Chapter 1200

The Vampire Prince’s Blood Slave (78)

These words made her expression relax. The sounds of her breathing gradually evened out.

Arthur sighed in relief. He lowered his head, kissing her soft and beautiful hair. His expression was strangely gentle.

The daylight was uncomfortable and dazzled his eyes.

But he recalled the doctor’s words and resisted the urge to draw the curtains.

The doctor said he could no longer force her to drink her blood.

The blood of a prince-rank Blood Kin had a restorative effect for humans, but for humans with a weak constitution, though short-term effects were possible, they were based on the excessive consumption of one’s life force.

In other words, the more he fed her blood, the shorter her lifespan.

To the immortal Blood Kin, humans really were too fragile.

Moreover, she needed sunlight. Those days she was locked in the dungeon had further worsened her physical weakness.

She needed a bright and stable environment.

Arthur had never raised a young girl with such care.

He feared that her fragile, beautiful life, because of a moment of carelessness, would be snuffed out.

Elizabeth bent forward, silently appearing behind Arthur.

“Your Highness, all the information on the trial has been compiled. The scribes are waiting outside.”

Arthur accepted the documents. He clasped Bai Weiwei’s fingers and kissed them, promising softly, “I’ll be back.”

His Highness the prince was acting so frighteningly sticky.

The more frightening thing was that the girl who he was sticking to didn’t even wake up.

By the time Arthur’s head turned, his expression had already changed.

He nimbly stood up and walked out, exuding cold arrogance.

The scribes fearfully described the interrogation process.

Arthur’s expression was glacially cold. “In other words, she didn’t join the rebels, but only stumbled into their meeting. Then you deliberately sent her to die.”

The scribes didn’t dare to make a peep.

This decision wasn’t something small fries like them could make.

Wasn’t it Prince Moore’s judgement?

Arthur sneered, “I truly have been too benevolent to you all. You clearly knew she was my darling1, and you still dared to treat her so.”

Scribes: She’s your darling yet you sent her to trial, you changed your face so quickly.

One tremblingly answered, “Your Highness, this is not something we can decide.”

Arthur, as though he hadn’t heard his words, continued to ask, “Her parents, what happened to them?”

Scribe: “It seems they were killed by a Blood Kin. We still have not investigated.”

Arthur’s expression darkened. “You investigated nothing, then sentenced her for a crime.”

The scribe quivered in fright. “Your Highness, when your esteemed self sent her to trial, was it not acquiescing to letting her die?”

Of the humans who were sent to trial, almost all of them died.

Even if they were wrongly accused of a crime.

This was because humans were too lowly; their deaths held absolutely no significance.

So when Arthur handed over the person, they all thought he wanted her to die, so even if they knew that this young girl was not a rebel, they still had to deal with her.

Arthur also thought of this, and his body prickled with sharp stabs of discomfort.

His brows furrowed, his icy expression deep in thought. Just as he was about to raise his hand to kill these scribes–

A familiar, sweet scent drifted into his nose.

Arthur’s head snapped to the side. On the top of the stairs leading to the great hall, he spotted the flash of a light blue skirt.

That was the nightdress Bai Weiwei was wearing.

Did she hear it all?

Bai Weiwei’s footsteps were soft as she ran down the corridor.

Before she could open the door to her room, a hand crossed over her shoulder and leaned against the door, trapping her in a tight embrace.

Bai Weiwei turned around and found Arthur standing before her. His face still held no expression, but his thin lips were stretched taut, as though in forbearance.
