Sun Feiyan had really avoided the bullet on time. This was what Chen Anqi thought as she watched her miss busy herself with the workload she took home with her. Lu Xinyi’s way had really crippled the company for the past few days.

After her forced resignation by Lu Xinyi, Sun Feiyan didn’t waste her time and moved out of the Sun estate, not giving the old man and Sun Mingai a chance to plot against her.

Chen Anqi originally thought that Lu Xinyi didn’t have business acumen and only had cooking in her mind. So when she heard how Lu Xinyi easily ruined her miss’s plans and acquired Flair Apparel from Xia Yuhan, Chen Anqi was shocked down to her core.

It seemed that this Sun heiress knew how to play her card well, pushing Sun Qiyan and Sun Mingai to disadvantage. This problem should be enough to keep Sun Mingai preoccupied for the following months until Lu Xinyi devoured the majority of the shares of the company through Zheng Ning.

“Feiyan, are you sure you aren’t going to pull out your investments? President Shen and Lu Xinyi are slowly acquiring the companies one by one. I’m afraid you’ll face bankruptcy soon if this continues,” she told her worries to her missus.

“You worry too much, Anqi. Don’t you trust me?” the woman in question responded. She wasn’t really expecting that Lu Xinyi would retaliate and ruin her plans, but what was surprising was the little devil let her off that easily.

Sun Feiyan might have stepped down as the officer-in-charge for Sun Corporation, but she would still be held liable for its operations while Sun Mingai would deal with the damages and losses the company suffered.

Chairman Sun didn’t fully trust his own daughter to run the company; thus, Sun Feiyan needed to cooperate with her aunt in every decision Sun Mingai would make for the company.

“But Lu Xinyi…”

“Isn’t our problem at this moment.” Sun Feiyan stopped her assistant, giving her a pointed stare.

For Chen Anqi, her stepping down as the CEO was lucky; but Sun Feiyan had long anticipated that Lu Xinyi would try to strike down Sun Qiyan while trying to get as much as collateral damage by doing it.

Chen Anqi was somewhat confused by her miss’ attitude. She was after all young and hadn’t been subjected to scheming by other people. However, that didn’t mean she hadn’t seen Sun Feiyan suffer under her aunts’ wrath and Chairman Sun’s high demands.

Sun Feiyan quietly looked at her and said, “Anqi, you just have to trust me on this. Lu Xinyi might have realized that I was trying to use her and dirty her own hands to destroy the family. We’ll have to lie low and watch how she’ll deal with our Aunt Mingai next from afar.”

Her eyes flashed with deep hatred when she mentioned Sun Mingai. She assumed that the woman was holding her birth mother, not knowing that Lu Xinyi was already several steps ahead of them and took Sun Feiyan’s mother in her care.

‘Sun Mingai, you better watch your back. If Lu Xinyi couldn’t kill you, I’ll destroy you myself.’

The death of the mother and her daughters filled the news the following days. When Sun Liuxian learned of his daughter’s suicide, Qiyan’s end, and the reason behind Qiushan’s disappearance; his blood pressure had risen and collapsed, sending him immediately to ICU.

The shareholders of the Sun Corporation needed to be pacified and assured for the time being, and that had made the newest CEO and Sun Feiyan busy, disregarding to visit the old man at the hospital.

Because of the recent tragedy that befell on the Sun family, the credibility of Sun Mingai and Sun Feiyan was now being questioned by the shareholders. Now that Lu Xinyi had obtained the shares that once belonged to her mother, the shareholders were anticipating to hear what she’d say over the matter. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

However, in reality, after discovering that it was her—Madam Shen—the person behind Flair Apparel’s success; their impression about her had changed. Now, they wanted to see if Lu Xinyi would be able to pull Starlight from shambles if they gave the authority on her to manage it.

Being Shen Yi’s wife, this also meant that she’d be able to ask for the demon king’s assistance to save Sun Corporation. Too bad they didn’t consider that the man himself wasn’t planning to save the company but to destroy it completely for his wife’s sake.

It was gratifying for her to see the share price continue to plummet down after Sun Ruying and Sun Qiyan’s death. She wondered how long it would take for Sun Mingai to fix the problem she left for them to deal with.

Since the news broke out, Lu Xinyi had chosen to stay within the Imperial Residences, avoiding the media who was still trying to get an interview from her. She was now trying to distance herself from the Sun family and refused the request for her visitation.

Her phone rang for the umpteenth time for the day. Lu Xinyi had initially wanted to ignore it but decided to pick it up at the last minute. She wanted to hear how desperate the old man now that he’d lost another daughter.

“Who’s this?” she asked even though she already knew that it was Chairman Sun’s private secretary.

“Miss Lu, Chairman is requesting your presence? Can you come home to see your grandfather?”

She raised a brow at that. The Sun estate had never become her home.

“What happened?” she asked irritably.

“He’s gravely ill, Miss. He just woke up an hour ago and asked for you to come.” The secretary seemed to be having a hard time to enunciate the purpose of his call.

Lu Xinyi rubbed her forehead. She wasn’t interested in abiding the old man’s request at all. Not after she found out what he did to Tang Lingfei and her mother. Tang Lingfei’s confession had destroyed any feelings or sympathy she had left for him.

As if the private secretary expected her to decline, she tried to coax her in another way.

“Miss Xinyi, whatever he did in the past, he’s still your grandfather…”

Wrong words. Lu Xinyi thought.

Sun Liuxian never became her grandfather. Neither did he prove himself that he was a worthy one.

Irritated for being taken as a fool, she sneered at the man on the other line.

“Grandfather? Why don’t you call Sun Feiyan? Isn’t she his favorite granddaughter?”

As she said this, her eyes slightly widened when she saw Shen Yi leaning against the door of his study. He uncrossed his arms on his chest and waved a hand at her.
