Chapter 166: – You are the well-loved bunny on the moon. You are a firm and steady Osmanthus tree. You are a round and tasty mooncake… (3)

“What can I do for you, Miss Li?”

Gu Shishi stopped in her way.

The sneaky silhouette froze immediately.

Obviously, the other party felt that her disguise was pretty good already. She didn’t think that… Gu Shishi would have recognized her right away!

Li Yiru gritted her teeth and finally pulled her shades down halfway and nodded at Gu Shishi.

Somewhat embarrassed, she blushed a little.

What could she do for her…

She… she couldn’t bring herself to say them out loud!

Gu Shishi didn’t bother waiting for her to mull over it. She turned around and left.

Li Yiru stomped her foot and gave chase behind her.

“You are almost done with work. My car is downstairs. Let’s have a talk. I will take you to dinner.”

Gu Shishi gave her a go-figure-it-out-yourself look.

“If you are in my shoes and I am asking you out now, will you go?”

Li Yiru gasped.

Their relationship has not improved.

But… Her bank card had been frozen and she was furloughed without pay from work. Her father was having human resource work on her exit process!

She thought her dad was just saying it at first and would soften up in a few days.

But, last night, he even had the lawyer come over to draft a rental contract and asked her to pay for three months’ rent in advance and one month’s rent as deposit. That came out to be 20,000 yuan. Or she would have to move out right away.

20,000 yuan. That about emptied out her bank account.

As for her credit card… the bank had informed her this morning that her limit had been lowered!

She was backed against a wall!

She could go ask her girlfriends for help, but that’d severely bruise her ego…

Her family business was being threatened, that’d rock her standing in her friends’ circle.

Her father meant business this time and her mother was also on his side. Even her grandfather and big brother who had always doted on her told her to be on good terms with Gu Shishi!

“Um, I mean no ill will. Really!”

Right now Li Yiru only has enough money left for food.

She went out with her girlfriends for lunch this afternoon then went shopping with them. Through gritted her teeth and a bitter smile, she spent 10,000 yuan.

Everybody asked why she was so frugal today…

That 10,000 yuan, she’d probably have to sell a few pairs of her AJ shoes… after they have been listed for a few days and were sold, she could pay her credit card debt off.

Really…. She really didn’t know what else she could do!

“I just wanted to treat you to dinner then take you home.”

Her father would give her 1,000 yuan to dine with Gu Shishi and 10,000 yuan to go home with her.

Li Yiru thought about it long and hard for the last 2-3 days and finally couldn’t help but thought she’d give it a shot today.

But, she was worried that she’d run into someone that she knew in this shopping center and saw that she was buttering up to Gu Shishi. And that was why she came fully loaded, complete with hat and shades.

“If you’d come with me, I’ll buy you gifts. Just let me know what you like! If… if only you’d have dinner with me, I can give you my limited-edition AJ, purses. Just tell me what you want!”

Li Yiru was about to offer up her entire collection.

Yet, the only thing she got in return was Gu Shishi’s carefree back.

“I have not done anything that’d warrant that. You should go look for your girlfriends,” said Gu Shishi as she closed the bathroom door without looking back.

Li Yiru froze on the spot.

“Then what is it that you want? You want me to help you? To go up against Wushuang? But that’s…”

That’s impossible!

She would never betray her friend!

Before she could even say that out loud, she heard Gu Shishi’s voice through the bathroom door.

“Miss, you’ve been following me for a good half of the day now. Do I look like I have that kind of time to mess around with you people?”

Li Yiru blushed.

“It hasn’t been a good half of the day…”

She felt embarrassed, so she had paced back and forth in front of the art studio.

And, truthfully… Gu Shishi was telling the truth. She did seem quite busy.
