Chapter 2113: Feud

The Dongsang Kingdom’s cavalry ran wild in the Junwu Empire and committed many unspeakable crimes.

The entire empire was dragged into the war and was on the verge of a total collapse. Fortunately, a capable hero led the army and chased the men of the Dongsang Kingdom out of the Junwu Empire.

However, it didn’t change the fact that it was a humiliating past for the empire.

Emperor Wu forbade anyone from recording this part of history, hoping that the people would forget about it.

Naturally, the imperial censor disagreed.

He killed himself in court in order to try and stop the emperor.

But Emperor Wu was stubborn and refused to listen to anyone. He insisted that the war should be omitted from historical records and never mentioned again. Gradually, everyone forgot about it.

Children younger than 13 had never experienced the war and knew little about it.

For instance, Feng Wu only had a rough idea.

She knew that a great master helped the empire end the war.

But no one ever mentioned who the master was.

After performing such a great achievement, the people shouldn’t forget this person.

Feng Wu wanted to ask who the person was, but she was playing Jun Linyuan now.

Of course, Jun Linyuan should know the person’s name, so she had to keep the question to herself until she got back to her room.

However, what Emperor Wu said next answered her question. “Back then, Master Linghu single-handedly killed the enemy leader, and the Dongsang army admitted defeat. After that, they signed a treaty that was to our benefit.”

Feng Wu was surprised.

Master Linghu? Wasn’t he the old monk of Wandering Temple?

Feng Wu was very familiar with that name.

She had to finish the 12 Trials of Love because of that master!

So, it was him…

“That’s why people respect the old monk so much, including Emperor Wu and the empress dowager,” thought Feng Wu. That old man had done so much for the empire.

“But Master Linghu said that he can’t do this forever. He owed my grandfather a favor, and because of that, he killed the enemy leader. Now that we’re even, he won’t do anything if war breaks out again,” said Jun Linyuan casually.

Emperor Wu exploded.

He glared at “Feng Wu” and shouted, “Why do you know that?!”

It was classified information!

No more than ten people knew the secret, and they were all close to Emperor Wu.

If the Dongsang Kingdom knew about this, they would invade the empire again.

“Jun Linyuan, how could you tell her?!” Emperor Wu was furious.

“Are you really going to marry her? Have you forgotten your agreement with Zuo Qingluan?!”

What?

Of all the things Emperor Wu said, Feng Wu only heard the last part.

Jun Linyuan and Zuo Qingluan had an agreement? What was it?

She gave Jun Linyuan a confused look, but Jun Linyuan didn’t seem to want to answer her question.

“Ahem.” He cleared his throat.

Things kept happening after they left the tombs, and he didn’t have time to properly repair Feng Wu’s body. Because of that, he would still cough from time to time.

Luckily, he had repaired 30%, which was enough to keep Feng Wu alive.
