Chapter 779: Catch-up between the Master and the Disciple, An Attack Out to Crush Everything

Everyone was getting so excited that they ended up in a frenzy.

Even after ten thousand years, the sacred ancestor was like a god to them.

That would be akin to common human beings on Earth seeing their gods, prophets, buddhas, or whatever other deities they believed in.

The sight drove everyone wild.

“The sacred ancestor… How could the sacred ancestor advent again? Is it that Sacred Ancestral Stele?” Xuanyangzi seemed to recall what was happening right away. If there were to be any place harboring the sacred ancestor in the form of an energy construct, it would be that Sacred Ancestral Stele.

It was especially so considering that he had witnessed the mystical phenomena of that stele not too long ago.

As such, it wasn’t all that far-fetched to deduce that the Sacred Ancestral Stele actually harbored the spirit of the sacred ancestor.

“Feng Qingming, I haven’t seen you for 10000 years. You won’t even address your teacher properly anymore, huh?” The sacred ancestor grinned as he looked at that young man before him, recalling all the memories that they shared.

That young man before him was none other than one of his disciples, Feng Qingming.

When he first met Feng Qingming, he saw the young man’s exceptional talents and took him in as his disciple before never taking in any others for the next millennium to come.

The sacred ancestor taught the young man everything he knew with the intention of fostering a pillar for the next generation to take on the Blood Devil.

Back then, the sacred ancestor was so old that he had already witnessed the deaths of all of his other disciples before dying himself.

His disciples were mostly capable of only reaching Three Flowers at One’s Prominence level, but they all had a limited lifespan; they couldn’t live beyond 2000 years even if he found any herbs for extending one’s lifespan. They died before him all the same.

Due to such an experience, the sacred ancestor hardly took any other disciples in his late years. He wanted to avoid having to plunge himself into the deep sorrow of losing one of his loved ones.

Even so, he made an exception with Feng Xingming.

However, the longer he taught Feng Qingming, the more he found that young man to have ulterior motives. At some point, the young man no longer bothered hiding his true motives.

The situation continued until the sacred ancestor took it upon himself to get rid of Feng Qingming.

If he were in his prime, he would have been able to overwhelm Feng Qingming with a single finger. yet due to his very advanced age by then, he was unable However, his old age rendered him incapable of taking down his disciple before the latter could escape.

Instead, he ended up severely injured from the intense battle and died shortly afterward.

Since then, his former disciple never appeared to the world.

At one point, he was extremely proud of his disciple. Now, however, he could no longer tolerate his disciple who set his sights on the bloodline of born Taoism aptitude.

To make matters worse, he put such sinister thoughts into action and actually hunted down over 200 of his descendants within just the span of 100 years.

That was why the sacred ancestor was so angry at his disciple.

That disciple was apparently testing his limits.

Feng Qingming cupped his hands. Without putting up any pretenses, he gleefully said, “Greetings, master! I haven’t seen you for 10000 years. It’s a pity that you’re mere rotten bones in a grave while I, as you could see, am still in my prime.”

That was when Xuanyangzi finally realized why his Spirit Flower was so powerless against that of Feng Qingming. ‘I see. Now I see how his Spirit Flower had reached such a powerful state.’

Xuanyangzi toiled for nearly 1000 years, spending hundreds of years steeped at the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm alone. That alone was shocking enough, but the youthful Feng Qingming was actually some ancient one who had been around 10000 years ago.

That young man was actually from the time of the sacred ancestor.

Even the f when it came to seniority alone. When it came to seniority, even the founding sectmaster of the Immemorial Path had to refer to Feng Qingming as his “grandmaster”.

As the grandmaster of his grandmaster, that young man was a truly old monster.

That perfectly explained why Xuanyangzi lost.

Feng Qingming was such an old monster that Xuanyangzi, who was commonly known as an old deity himself, paled in comparison.

Overcome with despair, the sacred ancestor said, “In the end, you chose to walk along the path of evil. Don’t you see that this is the way that the Blood Devil left behind just to lead you astray?”

The sacred ancestor had looked into the matter back in the day, seeing the work of the Blood Devil in Feng Qingming’s deeds. That Blood Devil was able to do as it pleased all over the continent back then, after all.

Despite eventually being sealed away, he still managed to leave behind many remnants of himself in various forms. After generations of sacred ones spent ages eliminating such threats, they eventually managed to eradicate the threat.

The path that the disciple had taken was evidently the work of that Blood Devil’s temptations.

“Led astray, you say?” Feng Qingming burst out laughing so hard that he had to cover his face with his hand to contain himself. “You actually think that I’ve been led astray, old man? 10000 years passed and not even your bones remained, while I remain this powerful. Even with that, you’re saying that I’m the one who has been led astray here?”

Feng Qingming continued laughing. He had been working in the shadows for the past 10000 years, watching as things changed throughout the entire continent. It was as if he was a god manipulating events from the shadows throughout the continent.

He had even set up countless sacred ones to have the blood of the younger generation flow in his veins. This allowed him to be reborn as much as he wanted; that was how he managed to live up to the present day.

He had remained at his peak the whole time, yet his master also deemed all of it to be worthless. The anger that he had kept suppressed for so long immediately burst out.

“Even if you’re still alive right now, I wouldn’t be afraid of an old man like you, let alone just a construct of energy as you are now.”

His expression became rather sinister.

The sacred ancestor simply shook his head and continued, “You’re still at the level of Three Flowers at One’s Prominence even after so long, yet you have no idea what you did wrong? 10000 years are enough time for even a pig to start flying. Your current condition is only a slight improvement from before. The path you walk has led you astray; regardless of how powerful you make yourself out to be, all of that is but an illusion.”

Feng Qingming wore a sinister expression as he shouted, “Stop spewing nonsense. I’m still alive today, while you’ve been dead for a while now. That itself says enough about the situation. Enough catching up between us for today, though. Don’t blame me for erasing whatever remains of you. I’m going to kill every last member of the Immemorial Path, and no one could stop me!”

With a serious expression, the sacred ancestor replied, “Failing to get rid of you in time back then is my greatest regret and guilt, but I’ll now do what I should have done all those years ago.”

“What’s that? Do what you should have done? You seriously think you’re capable of that?”

Feng Qingming then laughed out loud again, making it apparent that he thought nothing of the sacred ancestor.

If the sacred ancestor was still alive and well, Feng Qingming would have turned around and bolted without any hesitation. However, he had nothing to fear since the being standing before him was merely an energy construct.

“Alright then, take this!”

The sacred ancestor took to the skies and quickly grew in size, reaching a staggering height of over 100 kilometers.

The unbelievably massive sacred ancestor slowly brought his hand down, causing everything around him to tremble.

Its formless yet massive force bore down on everything beneath it.

That one hand looked like it was out to crush everything.
