The silver-masked man rubbed his chin and was lost in his thoughts. The black-robed man prompted him. “Tell me. Which door do you choose?”

The silver-haired masked man said, “The Life door is a possibility. What if she’s trying to set us up? What if she went through that door, but she’s leaving a trail behind so that we’ll think that she has taken another route?

“Although this door is marked with the word ‘Danger’, it feels safer than the two doors on either side. Therefore, it’s very likely that she went this way.”

“The Death door looks so creepy that no normal person would go in, but what if the girl thinks that we won’t pick it and chose it on purpose? So, that’s possible too.”

The black-robed man stared at his colleague. ‘Which one should we choose, then?”

The silver-masked man couldn’t make up his mind either, and he was frowning.

The black-robed man asked, “Have you made up your mind?”

The silver-masked man shook his head.

The black-robed man frowned. “I don’t think we should try to set her up. Even a hundred people put together won’t be able to do that, and she’ll lead us astray. So, we should use the dumbest method!”

The silver-masked man asked, “What’s that?”

The black-robed man said, “Let’s leave it to fate, and we’ll choose whichever one it tells us to choose.”

The silver-masked man asked, “What if it’s wrong?”

The black-robed man said, “So be it. We’ll choose another one after you come out!”

The silver-masked man thought about it and agreed.

By “leave it to fate”, the black-robed man was referring to the lucky draw.

One couldn’t tell if he was lucky or not, but he picked out the note that said “Life”.

The silver-masked man said, “If you choose Life, I’ll choose Danger. If we don’t find any trace of that girl, we’ll go into the Death door together.”

The black-robed man nodded. “Let’s do it.”

After that, they stepped into the door they had chosen.

Feng Wu stepped on the black portal as soon as she entered the door. When she realized what had happened, she was in a snowfield.

The wind was chilly.

Feng Wu sneezed right away. It was freezing…

“Where am I?” Feng Wu cringed. The wind was so cold that it felt like blades on her face. The pain was unbearable.

Little Phoenix stuck its head out of Feng Wu’s arms and looked around curiously.

“Wait…” Little Phoenix looked suspicious.

Feng Wu asked, “What? What’s wrong?”

Little Phoenix scratched its head. “This isn’t what I remember. I remember this place used to be like spring all year round. The weather was warm, the birds sang, and the flowers smelled nice. Why is it a snowfield now?

Feng Wu stared at Little Phoenix. “Are you sure you remembered it correctly? Maybe we should take the Danger or Death door instead?”

Little Phoenix hesitated. Could it be…

The look on its face gave Feng Wu the creeps. “Have we chosen the wrong door?”

Little Phoenix put on a long face. “I can’t say… I really don’t remember anything.”

Feng Wu said, “Weren’t you so confident when you told me to go this way just then?”

Little Phoenix felt a pain in its chest. “But, after so many years, I don’t even recognize this place anymore..”
