Chapter 329: Many Sacred Beasts

It was only after a period of time passed before Sima You Yue woke up, her pillow drenched with her tears.

“You Yue, you’re awake?” Sima You Lin asked, as he watched her wake up.

Sima You Yue raised her hands to rub her temples with her hand, only to realise that her arms were grasping tightly to Sima You Lin’s hand. She released his hands, and noticed that his hands had been bruised by her grasp, and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, I hurt you.”

“It’s alright.” Sima You Lin said, smiling. “Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Sima You Yue sat up and said, “I’m alright now, where is Halcyon?”

“He said he was going to explore, and left.” Sima You Lin said.

“Oh. What happened to me?” She rubbed her temples, trying to relieve the pain in her head.

“Don’t you know what happened to you?” Sima You Lin asked.

Sima You Yue shook her head, saying, “I only remembering a cry, and I don’t remember the rest.”

Sima You Lin explained everything that happened to her, and upon hearing that she had roared and pushed back the underground river, her mouth fell open.

“I am this powerful?” she blinked, with an expression of self-admiration.

He wasn’t sure why, but when Sima You Lin saw her like this, the knot in his heart undid itself.

“So it was Crimson Flame who saved me.” Sima You Yue said, before she suddenly cried out.

“What happened?” Sima You Lin asked nervously.

“I think I remember waking up, and I saw a handsome man, and I even called him Crimson Flame! I thought I was dreaming, but it seems like it really did happen!” Sima You Yue said in shock.

Sima You Lin looked at Sima You Yue irritatedly, because he thought that she had cried out and reacted so greatly in pain or discomfort, but it was just because of this insignificant issue.

After a while, Halcyon returned, with some injuries on his body.

“You’re hurt, Halcyon!” Sima You Yue hopped off the bed and asked, looking at Halcyon.

“Just a little.” Halcyon said.

Sima You Yue had already rested for quite some time, and so she kept her bed, and walked over to Halcyon and tugged on his shoulder, noticing that there was a ferocious gash on him that stretched from his shoulder to his wrist.

“How did you get hurt?” Sima You Yue asked as she took out a pill for Halcyon to eat. She also took out some of the antiseptic medicine that she had personally made in her spare time to clean his wounds, before applying some medicated powder and wrapping up his wound.

“His Honour said to bring you to meet the oppressed life-being, so I wanted to check out how dangerous the route would be, so I went to take a look.” Halcyon said. “But I never thought that I would get injured so early in the journey.”

“Crimson Flame wants me to meet that life-being?” Sima You Yue looked at Halcyon, not understanding why Crimson Flame would want her to do such a thing. That life-being had been oppressed for so long that even her Master Teacher had no way to get close to it, yet Crimson Flame wanted her to approach it? Was he not afraid that that life-being would wipe her out in a single blow?

“He said that your going there would bring you some benefit.” Halcyon said.

“Alright.” She believed that Crimson Flame would not do her any harm. “But you and Master could not go close to it, how could I possibly go there?”

“He said that you only need to move forward, and that will be all.” Halcyon passed on what Crimson Flame had said.

“Seriously, why couldn’t he just tell me himself?” Sima You Yue murmured in dissatisfaction, as she turned to look at Halcyon and Sima You Lin, saying, “This place still feels safer, why don’t the both of you wait for me here?”

“No way.” Sima You Lin rejected immediately. “It’s so dangerous there, how could I let you go yourself?”

Halcyon nodded his head, saying, “And, the moment you leave, this place is no longer safe.”

That underground river had been pushed back by her roar, but who knew if the moment she left, would that strange water just return as it had been? Sima You Yue thought so as well, if they really met danger on their way, she could simply just hide them all to the Spirit Pagoda, and so she agreed to letting them come with her.

“But, where do we go now?” Sima You Yue looked around, and realised that she did not even know where she was. How was she going to find that life-being?

“This is tough.” Sima You Lin said.

“Use your heart.” Crimson Flame’s voice suddenly rang out.

Sima You Yue was shocked, but quickly closed her eyes to feel. And suddenly, the dark spirit energy in her started to move, and that dark aura started to emit from her body again.

“Hm?” She opened her eyes and looked at the two of them, asking, “Did you guys hear that voice?”

“What voice?” Sima You Lin and Halcyon shook their heads. They were only able to feel her body emitting that dark energy, but they had not heard anything.

Sima You Yue thought for a while before she said, “I think I heard some instruction or something, maybe from that life-being, but I know where to go now. Let’s go.”

She brought of them towards a certain direction, and where the roads diverged, she closed her eyes to feel again, and pointed out the direction to take. This made the journey take up half the day, and they were finally able to make their way out of that maze-like path.

“Something’s strange.” Sima You Lin said, as he stopped in his path not long after their escape.

“What happened?” Sima You Lin stopped to ask.

“Do you feel like the temperature here is kind of low?” Sima You Lin said.

As a Spirit Master, and because of the aura in his body, he had stopped being able to feel temperatures accurately. But when he entered this place, he suddenly felt so cold that his body started to shake.

“I don’t feel anything!” Sima You Yue said, looking at Halcyon. Halcyon also shook his head, saying, “It is sort of chilly, but it’s not that cold.”

“You Lin, are you okay?” Sima You Yue walked over and stretched out her hand to touch his, saying, “Your temperature is really low.”

“Maybe something here is affecting him.” Halcyon suggested.

“Do you want to….”

“I’m alright, I can still continue.” Sima You Lin interrupted her before she could finish.

“Hm, the temperature has increased.” Sima You Yue said, feeling that the temperature of Sima You Lin’s hands had increased.

Sima You Lin suddenly felt that something was not normal, and said, “After you held my hand, I stopped feeling so cold.”

“Let’s continue doing this then.” Sima You Yue said.

So she held onto Sima You Lin’s hand, and carefully moved forward.

Sima You Lin felt the tenderness of her hands, and felt the unrest in him become calm.

“Look around you.” Halcon suddenly said, pointing to the dark walls.

Sima You Yue and Halcyon put their flames closer to the walls, and got a shock as they realised what was on the walls.

“How are there so many spirit beasts?” Sima You Yue said.

Inside both walls, there were many spirit beasts quietly lingering in the stones, as if they were printed on the walls, without any breath or aura flowing through them.

“All these beasts, are at least Sacred Beasts.” Halcyon said, observing them. Sima You Yue and Sima You Lin were unable to tell, but they believed what Halcyon said.

“I thought that the Yi Lin Continent did not have many sacred beasts, how are there so many here?” Sima You Lin wondered.

“I think, all these are guardian beasts.”
