Chapter 512 – Huo Shishen pressed down between his brows and decided to just pick her up and carry her away. (2)

Mother Gu’s lips tightened a bit. “Will a smart person keep on walking forward when they see a pit right in front of them?

“WenCheng, you have always been a smart one so why are you walking into a dead end recently? Your mother refuses to accept Wushuang, so why are you wasting your time here?”

The answer was waiting right there in Huo Wencheng’s mind. He had thought about it in the past but he felt that it was too overly selfish and, as such, had not had the courage to face it.

“You mean we can get a divorce… … temporarily?”

He voice was odd when he said “temporarily”.

Mother Gu, sitting right in front of him, was the victim of the exact word.

Mother Gu’s eyes turned a little cold but she still snickered. “I am a failure when it comes to my marriage but you young people are not the same as me.

“Besides, it sort of a proof as well, right? If you truly love each other, your relationship will still last forever with or without your marriage certificate. Look at that secretary, she finally becomes your Uncle Gu’s wife now, right? When there are issues in a relationship, the law will still not be able to protect it even with a marriage certificate.

“It is just a formality. It will not keep one’s heart.”

Huo Wencheng had no idea whether he should smile or reply to her.

Feeling awkward, he merely touched his nose.

“There are two main reasons why your mother objects to this marriage. 1) the Gu family is about to drop off from the tier 1 ranking in our circle and 2) nobody knows whether Wushuang will be able to have children.”

Huo Wencheng did not make a sound. As such, Mother Gu carried on.

Touching her fingers, she said, “Neither one of these can be resolved within the next year, year-and-a-half; however, if you can for another 2 ~ 3 years, both of them will resolve themselves. Wushuang has already started to take over Gu family’s businesses. How bad can it get with you helping her from the sideline? All she needs is the perfect opportunity to turn things around!

“As for having kids. All she needs is a year’s rest, then she can have her eggs extracted and find a surrogate mother overseas. See? None of these are issues when you have money.”

Mother Gu has mental clarity and everything that she said made a lot of sense.

Even Huo Wencheng had that illusion for a second there.

He had rushed to get the marriage certificate with Wushuang for the sake of giving her the peacefulness of mind before her surgery. In hindsight, he had not thought things through entirely!

Mother Gu was right, in a few years’ time, even if these problems still could not be resolved but once he returned home and take over the management of the Huo’s businesses and when his mother has stepped back from it, what more would she be able to do?

The only reason he was in his current predicament was because he didn’t have enough power and not yet prepared to take on his mother!

Time was exactly what he lacked!

“If you are gone from the Huo Corporation for a year or two, the management will be a whole different crew as well as your business partners. How much time do you think it will take you to re-establish yourself?”

Mother Gu put down her tea cup.

Huo Wencheng felt like he was hit the truth.

Wushuang knew nothing about management but the first thing that she did when she took over was to switch out all of Gu Jiangxin’s old crew and brought up a crew of her own.

So what about his little sister?

With the backing of their Big Brother, would she really give up her spot in 2 years’ time when his mother has forgiven him?

His little sister was more stubborn and has a stronger personality than even Wushuang!

She would not just wait for his return docilely!

“Get a divorce for now and earn back your mother’s trust. That is what is most important to you right now.”

Mother Gu sighed and sounded like an elder with his best interest in mind.
