Chapter 1234: Targeting Her

Lin Wanwan walked toward Fu Wanyi and greeted her sweetly.

Fu Wanyi nodded in acknowledgment.

Lin Wanwan then looked at the arrogant woman who looked similar to Fu Wanyi. “I can see that my mother-in-law doesn’t want to talk to you.”

“Mother-in-law?”

The woman was named Fu Zhaoning, and she was Fu Wanyi’s cousin. Her father worked as a politician in the country.

She had always been jealous of Fu Wanyi, and the possibility of Fu Wanyi becoming the first female president made it worse.

Lin Wanwan’s appearance made her think that she’d found Fu Wanyi’s weak spot.

“Sister, could it be that you are allowing an actress into the Fu family? Our family has centuries worth of tradition, and our uncle is the president. Don’t let a dirty actress ruin our name!”

Fu Wanyi smiled. “Our? Zhaoning, I’m not you. Don’t put words into my mouth.”

Fu Zhaoning’s face went red.

Her family had been trying to befriend Fu Wanyi recently, but the latter didn’t give them any benefit at all.

Lin Wanwan’s eyes sparkled as she glanced at Fu Wanyi.

My mother-in-law is the best!

Her admiring eyes were difficult to ignore. Fu Wanyi found it entertaining, but she didn’t show it. Instead, she glanced at the young woman sitting beside Fu Zhaoning.

“Zhaoning, is this your new daughter-in-law?”

Fu Wanyi didn’t want to make it too tense.

Fu Zhaoning’s eyes softened. “Yes, her name is Xia Qiner. Her father is the minister of education, and her mother is a Chinese calligrapher. Although her background is not great, it’s at least cultivated. Her job is clean, and her personality is gentle as well.”

Lin Wanwan smirked; this woman was targeting her.

Xia Qiner was wearing a white dress, and her hair was waist-length.

“Hi, Madam Fu and Mr. Lu.” She looked like a princess high up in the air.

Fu Wanyi studied her act and glanced at Lin Wanwan. Lin Wanwan’s cute outfit suddenly looked pleasant to the eyes.

Was she wearing white as a guest?

It’s getting easier to be “cultivated.”

Fu Zhaoning tapped Xia Qiner’s hand and beamed. “Qiner, how is your charity organization?”

“It’s doing well.”

“That’s good.”

Fu Zhaoning smiled and continued telling Fu Wanyi, “Sister, my daughter-in-law is pretty hardworking. She created a charity organization to help uneducated children. The girls in our circle call her a living angel, and it’s a great boost of reputation.”

“It’s nothing. I can never compare with Lin Wanwan, who has connections in every part of the world.” Xia Qiner spoke humbly, but her eyes couldn’t hide her arrogance.

She was implying that Lin Wanwan had a messy private life.

Fu Wanyi didn’t say a thing.

Although she hated Fu Zhaoning, she wouldn’t bother helping Lin Wanwan out.

After all, Lin Wanwan would be bullied to death if she couldn’t deal with such simple problems.

Just then, Lu Zhanbei asked in curiosity, “Is your charity organization called The White Angel?”

Xia Qiner’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Lu Zhanbei’s face. “Yes. Has Mr. Lu heard of it as well?”

Lu Zhanbei took a sip of tea and stated in a harmless voice, “I’ve heard of something interesting. A village used the excuse of poverty to receive 20 million yuan from the organization. However, when a reporter checked it out, the village was not just rich but is actually overwhelmingly wealthy.”
