Chapter 690 - The Gap in Scope

“Then I’ll have to trouble you for that. If you win, I will transfer another USD$1,000,000 to your account as a congratulatory gift.” Wang Guofeng had some confidence in Amaki Hamasaki’s medical skills. The root of his medical skill might be TCM, but his techniques were bizarre. Back then, he had lost because he was caught by surprise.

Furthermore, Amaki Hamasaki had the advantage of the host this time, so there’s hope for him to defeat Su Tao.

In his life, Wang Guofeng had only lost to three people, Kim Jung-ho, Amaki Hamasaki, and Su Tao. With Kim Jung-ho losing to Su Tao, only Amaki Hamasaki has the hope of defeating him.

If Su Tao loses to Amaki Hamasaki in his trip to Japan, his legend as a talented physician will be destroyed.

The reason why Amaki Hamasaki would have a competition with Su Tao was all due to Wang Guofeng’s arrangement. He created an opportunity for Amaki Hamasaki to meet Su Tao before causing a conflict between them.

And since Amaki Hamasaki wanted to consolidate his reputation, he agreed to it straightforwardly.

“Money isn’t important!” Amaki Hamasaki waved his hand in annoyance and continued, “But you have to fulfil your promise. If I defeated Su Tao, please tell me the cultivation technique of the Rising Dawn Qi of your Medical Dao Sect. My master, Mamoru Onizuka, has a great interest in it. Back then, when he witnessed the Medical Dao Sect’s Sect Master performing it, he has wanted to research it.”

Amaki Hamasaki had asked the chant for the Rising Dawn Qi from him numerous times, but it was tactfully avoided by him every time. However, Wang Guofeng never expected that Amaki Hamasaki would mention it again as he brushed it off, “I’ll give it to you as long as you can defeat Su Tao.”

Although Amaki Hamasaki knew that Wang Guofeng’s words couldn’t be trusted, he still smiled, “That’s a promise!”

After ending the call with Amaki Hamasaki, Wang Guofeng reported to Rangure, who was having coffee on the couch, “I have already told Amaki Hamasaki about it. Although he was still somewhat unwilling from his tone, he will definitely do as we intended in reducing the costs of Chinese medicine to increase our profits.”

The forces under Rangure’s control include the Cambell Pharmaceutical Company, which Hans was previously managed by Hans. It was backed by one of the four sovereigns in the medicine industry, the Neuer Conglomerate.

The Neuer Conglomerate controlled several core technologies that are often used in medicine, so they have business relations with the hospitals.

Wang Guofeng used his connection with Amaki Hamasaki to obtain the Iwata Chinese Medicine Research Facility’s sales rights before using the Neuer Conglomerate’s resources to earn a huge sum of money. He had tasted the sweetness that brought a generous profit to the Medicine Deity Corporation. However, it was still lacking compared to the vast demand from the hospitals.

“I heard that Su Tao intends to set up a Chinese medicine factory in China, don’t you have any thoughts about it?” Rangure asked with a playful smile.

“I have investigated the situation with Chinese medicine factories. There are several decent medicine factories in the country, but they’re all bound in the country. The difficulty is too great to get through the evaluation from Europe or North America. Furthermore, Chinese medicine research factories require a large investment in both money and energy. It’s impossible to achieve anything in the short term, so I’ve decided to replenish it with other methods by obtaining medicine from Iwata Chinese Research Facility that is internationally acknowledged. This way, we can cut down on the cost and also deal with Su Tao.” Wang Guofeng spoke in a confident tone.

Holding on her chin, Rangure sighed, “I’m surprised that you did not take any following up strategy on this matter.”

“What can set up a medicine factory do? In this era, the channels are kings, and placing more energy on the channels is more important.” Wang Guofeng wore a smug.

“If I’m supporting you to set up a Chinese medicine factory, are you willing to take the bet?” Rangure continued to probe.

“No, it’s foolish without any profits.” Wang Guofeng shook his head and continued, “I would rather use the money to clear up all the channels in the country. This way, we will have more sales channels from the medicine obtained by the Iwata Chinese Medicine Research Facility.”

Rangure sighed as Wang Guofeng’s words made sense, and it sounds like a logical action. However, it lacks vision. Then again, Rangure chose Wang Guofeng because the latter was easy to manipulate despite his ambitions.

After Rangure left the office, Wang Guofeng sighed. He would feel stressed whenever he talks to Rangure. He knew that everything he had was given to him by her, so she can also take it all back.

Wang Guofeng already knew that he did not sleep with Rangure back then, but her substitute.

Facing a woman like her, Wang Guofeng no longer has any thoughts on her as he would only think of how to pander to her.

Not long after Su Tao returned from Russia, he visited Japan, which made Wang Guofeng feel both envious and jealous.

He realised that the gap between him and Su Tao is growing more prominent, but he’s still trying his best to catch up.

However, he couldn’t figure out Su Tao’s thoughts on setting up a Chinese medicine factory as it’s troublesome without any benefits. Not only are their sales bound in the country, but it’s a dream for Su Tao to use Chinese medicine to replace western medicine in China, who reigns supremacy.

