Chapter 278: Pellet Path Heritage Site

“An inferior grade flying sword…it meets the tier requirement, though there’s no telling how powerful it is…”

Jiang He stretched out his hand, rolled out his sleeve, and slashed the black sword heavily upon his own wrist.

Clang!

Sparks shot out everywhere on the tip of the sword as if metals collided, whereas only a single white mark was left on Jiang He’s wrist.

“Sigh…”

“Inferior grade soul weapons are still a little weak. I used forty percent of my strength, and I have a hunch that the sword would snap if I were to put in more strength!”

After a soft sigh, Jiang He put away the black sword and took out the other flying sword.

It was mediocre-grade and fully golden.

Jiang He tested its strength as well.

The golden sword was much sharper compared to the inferior-grade flying sword. Coupled with the fact that it was a heptaurum sword, it was slightly sharper than weapons of the same grade…which was why it scratched through Jiang He’s skin.

“Not bad, not bad.”

Jiang He praised and smiled. “This mediocre-grade flying sword has actually scratched me a little even though my physical defense is equal in power to premium-grade soul weapons…which would actually maim me.”

Beside him, Wang Hou appeared weirded out.

What the hell!

You call a slit artery a scratch?

Glancing at Wang Hou then, Jiang He could not help asking, “What’s wrong, Minister Wang? Why do you look pale all of a sudden?”

“By the way…”

“Why don’t you learn a physique refinement technique on the side?”

“If you are half as tough as I am, you wouldn’t be maimed when the Sky Demon Cult’s Saint ambushed you with that inferior-grade soul weapon. In fact, she would have a hard time piercing your defenses instead.”

Jiang He remembered the Saint’s moon blade then.

It must have been her preferred mystic treasure, and she clearly was holding back when she blindsided Wang Hou—he would be dead with a single strike if she had used that moon blade instead.

“Jiang He, about the treasure vault…”

Wang Hou asked then, switching subjects since he was reluctant to continue on that topic.

“I have no use for the stuff inside the vault, use them as you see fit,” Jiang He simply replied.

“Many thanks.”

Wang Hou smiled. “The Martial Arts Department (MAD) lacks martial art resources the most at the moment, so I’ll accept the vault.”

Most items in the treasure vault were actually quite common, which was fine for the average martial artist, but not at all useful for rank-nine or divine-tier individuals. Either way, Jiang He would no lack those cultivation items, and he could buy a favor from Wang Hou by selling it to him.

Once they left the temple, Wang Hou swiftly arranged for helpers to move out the items in the treasure vault.

Then, he turned towards Pei Donglai and smiled. “General Pei, please contact Chief Commander Li and request him to send in some troops for guarding this troops. Of course, it would be best if the military builds a base here.”

“About that…”

Pei Donglai appeared puzzled and asked, “You’ve already arranged for people to move the items here, Minister Wang. Is there a need to place a garrision here?”

“Moreover, there would be radiation left from the hydrogen bomb blast, and this is not a very suitable place to build a base… eh?”

Even before Pei Donglai finished, his eyes abruptly widened as he glanced at the direction where there was a huge explosion last night.

Radiation?

There was none at all!

Wang Hou realized that too and did a double take before turning to Jiang He, who laughed out loud. “I used my own homecooked bombs to blow up the mountain guarding array of the Sky Demon Cult. It’s non-nuclear, so why would there be radiation?”

Suddenly, there was silence.

After just a dozen seconds, Wang Hou’s mouth twitched as he forced a smile.

Homecooked bomb?

How the heck was that a homecooked bomb?

Mount Thunder was gone and every boulder upon it had melted into liquid crystals. Why bother with nuclear bombs or hydrogen bombs if a homecooked bomb could do that?

Still, Wang Hou and the others would not ask if Jiang He was unwilling to say anything.

Right now, Jiang He was head and shoulders above them in ability. It was no exaggeration to say that he could match a nation alone, or perhaps more…

As such, they had to guess for themselves where he had actually obtained those bombs from.

A heritage site?

There were some heritage sites left from the Old Martial Era or by immortals. Could there be bombs left behind from those places?

Perhaps…what Jiang He had obtained was no bomb at all, but something like a divine seal instead?

Nonetheless, Jiang He himself did not bother to explain.

Would you have believed me if I told you I throw mushrooms, not bombs?

Either way, I would say it is a homecooked bomb no matter who asked…as for the power, can’t the bombs cooked from my family recipe be a little powerful?

Back to the matter of whether they should station a garrison and build a military base here…

Wang Hou did not hold anything back and directly revealed that Jiang He was willing to sell the Secret Realm, leaving Pei Donglai and the others greatly astonished. All of them promptly bowed and offered him fist-palm salutes, conveying their solemn respect.

That left Jiang He a little embarrassed.

Could these people be assuming that he was selling the Secret Realm to contribute to the country?

Would any of them understand Jiang He’s predicament?

Heritage Sites were completely useless to Jiang He and it is very troublesome to unlock them on every other turn. His initial plan was to extract the celestial bodies of the Secret Realm and hang it in his own farm, but the sun here was gray and did not fit Jiang He’s aesthetical values, which was why he would not bother.

As for the concentrated Yuan Qi in Secret Realms… the Yuan Qi in his own farm would not lose out to that of Secret Realms.

Meanwhile, after Pei Donglai had informed the military hierarchy about the entire matter, he asked, “Chief Commander Li would arrive in an hour, Mister Jiang. Should we head to the nearest city base of Xiangxi for further discussions?”

“There’s no need.”

Jiang He waved him off saying, “It’s just a Secret Realm and not a big deal. I have no conditions in mind either, although I have certain stuff which I’m hoping that the MAD and the military could help me find.”

“Just shoot, Mister Jiang. The military would try to meet your conditions as best as we can, if it is within our ability.”

Wang Hou had made his stance as well, indicating that as long as Jiang He stated his requests, he would search, gather, and steal for Jiang He right then even if the MAD did not have it.

“Well then, I won’t hold back.”

Jiang He thought about it and said, I need mystic reassures and soul weapons, and it would be best if it were flying swords, and fragments work too…some of the martial clans and martial schools might have those, and others might have unearthed them from heritage sites. With your wide networks at the military and the MAD, you could help me ask around.”

“Also, medicinal pellets.”

Jiang He then said. “There had been quite a number of heritage sites discovered in the nation, but I wonder if there are medicinal pellets effective even for divine-tier individuals. I’d purchase them in bulk, as much as I can get, if they are available.”

“Those medicinal pellets definitely exist—I myself had a few.”

Wang Hou said rather feebly, “Even so, anyone who finds medicinal pellets of such grade would definitely consume it once they find it to improve their strength. No one would bother keeping it.”

“That said, the military did discover a heritage site with substantial medicinal pellets, which must have been left by an ancient sect that brewed pellets.”

Pei Donglai added then, “I actually benefited from that heritage site and reached divine-tier thanks to it. Nonetheless, we determined that the heritage site date back 1,400 years ago and the medicinal value of the pellets had waned considerably, and almost 90% were useless.

Jiang He’s eyes lit up and said, “Useless works too. Where are the pellets now?”

“The Superpower Research Department.”

Pei Donglai answered honestly, “They have taken away all the medicinal pellets and recipes. In fact, the qi pellets and blended qi pellets available on the market right now were developed by the Superpower Research Department based on those recipes.”

The Superpower Research Department?

Jiang He appeared thoughtful then…

Since he could plant even the broken fragments of mystic items at his farm, planting scrap pallets should not be a problem.

He just might be able to earn a big load of Farm Points if he had substantial high-grade medicinal pellets.
