Chapter 283: The Fairy Goddess, Ol’ President Returns

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Meng Lei’s Wealth reached an astonishing 4.5 million Divinity Crystals after he pocketed the Dark Demonic Dragon’s riches.

However, he wasn’t satisfied.

.5 million Divinity Crystals?

Was that bit of riches enough for him to do anything?

Awaken the Primordial Human bloodline further?

No, it wasn’t enough!

Enhance the Gods-Slaying Rat bloodline, the Divine Netherworld Phoenix bloodline, and the Hundred-Armed Giant bloodline?

No, it wasn’t enough!

Raise his metal-origin divine body assimilation rate?

No, it wasn’t enough!

Continue to enhance his divine spirit?

It still wasn’t enough!

The only things he could buy credit for at the moment were his triple-elemental and quadruple-elemental fusion laws of nature assimilation rates, yet those were attributes that he was in no hurry to boost at the moment.

“So, I’m still as poor as ever, I’m still a penniless pauper, and I still have to continue to work hard and strive hard.”

Meng Lei’s gaze landed on the Tempest Colossal Dragon once more. He said, “Tell me, who gave you the Devil contract? I can let you go free if you tell me what I want to know.”

“It’s the Dragon God! The Demon God was the one that gave me the Devil contract with the Dark Demonic Dragon. He’s also the one that forced me to enter into the contract!”

The Tempest Colossal Dragon shouted hoarsely, “He wanted me to kill you through the Dark Demonic Dragon’s power. All of this is his doing and has nothing to do with me!”

“Him? That doesn’t make sense, though.”

Meng Lei narrowed his eyes and asked, “It doesn’t seem to benefit the Dragon God even if you sign the Devil contract, attract the demon army here, and allow Cyrus to occupy Heaven’s Vault Continent.”

“That... I wouldn’t know, but it is indeed the Dragon God that forced me to sign the Devil contract!

“No grudges or enmity exists between us. How would I possibly sell my soul to a demon just to avenge the Dragons? I’m not that selfless!”

The Tempest Colossal Dragon shouted hoarsely, “Lord Meng Lei, you must believe me. I’m innocent!”

“What you say makes sense.”

Meng Lei nodded slightly and said, “In that case, I’ll personally ask the Dragon God about it another time. I believe he’ll be able to give me a satisfactory answer. As for you...”

Meng Lei made a grabbing motion in mid-air and dragged the Tempest Colossal Dragon’s divine spirit out of his sea of consciousness.

Then, he said, “Since I’ve said that I wouldn’t kill you, then I’ll keep my word. You may leave!”

“Leave?”

The Tempest Colossal Dragon, who was currently in his divine spirit form, stared blankly at Meng Lei and then at his body that the Netherworld Divine Fire was burning.

“You... You’re really letting me go?”

To which, Meng Lei replied aloofly, “Do you not want to leave? If so, then you may stay.”

“I’m going! I’m going!”

The Tempest Colossal Dragon hastily shot into the vast sky. Due to its current divine spirit form, it moved even faster than before and vanished into the dark in the blink of an eye.

“Are you letting that guy off so easily, Meng Lei? I don’t mean to nag, but you should eradicate the source of the problem so that they do not resurge.”

Dodola’s voice rang out beside Meng Lei’s ear—it was also watching the ongoings outside.

“Eradicate the source of the problem? Easy-peasy!”

A leisurely smile appeared on Meng Lei’s features, and he snapped his fingers.

“Ahhh!”

A miserable and shrill divine spirit energy fluctuation traveled over from the endless darkness. A bunch of Netherworld Divine Fire flames ignited within the Tempest Colossal Dragon’s divine spirit and burned wantonly.

The Netherworld Divine Fire was capable of setting anything and everything on fire.

“I knew you weren’t that kind!”

Dodola had a contemptuous look on its countenance.

“Hehe!”

Meng Lei chuckled, and then, he turned and flew toward Demonic Dragon Continent. When he was near the dimensional wall, it took the initiative to rip a gate open and allow Meng Lei through.

That was what made an existential plane’s master so powerful. Meng Lei would still be able to return to Heaven’s Vault Continent without being repelled even after 10,000 years from his point of deification.

Meng Lei didn’t linger after stepping into the Demonic Dragon Continent. He returned to Heaven’s Vault Continent, and then, he released and spread his divine cognition into the surroundings to locate the continent’s Heart of The Existential Plane.

