislike fighting in front of this many people.”

Sang Qiong Li stayed quiet for a while, and then asked. “If I look for you elsewhere, would you then be willing to duel?”

“Perhaps.” Sima You Yue said.

“I understand.” Sang Qiong Li nodded. “I will definitely look for you.” With that, he turned on his heels and returned to his place at the Sang Family seats.

Everyone who was watching the stage looked at each other in dismay. Had they settled their matters so quickly? They thought that they would be able to watch an exciting match, or watch the shame of one side being defeated. But the issue had died down more quickly than everyone had expected. Being someone approached for battle, turning a Challenger down on the spot would cause one to be looked down upon by others. There had yet to be a circumstance where one participant had rejected a challenger, and who thought that Sima You Yue would simply reject the challenge at the bat of an eye. As a Challenger, being rejected on the spot would be an extremely embarrassing matter. But Sima Qiong Li had simply spoken a few words to Sima You Yue before returning to his place. There was no awkwardness of rejection, which was out of the ordinary.

“Both of them are simply strange!”

As neither the Challenger and Challengee had any qualms, the issue came to a quick rest.

Seeing that Sang Qiong Li had simply returned so quickly, the great geniuses simply lost their appeal. No matter how good Sima You Lin was, Huo Zi Yan’s face continued to hold his smile, and Nalan Jie’s expression became as dark as the bottom of a burnt pot. Even if Sima You Yue had accepted his challenge, he could continue to challenge the next person. But since he had returned, it meant that he had not even considered anyone else to be a worthy opponent, and that he had no desire to duel with them.

The judge had no idea that such a thing would happen, and it took awhile for him to regain his senses. He stood at the side of the stage and called. “Who is next? Forget it, just come up on your own later.” With that said, he left the stage.

“Me.” Nalan Jie sighed deep within his heart, and came up the stage. He pointed at Sang Qiong Li and said, “Sang Qiong Li, would you duel with me?”

“Wow.. So he chose Sang Qiong Li.” Fatty Qu thought out loud.

“He’s embarrassing himself.” Wei Zi Qi brandished his fan, and exuded the aura of a prince. Sima You Yue looked at the fan, and realised that the fan was a decorative divine artifact. Welding a fan like that simply changed the overall impression of the person.

“Lend me that for a bit.” She reached over and took Wei Zi Qi’s fan, and fanned herself with it. “Do I now look like a smart gentleman?”

Wei Zi Qi took out another fan, and looked at Sima You Yue, replying. “I think you now have the aura of a wretched wastrel.”

“How could that be!” Sima You Yue said. “How could a wastrel look as pure as I do?”

“Sigh….”

Fatty Qu almost rolled over from laughing, but when he noticed that Sima You Yue was staring at him, he quickly changed the topic. “Zi Qi, why do you say that he’s embarrassing himself?”

“It’s simple.” Wei Zi Qi said. “Sang Qiong Li had simply left the stage after he was turned down by Sima You Yue, it means that he is not at all interested in duelling with anyone else. I think Nalan Jie would definitely get rejected by him.”

Sima You Yue agreed. She had the same sentiments.

“Sang Qiong Li, do you dare to duel with me?” Nalan Jie asked again, loudly. The first time, Sang Qiong Li had not replied. Now that he had asked again, Sang Qiong Li simply replied flatly, “I have no interest in such battles.”

He’s not interested…

Every person was shaken by what he said. He had just approached someone for a challenge, but is disinterested now? What does this make of Nalan Jie then?

Nalan Jie’s expression darkened, and he stared at Sang Qiong Li, calling out, “Are you not interested, or are you afraid?”

“I’m not afraid. I just don’t want to.” Sang Qiong Li said. “I don’t want to.” With that, he closed his eyes once more. It was never about one’s guts, but more about whether one wants to or not. When Sima You Yue heard this, it piqued her interest in Sang Qiong Li.

His perspective on this matter was the same as hers. It was not about whether or not one was afraid, but whether or not whether one wanted to go up, and was willing to move. Only people of calibre could say things like that! No wonder he was not shaken by what she had said, and that he was satisfied enough with her answer for a fight on another occasion to be willing to leave the stage just like that. It was because their ideology was the same.

Nalan Jie remained rooted to the stage, dying of awkwardness. Of course, this was because he did not have the same confidence that Sang Qiong Li had. There were no obligations to accept a challenge, and now that your opponent has rejected you, one can’t simply force them to, could he? It was just that no one else has met with an circumstance like this one.

“Since Sang Qiong Li refuses to, we shall count this round as your victory! You can enter the next round!” The referee below announced.

Although he was judged as the winner, because it was a walkover, it wasn’t a victory worth mentioning. But Nalan Jie said nothing, but unleashed all his anger at his next opponent. He watched his surroundings, and his eyes eventually landed on Sima You Lin. “Sima You Lin, do you dare to duel with me?”

Sima You Lin was not at all surprised by his challenge, and had never intended to avoid him either. He straightened his attire and stood up, and flew over to the stage.

Nalan Jie looked at Sima You Lin and said. “I just knew, that we would eventually have a duel.”

Sima You Lin looked at Nalan Jie dryly and said, “Let’s get started, then.”
