Chapter 693: The Mysterious Shirt

The next morning, Si Han let Lin Wanwan out.

She rubbed her sore hands and looked at him pitifully.

Si Han pretended not to see her look and drove her back to Yun Mansion.

Lin Wanwan was tired the whole night and was extremely sleepy. She walked in and saw Lu Zhanbei, who was sitting on the sofa drinking coffee. She was about to pounce over and ask him to comfort her when she recalled that they were still arguing.

Lu Zhanbei gave her a side glance. “Where did you go last night? You seem tired.”

“I spent the night writing a reflection piece.”

Lu Zhanbei had a look of puzzlement on his face but didn’t ask further. “Quickly head upstairs to rest.”

“Ok.”

Seeing that he was so considerate and “obedient” to not have followed her yesterday, the anger in Lin Wanwan’s heart dissipated by more than half. It was rare for her to smile and say, “Lu Zhanbei, don’t care about me anymore. Do whatever you have to. Just remember to come back and accompany me for a meal tonight.”

“Ok.”

Lu Zhanbei saw Lin Wanwan heading upstairs and his lips slowly curved into a sly curvature.

Lin Wanwan slept all the way until the evening.

She opened her eyes and saw Lu Zhanbei standing in front of the window curtains looking out. His profile was solemn and quiet.

Hearing movement sounds behind him, he turned around. “Did you sleep well?”

“Yes. I’m just very hungry.”

Lin Wanwan got off the bed, changed her clothes, and prepared to head downstairs for a meal. Then, she suddenly remembered about that shirt.

When Lu Zhanbei wasn’t paying attention, she opened the closet and found that box. There was indeed a white shirt inside. She pretended to be curious and asked, “Why didn’t you hang this shirt in the cloakroom?”

Lu Zhanbei raised his eyebrow. “This is a gift from someone. It’s very precious. I keep it as my collection.”

“A woman?”

“Yes.”

Lin Wanwan wanted to question him but thought that this was too low-class. Who didn’t have a couple of friends from the opposite gender?

“Then wear it for me today.”

“Ok. I’ll take a shower first.”

It was just an ordinary white shirt. Did he have to be so serious?

Lin Wanwan initially wanted to leave a few palm prints on the shirt. However, seeing that Lu Zhanbei treated it as his precious, she lost that thought even though she was not feeling good in her heart.

She sat in front of the dressing table and decided to do a light makeup to cover her dark circles.

She picked up her eyeliner and swiped it twice out of habit.

Clang. She didn’t control her strength well and the ink splashed out. Coincidentally, it landed on the white shirt that was placed on the bed.

Oh no!

What was more coincidental was that Lu Zhanbei walked out from the bathroom then. He saw the ink spots that were splashed over the shirt.

Lin Wanwan saw that his face instantly turned cold. Her heart flinched and she hurriedly apologized, “Sorry, I really didn’t mean to. The eyeliner, I accidentally flung it and…”

Lu Zhanbei picked up the white shirt and walked away without looking at her.

Lin Wanwan, who stood still at the original spot, had tears in her eyes. She muttered, “I really didn’t mean it…”

Even after a long while, Lu Zhanbei didn’t return.

Lin Wanwan sat on the bed, looking depressed.

Which woman had actually given him this gift? He could actually be so angry over it.

Could it be that in his heart, she was not as important as that shirt that that woman gave?

Her mind was still wandering when Lu Zhanbei returned.

Lin Wanwan took a deep breath and squeezed out a smile.

Regardless of what happened, it was her fault.

Without waiting for her to apologize again, Lu Zhanbei suddenly handed over a very big and flat box.

“For you.”

Lin Wanwan received it. He signaled her with his eye and she opened it.

Just one look and she was stunned.
