Chapter 657 - Chinatown is a society

After Asaka Ochi sent Su Tao to the hotel, Su Tao smiled. “You want to come up and have a seat?”

“It’s fine; I have to return and to see Kohei.” Asaka Ochi blushed.

“Yeah, absence makes the heart grow fonder. It has been a long time since the two of you met, so the two of you must have things to talk about.” Su Tao smiled.

As Asaka Ochi lightly knitted her brows, she sighed, “How do you think it should be done?”

Su Tao briefly froze by her question before he shook his head. “I’m not in a position to meddle since it’s your family affair.”

“I would like to hear your opinion!” Asaka Ochi spoke with an earnest expression.

Looking at Asaka Ochi, Su Tao replied, “Blood bond cannot be denied. Even if Kohei Koizumi has cut off his relationship with his children, Uto Koizumi would continue to harass you with his personality. After all, he has the excuse that you’ve taken the inheritance that should belong to him.”

“I can give up all the money! I don’t care about money!” Asaka Ochi gritted her teeth.

“This is just your one-sided feelings. Based on my analysis, your husband has decided to leave his assets to you, but this isn’t exactly good since Uto Koizumi will definitely not let you off. Let me give you a suggestion. Perhaps you can leave this place and go overseas to start a new life.” Su Tao sighed.

Su Tao tactfully explained since the men that Uto Koizumi called over today showed that he had some power. They might not be his opponent, but that didn’t mean the same for Asaka Ochi. Without someone to protect her, wouldn’t she be bullied by Uto Koizumi?

Japan was the only country in the world where the government legally recognised their underground society. Hence, it would be troublesome to provoke Yakuza here.

“Start a new life?” Asaka Ochi’s pupils spun around while seeming to be considering Su Tao’s suggestion.

“That’s right. From a physician’s point-of-view, this might be beneficial to you. Your feelings for Kohei Koizumi are too deep, and perhaps you might be able to pick yourself up with a change of environment.” Su Tao explained.

“I will consider your suggestion seriously!” Asaka Ochi lightly nodded her head. She had to admit that Su Tao was a persuasive person, and even her calm heart had started to waver.

Although Su Tao did not point out the country, he knew that China would be her first consideration. After all, she’s proficient in Mandarin, and there weren’t any obstacles living there.

Su Tao had also read her heart. Eiko Fujino’s betrayal was hard to accept for Asaka Ochi, and she never expected that her cousin, whom she had grown up with, would hate her.

She had previously thought of finding a temple to be a nun when Kohei Koizumi passed away, but under Su Tao’s influence, her thoughts started to waver. Perhaps finding a new society to start her life anew might be a good choice.

When Su Tao returned to the hotel, his room had already recovered to its initial appearance since the Azure Wolf Group was pretty tactful to execute his instructions.

A brief moment later, his doorbell rang. When he opened the door, he saw Ni Jingqiu holding onto a bottle of red wine along with two glasses and smiled. “I heard that something happened in the afternoon?”

“Yeah, I never expected that the Azure Wolf Group from the underground pub would come knocking on the door.” Su Tao bitterly smiled.

“Don’t worry about it. The Azure Wolf Group won’t come anymore.” Ni Jingqiu pursed her lips.

Su Tao was briefly stunned before he instantly figured it out. Ni Jingqiu must have used her resources. So it turned out that the Azure Wolf Group didn’t clean this room. When Ni Jingqiu found out everything, not only did she get someone to deal with the Azure Wolf Group, but she got his room cleaned.

“I never expected that Japan would be so chaotic.” Su Tao sighed.

“It’s mainly because we’ve come in contact with the dark side of this country. In reality, every place has a dark side, it’s just that the public doesn’t know it.” Ni Jingqiu smiled.

As Ni Jingqiu spoke, she poured a glass of red wine and handed it to Su Tao.

“How did the talk go?” Su Tao asked after taking a sip.

“I met a bunch of cunning old fogeys, and it will take some time to deal with them.” Ni Jingqiu sighed.

“If you need my help, just tell me about it.” Su Tao smiled, “After all, we’re partners!”

Ni Jingqiu smiled. “Well, I really do have something to trouble you with. I need you to come with me to a meal tomorrow.”

“What’s the deal?” Su Tao smiled as he continued, “You wouldn’t be bringing me over just to eat, right?”

Ni Jingqiu purposely kept him in suspense and smiled. “You’ll know tomorrow!”

Su Tao sighed. Being kept in the dark did not feel great, but he knew that if he pursued her about it, he would fall for her trap. Hence, he restrained his curiosity and looked at her prideful peaks while sipping the red wine.

When Asaka Ochi returned home, Kohei Koizumi was reading today’s newspaper. The news that he was reading for the past month was delayed, and it didn’t feel great living in the past.

After Asaka Ochi changed her clothes, she entered the room and started massaging Kohei Koizumi’s shoulders, to which Kohei Koizumi gently patted her hand. “It’s fine. Let's talk.”