He wasn’t determined to take Heaven’s Vault Continent’s Heart of The Existential Plane just for the sake of taking control of the continent. More importantly... He wanted to find someone!

Heaven’s Vault Continent was very big. On top of that, the Heart of The Existential Plane was hidden in a very secluded place. This made searching for it a very difficult task.

Meng Lei was very patient, however. He had gained some insight toward locating an existential plane’s Heart after reading Cyrus’ memories, so he knew that there was no meaning to being impatient about it.

He continuously teleported and searched unceasingly.

As the saying went, “The diligent and faithful are rewarded.”

Three days later, Meng Lei finally found the Heart of The Existential Plane. However, when he reached the area where the Heart was, he saw something that was within his expectations yet also surprised him at the same time—the Heart of The Existential Plane... had already been taken!

Someone had already left their divine spirit mark on the Heart of The Existential Plane ahead of him!

Meng Lei’s brows drew together slightly. By right, it wasn’t that strange that someone had gotten ahead of him and already refined the Heart of The Existential Plane.

After all, Heaven’s Vault Continent had seen the birth of four true gods. Any of them might have already refined the Heart of The Existential Plane. There was nothing to be astonished about.

But what Meng Lei couldn’t understand was that since Heaven’s Vault Continent already had a master, then why didn’t its master obstruct his emergence? Or even erase him?

One must know that he had driven out the four major races, dissolved the four major empires, and unified Heaven’s Vault Continent.

Had the existential plane’s master intended to erase him, it would have been too easy a task for them to accomplish. Yet they hadn’t!

This was incomprehensible!

But...

“So what even if someone has gotten a step ahead of me? I can destroy the divine spirit mark and take back the Heart of The Existential Plane all the same!”

Meng Lei let out an icy snort. Then, his divine cognition took on the shape of a sharp knife and cleaved mercilessly onto the divine spirit mark left on the Heart of The Existential Plane. Once he destroyed the divine spirit mark, the Heart would become his all the same!

Yet, no matter how Meng Lei attacked it, his attacks simply didn’t damage the divine spirit mark in the least.

“What a tough and durable divine spirit mark! Could a higher deity have been the one that had marked it?”

Meng Lei was rather shocked and apprehensive. At this moment, a green hue blossomed from the divine spirit mark and coalesced into a beautiful figure.

She had pointed ears, long blond hair that cascaded like a waterfall, peerless beauty, and a graceful figure. Her eyes were expressive, and she had a holy, pure aura around her.

“That’s...”

Meng Lei’s eyes bore into the newcomer as a guess formed in his mind. Among Heaven’s Vault Continent’s four great true gods, the Dragon God, the Beast God, and the Titan Spiritual God, were all males.

The Fairy Goddess was the only female deity among them!

“Little fellow, I’m very happy to see you.”

Her ruby-red lips parted as she spoke. Her voice was like the murmur of spring water, melodious and pleasant to the ears. She said, “I’m sure you must have guessed my identity by now. I am the Fairy Goddess.”

“Greetings, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei bowed slightly in greeting. The other party was an ancient higher deity, whereas he was just a newly-ascended intermediate deity. Thus, he ought to show the Fairy Goddess due respect.

“I’ve taken notice of you a very long time ago,” the Fairy Goddess said as a smile appeared on her visage. “By achieving intermediate deity status before you’re even 20 years old, you can be said to be the number one person in Heaven’s Vault Continent’s history.”

“You flatter me, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei bowed slightly.

“No, you’re indeed very excellent.”

The Fairy Goddess gave a small emotional sigh and said, “Even in the many high-end existential planes in the vast universe, you’d still be considered a one-in-100,000-years genius.”

“You give me too much credit, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei blushed slightly.

“Little fellow, I’d like to ask you something. I hope you can answer me honestly,” said the Fairy Goddess.

“Feel free to ask away, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei nodded slightly.

“When do you intend to leave Heaven’s Vault Continent?” The Fairy Goddess gazed seriously at Meng Lei. “And which faction do you intend to join?”

“I’ve not thought about that.”

Meng Lei shook his head and said, “As for which faction... I know nothing about the Void, much less where to even start with when it comes to joining factions.”

