Chapter 822: Future Plans

Thankfully, she had levitated Bai Qinghao to a sufficient height and he was not bitten.

Fang Xinxin’s gaze remained cold as Bai Qinghao’s body floated onto the tree branch she was standing on.

Since his body was heavy, she ended up using a lot of energy. Her body felt weak and she swayed a little.

Bai Qinghao quickly caught hold of her and kept her from falling.

There were still a lot of snakes near them. The snakes appeared to sense that they were on the tree and began to slither upwards.

Bai Qinghao glanced at the thick vines growing around the tree. He tugged on three of them and twisted them into a rope. He then reached upwards and looped it around the tree branch above them in a ‘U’ shape. He held onto both ends of the rope and said to Fang Xinxin, “Hold onto me tightly!”

Fang Xinxin immediately embraced his shoulders tightly. Before the snakes could reach them, Bai Qinghao held onto Fang Xinxin and swung forward with force. He calculated the amount of strength needed carefully and they landed exactly on the tree across them.

They repeated this over and over again and quickly escaped from the snakes.

Fang Xinxin glanced back at the hatchet afar. She felt upset having to give up on it. It hadn’t been easy traveling this far yet they were returning empty handed.

Furthermore, though she had recovered significantly, there were more and more blisters on Bai Qinghao’s hands these days.

He had been breaking all the firewood which they used by hand. Even the shed had been made from his bare hands.

At times, he even had to jump on the tougher wood to break them.

Although he always picked the softer and smaller ones, it was still very tough on him.

Furthermore, since they couldn’t wait for rescue, they had plans to build a wooden raft to escape.

That would require a lot of thick wood. It was impossible to do so without a hatchet.

Thus, Fang Xinxin’s gaze turned cold as she glanced at the hatchet from afar. It soared towards them across the air.

Bai Qinghao understood why his wife insisted on having the hatchet. He did not stop her.

She plucked a large leaf and used it to catch the hatchet. She shouted immediately. “Let’s run!”

They had made it away from the snakes and were running in the direction of the beach.

They had endured many difficult circumstances to make it this far and their bodies had become strong.

They were able to make it out of the place quickly.

In a blink of an eye, they were gone.

Bai Qinghao remained behind his wife the whole time to ensure none of the snakes would reach her.

After making it past a certain distance, they looked back to see that the snakes were retreating.

They understood that the venomous snakes were guarding the portion of the forest which was engulfed with poisonous mist. They would not leave their territory.

It was no wonder they had never encountered a single venomous snake despite living in their shed for so long.

They finally heaved a sigh of relief and headed to the beach.

Bai Qinghao washed the hatchet thoroughly with sea water. He scrubbed it repeatedly with mud and soaked it several times to ensure that there wasn’t any scent clinging onto it.

The traces of the mist in the forest were still present on their skin, so they took a quick shower with seawater and washed their clothes.

Fang Xinxin hid in the shed in only her underwear.

She often did this! At times, she only wore her underwear, and at other times, she wore everything but her underwear.

She had no choice as they did not have any other clothes with them.

They had planned on escaping with a raft made from wood. After all, they could not spend the winter here. They were bound to freeze to death.

With Bai Qinghao’s watch as a compass, they wouldn’t have to fear losing their direction in the ocean..
