Chapter 503: Refining Body Honing Pellets

“Jiang He, you are too much!”

A Chan Sect immortal bellowed in rage. “The Body Honing Pellet is the blood, sweat, and tears of each and every one of our sect’s master pellet refinists. How dare a runt like you belittle the Body Honing Pellet?

“And word has it that you are less than thirty… do you even know how to refine pellets?”

“Martial Uncle Taiyi, Martial Uncle Yu Ding, why treat this clown with respect? From where I’m standing, we should chase him out of the Hollow Jade Temple right now!”

“Put down his pets right now! What even are those things supposed to be!”

“Well, the spicy potato strips do carry a bang…” A fairy maiden whispered quietly then, having finished her bag of snacks but forgot to wipe her mouth.

Meanwhile, Jiang He was smiling despite his exasperation.

Snorting coldly, he said icily, “Bunch of fools!”

“What?”

“Insolent wretch! How dare you speak out of turn!”

“&**%… %%¥…&¥%”

The Chan Sect immortals were even more furious at that.

Jiang He sneered and ignored the angry mob, since he could not outnumber them… or was he supposed to argue thousands of Chan Sect immortals until the end?

A small pot appeared in his grasp then.

The pot appeared very normal and no different from the usual cooking pots at farmhouses, though the only difference was that this one had a faint glimmer of immortal radiance as it was a superior-grade immortal pot.

Ooom!

Thrown into the air, the pot expanded with the wind and became a thousand feet wide when it landed.

The many Chan Sect immortals across the square on the peak were abruptly silent as the atmosphere turned very weird.

After three seconds of quietness, all of them burst into a tirade of discussion.

“A pot?”

“An immortal pot?”

“What is Jiang He doing? Didn’t he say he would be refining Body Honing Pellets? Could he be giving up because he know he would fail?”

“How on… could he be…”

Some immortals exclaimed in surprise as if having a hunch.

Beside Wang Hou, the True Habitant of Tai Yi, the True Habitant of Yu Ding, and the True Habitant of Yellow Dragon all appeared puzzled, while Wang Hou himself explained with a smile, “You may not know this, brothers, but Jiang He started cultivation without any cultivation. Every cultivation method, array, item refinement technique, pellet refinement technique—he came up with everything by himself, which is why the methods with which he refines items or pellets are different.”

“What?”

The Chan Sect immortals were shocked despite having lived over eternity, with the True Habitant of Yaiyi unable to help exclaiming, “Nobody taught him after he cultivated for so long?”

Wang Hou nodded.

He created his own cultivation methods?

Wang Hou nodded again.

“Impossible!”

It was not merely the True Habitant of Tai Yi—every other Chan Sect immortal were in disbelief, with Ju Liu Sun himself frowning as he spoke, “My disciple had spoken about Jiang He after he returned from the homeworld, claiming that he had reached his current level after cultivating for just over a year… how could this be?”

“Cultivating to Grand Luo in little more than a year is already unthinkable, and yet Jiang He was also uninstructed by any mentor…”

Tu Xing Sun had actually provided detailed information about Jiang He after returning.

However, most Chan Sect immortals doubted it.

In fact, Ju Liu Sun, the True Habitant of Tai Yi, and the other elites still found it hard to believe even though Wang Hou was telling them personally.

Even Wang Hou himself was doubtful of Jiang He’s rise even after personally witnessing it, let alone the others.

Meanwhile, Jiang He was setting up his pot while commenting, “This pot is something I made on a whim… I mean, specially so that I could refine pellets quicker.”

“First, we would have to hold the pot steady… here, it must be mentioned that this pot is a superior-grade immortal item, which is why it is hard to heat it with normal fires. It requires the True Samadhi Flames or spirit fires, which is why the materials for the stove holding up the pot must be strong and heatproof.”

Taking out a Spatial Ring, he then emptied it on the floor on a whim—

Clang.

A large pile of immortal items dropped out.

They came in different shapes and sizes, too: flying swords, blades, axes, jade towers, cauldrons, towers, ships, and the like, and there were over three hundred of them.

Nonetheless, they shared a single trait—all of them were premium-grade immortal items.

As if picking out trinkets from trash heap, Jiang He picked a few dozen items, adjusted their sizes, and put them beneath the pot.

The pot had to be kept steady with a hollow center beneath, though Jiang He was really adept at that. With those few dozens items, Jiang He managed to build a simple stove.

Directing his immortal Yuan Strength to ignite the immortal crystals, they started burning with a rushing sound.