Due to his disease, Kohei Koizumi was already numb from the pain, so he couldn’t enjoy the massage.

Sitting before Kohei Koizumi, Asaka Ochi proficiently started to brew tea. A few minutes later, a cup of tea was placed before the former.

“Please forgive Uto. He’s your son, after all.” Asaka Ochi said.

Wearing a bitter smile, Kohei Koizumi responded, “I have already given him plenty of chances, but he has disappointed me. Even if he did not have my inheritance after my death, he would still live a good life. On the contrary, you’re the one that I’m worried about. He will definitely try to deal with you, and I’m guilty that I've caused so much harm to you because of me.”

The brim of Asaka Ochi’s eyes turned red as she emotionally said, “We’re husband and wife, and sharing bitterness is what we should do.”

Shaking his head, Kohei Koizumi blamed himself, “I was too emotional back then. I shouldn’t have married you and wasted your youth. I owe you too much, and I will never be able to repay it in this lifetime, it’s so much so that I don’t even have the face to see you in my next lifetime. If I die, promise me that you will find your own happiness. That Lin Kun has been faithful to you. He might be a little cowardly, but you can still consider him.”

Asaka Ochi widened her eyes since she never expected that Kohei Koizumi would speak such words. So it turned out that her husband knew that Lin Kun had been courting her.

Shaking her head, she sobbed, “You’re the most outstanding man that I’ve met. Since I’ve married you, I won’t accept anyone else in my heart.”

Letting out a sigh, Kohei Koizumi’s expression turned grave. “You’re just lying to yourself. How am I considered an outstanding man? The basic standard of an outstanding man is to be in good health and make you feel secure to spend the rest of my life with you. But you’ve always been the one that has been taking care of me.”

“Kohei, you shouldn’t say that. Knowing you was the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I’m satisfied to spend my days with you.” Asaka Ochi replied in a soft tone.

Kohei Koizumi had no idea how to persuade his wife. He was well-aware of Asaka Ochi’s loyalty to him, but it’s a pity that he’s destined to let her down.

Hence, before his death, his last task as her husband was to find happiness for her, and Lin Kun could be a decent choice. He might not be successful, not to mention that he had flaws, but Kohei Koizumi felt that finding someone to love Asaka Ochi more for her next marriage was suitable.

“Oh, right. What did Physician Su say about my previous thoughts?” Kohei Koizumi had been yearning for a child. If he could leave a child with Asaka Ochi before his death, it would make the inheritance of his wealth more reasonable.

“He said that you still have to nurture your health!” Asaka Ochi did not want to strike a blow at her husband and told a white lie.

“You have to rest your body well and see if there’s a chance!”

If her husband learned that he had lost his ability as a man, it would undoubtedly be a significant blow to him.

Letting out a sigh, Kohei Koizumi replied, “Physician Su’s medical skills are superb, and he's chivalrous. If we can have a child, we must thank him greatly.”

“Yeah, we have to thank him!” Asaka Ochi smiled with her heart feeling guilty.

When Kohei Koizumi’s gaze fell on the cup of tea, he did not show any expression on his face while being silent. Even Asaka Ochi had no idea what’s going through his mind.

They might be in a foreign country, but Su Tao did not change his habit of exercising in the morning. When he woke up in the morning, he ran around the hotel before he returned to take a hot shower. Ni Jingqiu knocked on his door at about 8 a.m., then the two of them ate buffet in the hotel’s restaurant. Japan’s breakfast was more exquisite with rice, miso soup, baked fish, seaweed, and natto. They did not come in big portions, but it’s still pretty fulfilling.

After their breakfast, they came out with a Toyota vehicle waiting for them. Ni Jingqiu first entered the backseat before Su Tao followed. The chauffeur was a Chinese, to which Su Tao analysed that they must be on their way to meet a Chinese businessman.

Just as he had expected, they arrived at a street filled with Chinese culture roughly half an hour later. This was the Yokohama Chinatown, thirty kilometers away from Kyoto. Street food filled the streets and he could see exquisite doors with restaurants and snacks.

Simply putting it, Chinatown was a society, and Chinese who came from China gathered here to help each other integrate into society.

While following Ni Jingqiu to an ancient building, a man came out to receive them, to which Su Tao frowned. What a coincidence? It was actually someone he met a few days ago after touring the medicine research facility, Gu Yin.

Gu Yin was a successful businessman who had operated Chinese-styled restaurants in China for years, and this was one of his other restaurants.

Gu Yin also froze when he saw Su Tao since he never expected that the latter would be coming together with the princess of the Ni Family, Ni Jingqiu. But a brief moment later, he rejoiced since Mu Jingchen would also be joining the meal, so he could take this opportunity to introduce them together. Who knows, Su Tao might even be able to resolve Mu Jingchen’s trouble.
