‘Nothing fits!’

Lu Xinyi wanted to scream in frustration as she pulled a pair of sweatpants from her wardrobe and grabbed one of Shen Yi’s barely used shirts to wear. He wouldn’t mind seeing her wearing his clothes anyway. A sick part of him reveled that she was his whenever he saw her in his clothes.

All of these troubles were because she was visiting her Grandmother Tang with the twins. Shen Yi was off to work, and she didn’t like to stay at home, waiting for him without doing anything so she decided to give Tang Lilou a call to inform them of their arrival at the Tang Mansion.

Grumbling to herself, Lu Xinyi dragged her hair and tied it on a messy bun. She didn’t care if she looked like she’d just gotten out of bed. Being comfortable was what mattered to her anyway.

However, being comfortable wasn’t something she could enjoy as her pregnancy progressed. Aside from not being able to eat the foods and dishes she used to like, she couldn’t sleep comfortably anymore with her growing bump.

While it was satisfying and fascinating to know that her baby was growing well within her, she needed her damn sleep that eluded her these days.

“Alright. Mommy is finally ready. Let’s go,” Lu Xinyi said as she came down the stairs and found the twins playing with their two Akita dogs while Xiao Bai slept on one side of the living area.

Little Yuyan grinned in delight. Going to the Tang Estate only meant more playmates and food for them anyway. She dragged her twin brother outside where Lu Xinyi’s bodyguards were waiting.

These past months were strangely peaceful, but none of them dared to bring their guards down as Feng Zexian and Sun Mingai might do something to spite Lu Xinyi and Shen Yi again.

The three went inside the car and drove towards the Tang Estate. Lu Xinyi was buckled safely on her seat as Fu Shuren drove the car slowly. Shen Yi had once insisted on being more careful on the road, especially now that Lu Xinyi was pregnant.

“Mommy, I’m excited to meet my sister soon,” Little Yuyan said as she clung to her mother’s hand.

“When’s the baby arriving?” Shen Zichen asked.

“Soon, darling. Baby needs more time in Mommy’s tummy.” Lu Xinyi ran a hand on his thick mane.

The rest of the day was spent with the Tangs, but they did come home before Shen Yi arrived from work. Once the twins ran back to their bedrooms to enjoy the newest toys and dolls they received from the Tang family, Lu Xinyi made her way to the kitchen and opened the fridge.

There, lay inside her favorite cheesecake that she hadn’t tasted for months. Lu Xinyi patted her swollen belly and whispered to her baby, hoping it would cooperate with her this time.

“Baby, can you allow Mommy to eat cheesecake for once?” she whispered. “Let Mommy eat a slice, okay?”

When she felt a slight movement from her stomach, she evilly grinned and took out the cheesecake from the fridge. She took a small slice to test to make sure it wouldn’t go to waste just in case her stomach revolted again.

Shen Yi suddenly appeared behind her, his arms encircling her waist with both hands rested on her bump.

“Eating again?”

“Come between me and my cheesecake for the second time, CEO Shen. I assure you, there would be a bloody murder tonight.” Lu Xinyi shot him a glare over her shoulder.

“Can’t you eat something healthier than this?”

“Shen Yi, you cannot dissuade me to abandon my cheesecake. Never again!” Lu Xinyi said as she dug on her cheesecake. The sweetness of it hit her tongue, and she was instantly sent to nirvana. Finally, after weeks of struggling, her baby allowed her to eat her cheesecake. This was way better than the ‘healthier snack’ Shen Yi wanted her to eat. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

Shen Yi let out a low laugh and released her. He knew she wasn’t joking. It was a silent rule on their relationship anyway, and Shen Yi wasn’t planning to die a slow, painful death just because of a cheesecake.

He wondered if she noticed she was almost always eating recently. Probably not.

Lu Xinyi peeked over the back of the couch, at her husband who was busy working on his laptop again. It was already late at night, and she already tucked the twins on their beds. The twins were dead tired from all the activities they’d done earlier. The moment their heads hit their pillows, they were out.

Grinning to herself, she bit her lower lip and sneaked up on her oblivious husband. She tiptoed behind him and launched herself at his back, her arms reaching out to wrap around him.

“Hi, hubby. Still working?”

“Xinxin, a pregnant woman like you shouldn’t be jumping on her husband like this,” Shen Yi chastised her but grabbed her arm, leaving his laptop on the coffee table and making sure to save his work in order to hold her. He glanced at the clock and then looked at her.

“Shouldn’t you be sleeping by now?” He pointed out.

“But I couldn’t sleep. I feel like on steroids right now; my body refuses to let me sleep. Should I go for a run?” she asked him as he sat her in his lap.

“That’s probably because of the sugar rush you’ve got from your cheesecake. You want to go for a run? But that’s dangerous?” he asked her skeptically. A pregnant woman like her was prone to injuries. Was she planning to give him a heart attack by injuring herself?

“Alright, not going to run.” Lu Xinyi easily backed out, seeing his fierce glare. Aiya, it’s no fun teasing him like this. “However, you cannot ignore that both of us gained weight.” She pointed out.

“I have not gained too much weight…” Shen Yi sounded like he wasn’t sure himself. “Would it bother you if I gained weight?”

Lu Xinyi laughed and gave him a shrug. Oh, so the Great Shen Yi also feared getting fat? Then, why did he also eat everything she snacked on?

“Admit it, Shen Yi. You’re also eating with me every time I want a snack. We need to burn those extra calories.”

Shen Yi looked down and checked his stomach. It’s still flat, but there was a hint of muffin top threatening to emerge. The last couple of weeks had been spent with meetings, working at home, and more work as he looked after his wife.

She had a point, but there was no way in hell he’ll allow her to run to spend all those energies.

“But wife, there are other activities we can do better together,” he reminded her.

Lu Xinyi squealed when he scooped her up and brought her to their bedroom. She laughed when her back hit the mattress, and her smile turned into a devilish grin as he pushed him at his back and straddled his hips.

“Darling, tonight, wifey wants to be in charge.” She whispered seductively on his ear as her hands were busy tugging his belt.

A few hours later, her excessive energy was spent and curled sleepily next to her husband.
