Chapter 1029 The Reborn Young Master’s Pampered Cousin (27)

When he returned to life, he firmly kept in mind the imperial examination topics, as well as many major events that would happen.

He could even manipulate the Bai family’s ending.

Leaving just Bai Weiwei…

He had always felt that her character was vicious, but his attitude towards him had inexplicably softened.

But to say that she treated him differently was incorrect, as the way she bullied him was as always.

After she bullied him, she wouldn’t compensate him.

So Qi Chimu felt that he shouldn’t feel so torn.

Qi Chimu wrote for the entire day, and when night fell, he wiped it all away.

Then he sat there in a daze for a moment, only to realize that he seemed to be waiting for someone.

His face darkened, and he lifted the quilt to cover himself, intending to rest early.

But inside the quilt was a light fragrance. It finally hit him today–this quilt had once covered Bai Weiwei’s body.

For a time, he was somewhat uneasy.

Suddenly, the door was softly opened once again.

Familiar footsteps, a familiar fragrance.

In the darkness, all sorts of thoughts were multiplied.

She squatted down, her skirt rustling as it touched the floor. Her soft breaths were filled with the rich aroma of orchids.

All of it made him unable to maintain a tranquil state of mind.

Qi Chimu heard her place down an oil paper bag, grumbling softly, “So hateful, it’s snowing so much outside.”

It was indeed snowing outside.

On the way over, her shoes had gotten soaked.

Qi Chimu kept his eyes open, his back towards her.

But the icy indifference in his eyes was tinted with a trace of some other hue.

He didn’t speak.

Suddenly, a hand gently tugged his quilt.

Qi Chimu stiffened, not moving.

Then, those fingers gently pulled up the quilt, covering his exposed neck.

“Don’t freeze to death.” Bai Weiwei said coldly.

Her fingers pulled away.

Qi Chimu didn’t know what he was thinking–perhaps he no longer felt like concealing his doubts. He reached up and gripped tightly.

But his fingers trembled a few times. It felt as though they were holding a piece of ice.

Why was her hand so cold?

Bai Weiwei, taken aback, tried to pull her hand away, breathing heavily.

Then she saw Qi Chimu sit up. His inky hair draped down to his chest, his bright face as cold as frost. In the darkness, there was only a pair of eyes, carrying a strange light and heat.

A flash of panic swept across Bai Weiwei’s face. She gritted her teeth and said fiercely, “You weren’t sleeping?”

Qi Chimu stared at her motionlessly, his eyes like blades–sharp and gleaming.

Then he said slowly, “I’ve troubled biao mei with delivering food. How could I not get up to greet her.”

Bai Weiwei’s expression changed. “Who sent you food?! It’s no different from sending you poison. Let go.”

Qi Chimu looked at her anxious and panicked appearance. Her fair face was flushed with a thin layer of red, looking pleasing to the eye.

He didn’t let go, and his fingers couldn’t help but softly rub her own.

This action held traces of ambiguity.

“Biao mei’s hand is a bit cold. I will warm it up.”

Bai Weiwei’s face flushed a deeper red. Her other hand suddenly came up to strike his face.

Qi Chimu finally let go, restraining her movement.

Bai Weiwei said with clenched teeth, “Qi Chimu, are you seeking death?”

Qi Chimu’s gaze was overcast, but his voice grew softer. “Biao mei is finally showing her true face. Wishing I would die, yet still behaving kindly to me. It seems that you truly covet that blueprint.”

Bai Weiwei’s gaze trembled. “What are you saying. I don’t know.”

Qi Chimu looked down at the oil paper bag she was going to place down. Her purpose was to be kind to him, but instead she angered him.

He clearly knew that this was poisonous goodwill.

Yet he couldn’t remain unmoved. This was what made him the most furious.

Qi Chimu suddenly captured her wrist and pulled her into his arms.

Bai Weiwei was caught off guard, and she was pulled into his arms. Her body, filled with the scent of orchids, was caught in his embrace.

Once Qi Chimu hugged her, his fingers stiffened, and his breathing was irregular.

So fragrant.

He resisted the throbbing brought about by the scent. In the darkness, his indifferent and elegant face wore a malicious sneer.

“If not for the blueprint, why are you suddenly so good to me?”

His hand pinching her chin used enough force for it to grow red.

Watery mist immediately welled in Bai Weiwei’s eyes. She tried to struggle.

But no matter how weak Qi Chimu was, he was still a man, with much more strength than her.

Then Bai Weiwei heard his light voice, filled with malicious intent.

“Coming to see me so late at night, could it be that biao mei has me in her heart, and came over to devote her body to me?”