Pure Immortal Qi was contained within immortal crystals, which Jiang He was using as fuel to heat the immortal pot, which began to scorch in three minutes. The Chan Sect immortals all had their eyes bulging then, clearly stunned by Jiang He’s feats.

However, that was when Jiang He remembered…

He had only asked for the recipes of the Body Honing Pellets and he did not have the materials cook it.

Blushing, he turned toward the True Habitant of Tai Yi and the other leaders of the Chan Sect and mumbled, “Excuse me… brothers, could I buy some materials for the Body Honing Pellets?”

“No problem. How many portions do you need?” the True Habitant of Yu Ding asked with a smile.

Jiang He did a rough count.

His immortal pot could change its size at a thought—even to planet-sized if needed. As such, a large pot could make over billions of Body Honing Pellets, but considering the high grade of rank-seven immortal pellets, that this was the first time he cooked Body Honing Pellets and many Chan Sect immortals were watching nearby, he could embarrass himself if the pot became too large and his performance was thereby affected.

Playing it safe, Jiang He asked, “Give me a thousand portions for now. And do you have clean mountain spring water?”

The True Habitant of Yu Ding called a disciple to him and instructing him to prepare the materials.

The disciple left in a flash, and returned in just around five minutes.

He brought a Spatial Ring and a bottle gourd—the former contained the one thousand portions of materials for Body Honing Pellets, while the latter was an inferior-grade immortal item containing a separate space filled with mountain spring water.

Jiang He had a sip. It was fresh and sweet, and since the entire bottle gourd still contained more, it would not be finished anytime soon.

“I’ll be keeping this bottle gourd, then.”

The Chan Sect disciple, a mere True Immortal, felt pained at that, since an inferior-grade immortal item was a small fortune to him. Still, he erupted in delight in the next instant, as Jiang Hw added, “That said, I shouldn’t take your bottle gourd for nothing, so pick one item from that pile of trash in exchange.

‘That pile of trash’ referred to the immortal items he had thrown on the floor without a care, each a premium-grade immortal item.

The disciple promptly thanks Jiang He, and eventually picked a premium-grade immortal spear before leaving in excitement.

At the same time, Jiang He poured the mountain spring water into the pot, commenting on what he was doing as he did so, “When I refined pellets back on Earth, I would either use mineral water or fresh water. However, this mountain spring water is so incredible in quality that it is far better than the other two, so the texture of the Body Honing Pellets cooked would probably be better in texture.”

“What?!”

“Are you really using that pot to refine pellets?”

A white-haired old man exclaimed in surprise from among the crowd.

Staring at Jiang He’s giant pot for seconds, he murmured in disappointment, “Outrageous! How outrageous!”

As he spoke, he turned to look at the elites such as the True Habitant of Tai Yi and the True Habitant of Yu Ding before storming off.

Jiang He was a guest so he must not speak impolitely, but that old man could not bear to watch such trampling over the discipline of pellet refinement.

“Master Potion Dust!”

One of the Chan Sect immortals cried and ran to him, but the old man hurled his sleeve and barked, “Pellet refinement is a profound knowledge and the crystallization of the hard work of countless seniors, but that kid is making a joke out of it! I wouldn’t be able to hold back from cutting him down if I keep watching!”

“That’s right! The discipline of pellet refinement is as sacred as it is solemn. How dare he defile it?”

“Cooking pellets with a pot? Laughable!”

“Over the last few hundred thousand years, I myself have refined no fewer than eight thousand Body Honing Pellets! But I never knew that you have to add mountain spring water before cooking it!”

“Hah! I thought I could learn something by coming to watch, but it only turned out to be a clown show!”

Dozens more pellet refinists followed Potion Dust out of the crowd.

The scene broke into pandemonium all at once, with even elites such as the True Habitant of Yu Ding caught off guard… those pellet refinists were not average disciples since they had considerable status in the Chan Sect, not to mention that they had a weird temper since most of them were obsessed with pellet refinement.

And since they were not being quiet, Jiang He naturally could hear them.

He was not furious, but he did not explain anything either, merely calmly saying, “And now, we will finally be refining the pellet!”

He was not speaking loudly, but his voice reached the ears of everyone present, including the Chan Sect pellet refinists. While they did not stop, they slowed down considerably while subtly extending their immortal will.

As for Jiang He…

Splash!

He dumped the materials to refine 1,000 Body Honing Pellets into the immortal pot!