The Fairy Goddess nodded lightly to indicate that she understood. Then, she said, “With your talent and aptitude, lingering for a long time in a low-end existential plane like Heaven’s Vault Continent is honestly a waste of time. I’d suggest that you leave as soon as possible. High-end existential planes are where you should be shining instead.”

“Perhaps!”

Meng Lei was noncommittal. Before the system had upgraded, staying in Heaven’s Vault Continent was indeed of no help to him. However, now that the system had gained three new functions after its upgrade, everything had become completely different!

He could pick up things from high-end existential planes!

He could plunder the living beings on high-end existential planes!

There really wasn’t much meaning as to whether or not he went to high-end existential planes.

At the sight of Meng Lei’s noncommittal expression, the Fairy Goddess couldn’t help but become somewhat puzzled.

She wasn’t deceiving Meng Lei. To intermediate deities, there really wasn’t much point in lingering in low-end existential planes, so why was Meng Lei thinking otherwise?

Though puzzled, the Fairy Goddess didn’t press the issue. Instead, she said, “Little fellow, if there comes a day where you’d like to leave Heaven’s Vault Continent, you can go to the Fairies to look for me. I can lend you a hand.”

“Thank you for your guidance, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei bowed slightly.

The Fairy Goddess gave him a smile that looked as if a blooming lily. She said, “Work hard, little fellow. I believe you’ll definitely achieve even greater glory in the future!”

Then, the Fairy Goddess’ form gradually dissipated, vanishing together with the divine spirit mark she had left on the Heart of The Existential Plane.

Meng Lei gazed at the Heart of The Existential Plane, and then, he bowed and said, “Thank you for fulfilling my wishes, Your Holiness!”

These words of gratitude came from his heart. Meng Lei knew very well that had the Fairy Goddess been unwilling to give up the Heart of The Existential Plane, there was no way he could have destroyed the divine spirit mark on the Heart with his current abilities.

Yet the Fairy Goddess had dispersed the divine spirit mark on her own accord. This was no different from gifting Meng Lei the Heart of The Existential Plane. How could he not be grateful to her?

Meng Lei refined the Heart of The Existential Plane and took complete control over Heaven’s Vault Continent. Then, he began to search the continent eagerly.

The Dragon God Empire...

The Titan Empire...

The Beast People Empire...

The Far Northern Icelands...

The Fairy Empire...

The Endless Oceans...

The Lost Continent...

Familiar-looking scenery flashed past one by one at high speed in Meng Lei’s mind. Compared to Demonic Dragon Continent, Heaven’s Vault Continent was no different from a tiny little island.

His line of vision left Heaven’s Vault Continent and came to the Endless Oceans. Several islands, big and small, came into view. The large ones were about the same size as the Lost Continent, while the small ones were no bigger than a few square kilometers.

Traces of humans and Beast People could be found on many of the islands. They lived far away from turmoil and disturbances and far away from civilization and made a living by fishing.

“I can’t find him! I still can’t find him!

“Eh? What’s that?”

Suddenly, a huge continent came into Meng Lei’s view. The continent was extremely far away from Heaven’s Vault Continent, easily millions of miles away from it.

It occupied an area above the Endless Oceans and was actually multiple times the size of Heaven’s Vault Continent in surface area. Additionally, it was densely populated and boasted an astonishingly high population that far exceeded that of Heaven’s Vault Continent!

“I knew the Heaven’s Vault Continent existential plane wasn’t that simple! With such a vast ocean on the existential plane, how can Heaven’s Vault Continent be the only continent on it?”

Astounded, Meng Lei swiftly began to check out information about the continent. After a series of checks, Meng Lei discovered to his astonishment that there were actually humans, Fairies, Dragons, Titans, Beast People, and even races such as Dwarves and Demi-Beast People on the continent! Every race that should be there was there!

However, there was something completely out of his expectations—the ones ruling over the continent weren’t Dragons or Titans. Neither was it the Fairies or the Beast People.

Rather, it was the humans!

Humans occupied the vastest and most fertile territories on the continent, whereas the Beast People, Dragons, Fairies, Titans, and other races were scattered in the continent’s peripheral regions.

“The humans on this continent certainly live up to expectations!”

Meng Lei marveled inwardly and continued to scan the continent.

Suddenly, a familiar aura appeared in his line of sight.

“That’s... Ol’ President!!”
