Chapter 99: Past Life Scores Waiting to Be Settled

That crone and that man with sharp features glared at Lu Xuan, wanting nothing more than to tear him to pieces.

They had never suffered such a defeat before, and worse still, they were both crippled by Shi Danze. While it was Shi Danze who made the move, it was nonetheless the young man before them who ordered the hit.

Having their cultivation totally destroyed meant that they, who had previously seen themselves as gods among men, were reduced to being mere mortals.

Their pride did not allow them to accept such a fate.

However, they dared not resist at that moment, so much so that they dared not even flinch because they noted just cold Lu Xuan’s eyes were. If they were to dare to do anything funny, it would probably be the end of them.

They knew of such looks in someone’s eyes very well, as those eyes bore the expression they had had when they were looking down at those they perceived to be ants, after all.

But then again, they were somewhat consoled by how boastful Lu Xuan behaved.

You’re gonna pay for what you’ve done to us, you piece of sh*t!

Lu Xuan spoke after sitting around for a while. “Shi Danze, keep an eye on these two. If they dare to pull anything funny, end them.”

“Yes, young master,” Shi Danze said right away.

Lu Xuan then rose and said to Ling Huang, “I’d head up and take care of that Gu Curse, just so to rid us of any further troubles.”

“Thank you, Mr. Lu!” Ling Huang said with an overjoyed tone.

He had been worried sick about his daughter’s condition. As for Shi Danze, he did not feel the man was out of place at all.

He had long thought Lu Xuan to probably be some disciple of some hidden sect or clan, and it was entirely within reason that he had such a formidable servant serving him.

Lu Xuan and Ling Huang headed up to Ling Fei’s room. They stood by her side and lifted the blanket before lifting up her pajamas a bit to reveal her abdomen. It was obvious that Ling Fei had been diligent in her training, as there was not even a hint of flab seen on her midsection.

Lu Xuan pressed his hand on her abdomen gently. Shocking slipperiness was sent from his palm as he began to work his magic, sending spirit qi into Ling Fei’s abdomen through his hand.

Lu Xuan quickly sensed something like a bug crawling inside of Ling Fei’s body through the feedback from the spirit qi he sent inside. Very thin threads spread out from that bug’s body, branching into her musculature.

While it would not have been easy to clean something like that up, Lu Xuan’s precise control of spirit qi meant that it would not have been all that difficult for him.

Ling Huang watched by his side, not daring to make a sound.

Lu Xuan pulled his qi back ten minutes later and exhaled deeply.

“So, it’s done, Mr. Lu?” He looked at Lu Xuan with doubtful eyes. While he was able to vaguely see the spirit emanating from Lu Xuan’s hand, he hardly saw anything else and wondered if the procedure had really ended.

Lu Xuan nodded and said, “Indeed. I’ve just destroyed that curse in her stomach a moment ago.”

Lu Xuan’s prowess was such that it was very easy for him to kill such a curse. However, given how the curse had already been inside her for days and had begun to meld with her body, killing the curse while preventing any harm from coming to Ling Fei took some effort.

But then again, given how experienced he had become when it came to dealing with such threats, he had an easier time dealing with it than he had in his past life.

“There’s no need to extract anything?” Ling Huang asked, feeling rather worried.

“No need for that. The bug responsible for the curse is a semi-ethereal being instead of one of flesh and blood. The bug absorbed quite a lot of ambient Spiritual Qi, and I’ve taken to dispersing all that Spiritual Qi into her body instead. This is her chance at furthering her cultivation, as what I did helped her to absorb all that qi.” Lu Xuan continued, “While the Soul-snatcher Gu Curse is dangerous, it’s something that only absorbs ambient Spiritual Qi through its host in earlier stages. As such, I’ve taken to cleaning up her insides a little bit using all that qi, which will make it easier for her to continue in cultivation.”

Ling Huang was unable to understand everything that he had just heard, but he was, nonetheless, able to catch some points. He knew that the curse had been destroyed, and all that Spiritual Qi accumulated by the curse over the past several days had been used to feed Ling Fei instead, helping to remodel her body.

It was apparently a very good thing for her.

Lu Xuan nodded. He was able to tell from one look, that Ling Fei had become a cultivator, and she had only been embarking on the path as of late. She was of decent talent, to begin with, and the act of using the curse to her benefit had remodeled her body somewhat, enabling her talent to improve considerably.

That was the opportunity that Lu Xuan spoke of before.

The Soul-snatcher Gu Curse had grades as well, and Lu Xuan’s probing found that the one that she was hit with was the top of the line, so much so that only one or two such bugs were found in the entire Soul-snatcher Sect. Those bugs were considered king level beings; otherwise, the effects of improving her constitution would not have been so pronounced.

“Thank you, Mr. Lu, thank you very much indeed!” Ling Huang thanked Lu Xuan feverishly.

He would not have behaved in such a manner if it was something that only had to do with himself. The case at the moment was one that had to do with his daughter, so the feverish behavior was expected, given how excited he was.

“A piece of cake, actually.” Lu Xuan then added, “Furthermore, I had scores to settle with that sect, to begin with, and this is a good chance for me to get back at them.”

While the scores to be settled were something as a result of things that had happened in his past life, a man would get back at those who had wronged him ten lifetimes ago all the same.

Intense fighting was then heard from the living room.

 “He’s here.”

Ling Huang recalled what that crone said right away—the thing about the young master of the Soul-snatcher Sect, who wanted to be his son-in-law.

Lu Xuan remained unfazed, apparently having sensed the man coming long ago.

“Let’s go,” Lu Xuan said calmly and walked outside of the room.

A man was seen fighting with Shi Danze in the living room.

Shi Danze’s level of cultivation was at the Martial Arts Legend level, yet he was actually at a disadvantage when fighting the intruder.

The intruder appeared to be in his late twenties and looked plain, but the vicious and condescending look on his face was unmistakable. His attire looked rather expensive, yet it did not get in the way of him fighting.

He wore knuckledusters on both hands and fought in a domineering manner. He was actually able to even corner Shi Danze, making the latter look very bad due to being completely overwhelmed.

Lu Xuan detected what was wrong right away. While Shi Danze had been getting into Level Six and became a Martial Arts Legend not all that long ago, he was still a solid Martial Arts Legend level fighter, and he should not have looked so overwhelmed, regardless of how powerful his opponent was.

Shi Danze was so overwhelmed that he was only evading attacks, not attacking.

Lu Xuan was immediately able to recognize the man in his late twenties. It was none other than the young master of the sect—Qiu Qianying.

Lu Xuan knew of that man back in his past life. However, Qiu Qianying looked considerably younger than he did when Lu Xuan first saw him in his past life.

Qiu Qianying was already middle-aged when Lu Xuan first saw him, and the former definitely did not look as young.

“He used something capable of nullifying mental impacts, eh? No wonder Shi Danze looks so completely overwhelmed.” Lu Xuan was able to tell why Shi Danze looked so stressed right away.

Qiu Qianying packed defensive power items capable of nullifying mental impacts on his person, which completely rendered all mental impacts dished out by Shi Danze entirely useless.

If it had not been for Shi Danze having dabbled in the fighting arts and being able to move nimbly, which enabled him to evade one deadly attack after another, he would have been killed with a single punch within just three moves from his opponent.
