Chapter 223: Taiyi Metal

He did not look displeased at all.

The others knew little of that Huaxian fighter who had caused a huge commotion out there for some time as of late, but not him; he knew all too well who that man was.

It was especially so after he learned of how his master managed to wreck the Seventh Fleet of the American Navy all alone. There was no doubt that this fact shocked him to the core.

At that moment, he came to see Lu Xuan as something like a god.

When Lu Xuan gave the order to search for any news regarding Taiyi Metal, he went on to mobilize all his relations and contacts to search for anything related to said metal.

It did not take him long to find the metal his master sought after. However, the owner of that piece of metal simply refused to sell it, regardless of the price offered.

That was why Lu Xuan went to Luo City personally.

Lu Xuan’s status was so high now that he could get his hands on any treasure the planet had to offer, so long as he bothered voicing such intentions.

However, Taiyi Metal was different; it was simply too precious. The metal had certain properties where one only needed to add a bit of it into the forging of any weapon to make it invincible.

Power items forged using Taiyi Metal would have sported powers a cut far above that of the usual variants.

Lu Xuan would not have had to come all the way there himself otherwise.

If it had been in his past life, that bit of metal would not have piqued his interests. Countless would come offering mountains of such materials if he were to just say that he wanted such items.

At present, however, he had to come personally.

“If someone actually refuses such an offer, they’re probably after something else other than money then,” Lu Xuan added.

While Taiyi Metal was indeed incredibly precious, one billion yuan for a single piece was still a price like no other, after all. If the seller were actually looking for a buyer, half of that amount would have made them sell the item while smiling from ear to ear.

It was obvious that the supposed seller was after something even bigger instead.

It was due precisely to such a reason that Lu Xuan opted to make the trip himself, just so to see for himself what the supposed buyer was after.

“That would be quite an insight, master. I thought so myself, too.”

Yang Chengsi nodded.

Lu Xuan came to meet the owner of that piece of metal in a manor on the outskirts of Luo City about two hours later.

“So, you’re Japanese then?” Lu Xuan looked and was quite surprised to find the owner to not only be Japanese but a woman as well.

The Japanese woman looked to be in his twenties, which an intricate, chiseled appearance and dressed in Kendo uniform—white top and black bottom. She sported a voluptuous figure and looked very alluring.

“Indeed. But given your reputation, Mr. Lu, I don’t suppose you’d be afraid of a girl like me, would you?” The Japanese woman flashed a very attractive smile and continued, “My name is Shida Miwako. Pleased to meet you, Mr. Lu.”

“So, you were luring me out here on purpose then?” Lu Xuan looked at her and asked.

Lu Xuan narrowed his sense, and she sensed an immense threat looming over her. She was able to tell instinctively that Lu Xuan would have actually ended her right there and then if he so fancied.

She was very confident in her looks, and most people would have thought twice about killing someone so pretty. However, none of that charm seemed to work on Lu Xuan.

If she were to really infuriate Lu Xuan, he might have actually been ferocious enough to take her out.

“I did play some tricks, and for that, I beg your forgiveness,” she replied.

“Well, given how you went through all that trouble to get me out here, I’d be lying if I say that I’m not curious as to what you’re trying to play here,” Lu Xuan continued plainly.

She bowed respectfully and continued, “I’d like you to kill someone for me, Mr. Lu.”

“Who would that be?” Lu Xuan asked.

“It’d be inconvenient for me to name the target right now. But if I were to have such a need in the future, I do sincerely hope that you’d come to my aid,” she added.

“So you think you could get me to kill someone for you with just one piece of Taiyi Metal? Are you saying that I’d have to kill the president of the United States for you if you so ask?” Lu Xuan smirked coldly and asked.

She sighed, knowing all too well that Lu Xuan was not like those admirers of hers who would have heeded her every whim, and who would have gotten very excited and high from just a few words of praise from her.

“You do know how to jest, Mr. Lu. This piece of metal is but only a gift. If I had any intentions of killing someone in the future and need your aid, you’d still be free to choose whether to act or not.” She then added, “It will be worth your time when such a time comes.”

Lu Xuan looked at her, thinking that the piece of Taiyi Metal was worth at least several hundred million yuan. It might even fetch a price well over one billion yuan in an auction.

There was no doubt that the piece of metal was something very precious, yet in her eyes, it was but a gift to forge a connection with Lu Xuan.

She was definitely plotting something very huge. Lu Xuan was no fool. He knew that the person that she intended to kill would most probably be someone really troublesome. She would not have needed to go to such lengths otherwise.

There was no way he would have just agreed to it.

“In that case, I’ll take your gift then.”

Lu Xuan did not bother with pleasantries. He really needed such a piece of metal to forge his new sword, after all.

That sword would boost his combat capacity by over 50 percent.

She was relieved to see Lu Xuan take her gift. While Lu Xuan did not fall for her charm, he did not refuse her either.

But then again, she knew just how adamant the will of the man in front of her, and he definitely was not someone she could mobilize with simple conditions.

However, she simply had no other options. She was unable to think of anyone other than Lu Xuan being capable enough to kill that person, and take revenge for her family.

She would have been willing to do just about anything, even if she were to give everything she got to see her goals be achieved, which included even herself.

She deemed Lu Xuan to probably be the only man in the world capable of pulling off such a feat.

She had been wracking her brains to find a way to make an acquaintance with him ever since she came to know of him, eventually finding an opportunity to allow her to forge such a connection.

“In that case, I will gladly hand the Taiyi Metal over to you, Mr. Lu.” She continued, “Consider it a gift from a friend.”

“This is some ‘friend’ indeed.”

Lu Xuan took the wooden box that she handed over. There was a piece of a rock about the size of a grown man’s palm. It emanated a faint golden sheen.

“It is indeed a piece of Taiyi Metal.”

Lu Xuan nodded.

There were a lot of similar treasures throughout the world that directly connected to the workings of spirit qi. Due to the depletion of such spirit qi for the past several hundred years, such treasures became incredibly rare, and Taiyi Metal, which had been rare to begin, became something capable of fetching astronomical prices.

But then again, there was also no doubt about the potency of Taiyi Metal. Even tiny bits of the metal would have made Lu Xuan’s Bloodthirst even sharper than it already was.

The piece was not as huge as Lu Xuan expected it to be, but it nonetheless proved sufficient for the job.

“Well then, you can consider me a friend of yours now. But if you want to get my hands dirty, you need to bring more to the table,” Lu Xuan added.