Henceforth, he determined that Su Tao’s project on the medicine factory will definitely end up in failure.

The difference between people lies in their vision.

Tapping his finger on the desk, Wang Guofeng gave a call to his Junior Brother, Ling Yu. Even if Ling Yu had rejected the invitation from the Wang Family’s Pharmacy and joined the Three Flavour Hall, Wang Guofeng did not entirely fall out with Ling Yu. He would occasionally show his concern as he believes that Ling Yu will definitely turn back to him for the sake that they’re from the same sect. At that time, he might even be able to launch an attack at Su Tao.

“Junior Brother, how have you been recently?” Wang Guofeng smiled.

“Pretty busy at the pharmacy.” Ling Yu replied honestly.

Letting out a sigh, Wang Guofeng replied, “Generally speaking, a National Healer Grandmaster like you should be considered the treasure of the pharmacy, and you don’t have to treat patients personally most of the time. You must learn how to relax and don’t tire yourself out. Just leave the matters to your subordinates. Are you guys still hiring? Why don’t I introduce you to a few assistants?”

“There are twenty-odd physicians in the pharmacy, but there are too many customers daily. I’m a physician, to begin with, so despite the exhaustion of treating so many patients, I still feel pretty satisfied.” Ling Yu replied honestly as he added, “Master wants me to sharpen myself more and meet more patients to gain more experience, ultimately forming my own style.”

When Wang Guofeng heard Ling Yu’s words, he felt irritated for some reason. For the Sect Master of the Medical Dao Sect to tell Ling Yu that, it meant that the Sect Master had already acknowledged Ling Yu’s medical standard as a grandmaster.

Suppressing the jealousy blazing in his heart, Wang Guofeng smiled, “Are you free this weekend? I’m coming to Beijing for an activity, so why don’t we meet up?”

“Senior Brother, I’m busy here, so I’m not free on weekends. A patient has already waited for a long time, so I will get busy with my work first. Let’s contact each other again another time!” Ling Yu apologised before he hung the call. He wasn’t doing it on purpose as the complexion of the patient sitting before him had an unsightly complexion and has been waiting for a long time. He has to perform acupuncture immediately, or the patient might collapse anytime.

Hearing that the call was hung up on him, Wang Guofeng smacked his phone on the desk furiously. He knew that his Junior Brother had been poisoned by Su Tao, placing his focus on the Three Flavour Hall branch in Beijing instead of him.

“Damn it!” Wang Guofeng roared as his hatred for Su Tao grew deeper.

Sitting in the vehicle, Rangure gave Qin Jingyu a call. Qin Jingyu is currently attending a conference, and he had just finished his presentation. Taking the opportunity of answering the call, he left the conference room.

“Is there any arrangement in Japan?” Qin Jingyu asked.

“We’ve already arranged for Amaki Hamasaki to compete with him. As long as he shows up, he will definitely lose.” Rangure replied with confidence.

“Where did your confidence come from?” Qin Jingyu was curious.

“This Chinese Medicine Discussion is a gathering of those in the Chinese medicine industry, so how can they give Su Tao the chance to shine?” Rangure analysed with a smile.

“You’re right!” Qin Jingyu raised his brows with a cold light flickering in his eyes, “But he’s still getting away with it too easily.”

“Isn’t the Central Healthcare Committee unhappy with Su Tao coming in contact with the Seto Clan several times? If he was defeated on the Chinese Medicine Discussion and someone fanned the fire, his qualification as a National Healer might be removed.” Rangure smiled with a smug.

Qin Jingyu shrugged and acknowledged, “Deal with this matter well. If you do a good job, I might consider giving you some benefits.”

Shaking her finger, Rangure replied, “There’s no need for benefits. I just hope that Young Master Qin can remember me when you achieve success.”

Locking his brows together, Qin Jingyu’s tone suddenly became stern, “Are you treating me as a seed?”

“No, I’m your seed instead!” Rangure chuckled.

When Qin Jingyu ended the call with Rangure, a cold light flashed in his eyes. After he failed his assassination attempt on Su Tao in Russia, Sire Shui had personally warned the Dragon Emperor. Hence, he could no longer dispatch anyone for this matter to assassinate Su Tao again.

But there are many ways to deal with someone. Rumors can kill, and with Su Tao’s identity as a National Healer having an ambiguous relationship with the Seto Clan can affect his prospects.

If it weren’t for the fact that Sire Shui has been protecting Su Tao secretly, Su Tao would be blacklisted by now.

Although Su Tao had created quite a bit of trouble for him, Qin Jingyu still did not consider Su Tao as an opponent.

In Qin Jingyu’s view, Su Tao is only someone to kill him with, and there’s no need for him to make a move personally. He only had to make use of Rangure and Wang Guofeng to destroy Su Tao.

As for Shui Junzhuo, who was in Russia, she’s only temporarily being bewitched by Su Tao. After Su Tao’s reputation was destroyed, he believes that she will make the right choice.

In Qin Jingyu’s view, Su Tao is only an interesting toy for him. Su Tao might have some potential, but he’s still too tender to compete with him.
