Chapter 273: Stop! Police!Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

“Not bad, the slaves this time round look pretty good. You actually captured Forest Hunters, Night Elf Sentinels, and oh? There are actually 10 Night Elf Druids? Hahahaha, I have a few brothers who like this type!” The pirate actually began criticizing all the slaves. In fact, he would pinch some of the slaves’ private parts, as if to ‘inspect the quality of the goods’.

Baizhan Yusheng was like Baili Xuanyuan’s spokesperson. He commented coolly, “Since that was a request from Leader Simon, we must do our best to fulfill it. If the payment you give us is up to our satisfaction, the quality of our next batch of goods will only become better!”

The pirate laughed heartily and shouted, “Bring up those chests!”

“Yes!”

Boom—

Boom—

Lin Jie’s heart thudded. Just two chests? 1,000 Night Elves for two chests only? It seemed like the items in the chest were really very valuable then.

In any case, this ‘Simon’—would this person really be the real Simon? He seemed more like a substitute figurehead, actually. After all, Simon was the notorious pirates’ leader, why would he be alerted for the trivial matter of handling slaves?

“Human from the alternate realms, you can check the stuff you get from us. One of the chests contains 100,000 gold coins, and there are loads of Primordial coins and antiques mixed within them. You don’t need to pay us back for the difference in price, just take them all. As for the other chest… hahaha, I am sure with them, your business will become better.”

“Why should we doubt the authenticity of Leader Simon’s stuff? Guys, take these chests up the ship!”

The transaction process began!

Following an order of ‘Bring back the slaves!’ by the pirate, footsteps were heard on the linked wooden bridge—the slaves were being transferred to the pirate ship!

Lin Jie took a deep breath and steadied himself. The moment had arrived! If he rushed out rashly now, he would definitely be attacked by people from both Baili Xuanyuan and the Simon Pirates’ sides, and therefore be killed! He had to think of other methods to spring the ambush!

If only he could rescue some Night Elves, their words would be the best evidence against these crimes! However, players’ backpacks could not hold living creatures—how could he bring them back?

Unless he killed them and threw their bodies inside?

‘Wait a sec…’ Lin Jie’s pupils constricted as he noticed an item in his backpack—the Storage Bag! This was an item that he had gotten from killing the pirates. It had the space of one square meter, and this space would be able to store living creatures!

Lin Jie emptied the Storage Bag. However, the volume of one square meter was still too small for the typical Night Elf, which had a robust stature and would be at least two meters in height. This meant that Lin Jie could only rescue one type of slaves—the Night Elf Druids.

NPCs were different from players. Players with the Druids job could only learn transformation skills for the purpose of battling, but Night Elf Druids could transform into different types of animals at their own will.

Settling on this idea, Lin Jie dived down to the bottom of the pirate ship and activated Fog Concealment, becoming invisible. Using the effects of this skill, Lin Jie secretly climbed up from one side of the pirate ship and hung onto its border.

One of the pirates was standing guard, and he stepped on a fully trussed up Night Elf. Even though she was tied up tightly, her signature voluptuous figure was still revealed for all to see.

From the Night Elf’s slightly beast-like cat ears, one could determine that this must be a Night Elf Druid.

Lin Jie peeped out secretly. As the Night Elf was facing towards the outside of the ship, her eyes opened wide the moment she saw Lin Jie. Various kinds of emotions were seen within her eyes—shock, surprise, worry. If not for the fact that her mouth was stuffed, she would most probably have screamed out loud.

[Night Elf Tamora] (Elite)

Level 30

Health Points: 1,000/12,000

Attack: 102-218

Defense: 35

Note: The search notice for Tamora has been hung up within the Guild of Light for numerous days. If you manage to find her, you will be rewarded handsomely.

As she did not have any weapons or equipment on her, her Stats were extremely bad. Consequently, the pirate guard was not doing a very good job at watching guard—instead, he was eyeing the bodies of the various female Night Elves salaciously. They would be the main highlights of their celebration party tonight.

Lin Jie made a gesture for the Night Elf Druid to keep silent. She nodded fervently, but one could see fear written all over her eyes.

Lin Jie observed two of the pirate guards. They were all Enhanced Elites and had pretty much the same Stats as the Simon Pirates who were involved in the Epic grade mission previously. The only difference was that their health bars were not full!

That’s right—after all, Lin Jie had made use of the meatball-like Boss to cause much damage to the pirates on the pirate ship previously. Almost all of them had been affected by that attack, and their health points had dropped to between 20% to 40% of their original health bars. This was also the reason why that ship’s captain was so angered!

‘Well, sometimes things do turn out pretty funny. Considering how I had the name of ‘Battle Emperor’, but I still have to fight like a Bandit now…’ Lin Jie’s lips curved up into a cold smile, as he focused his aim at the pirates’ buttocks—this was their weak point, and he could cause additional Weak Point damage if he hit them at those spots!

Ice Spirit Slash!

Lin Jie froze one of the pirates. Following which, he immediately dealt out a Combo attack of Shield Cut and Army Obliteration upon the other pirate’s buttocks—that pirate had a total of health points less than 25% of his original health bar.

-1,782!

-783! -1,374! -800! -1,528!

He instakilled the pirate just with this set of skills!

Lin Jie then swiftly cut apart the ropes, which tied up the Night Elf and opened up his backpack, revealing a small space. Tamora understood at once and transformed into a squirrel, hiding into the space.

‘Okay, my motive’s reached, retreat!’

Lin Jie dived into the water and swam as deep as he could go. In any case, he had the Naga’s Trident with him, so he did not need to worry about the problem of breathing underwater. The deeper he dived into the waters, there would be a lesser chance of him being discovered and caught.

“Who?!”

“There are Bandits around!”

“What Bandits? You mean a stray Bandit dare to come here?”

“Hmph, it definitely cannot be any stray Bandit. The person must have sneaked in from either of our companies.”

“Do not treat this matter lightly! Boys, rake fire! Kill that darn person!”

Sparks flew out from the fire guns, and it looked like someone had lit released pretty fireworks within the night sky—except that there was nothing to celebrate for. Instead, those were ominous signs of Death! Even though Lin Jie had dived about tens of meters down into the sea, the bullets still shot straight through the water mercilessly.

Luckily, Lin Jie had already dived quite a distance down, and with the deterrence by the sea waters, the bullets did not hit him. If not, his blood would have flown out, exposing his whereabouts.

He looked at the space in his backpack. The Druid Tamora, who had transformed into a squirrel, was looking up adorably at him with wide eyes. It spoke in human language abruptly and asked, “You are a human being from the alternate realms? But you aren’t part of the slave traders?”

“Of course, if not, I wouldn’t have rescued you,” replied Lin Jie. “I want to stop this transaction, but I cannot do this all alone. Please tell me whatever news you know about them.”

“Okay,” said Tamora, nodding her head. She appeared to believe Lin Jie’s words, and she spoke in a grim voice, “We don’t really know much about the human slave traders from the alternate realms. I can only tell you what I experienced, and this was what happened: five days ago, two of my elder sisters and I were touring the City of Elves, and we passed by a village called the ‘Elves’ Town’. This town appeared as a peaceful and quaint little place, and the people there seemed kind and undeceiving. Coupled with the fact that it offers free lodging and void all expenses for traveling elves, we decided to stay there for three days. During those three days, my sisters and I taught the residents the techniques of being druids, and spread the Nature belief to them…”

“Until that fateful night, the townsfolk said they wanted to thank us, and gave us fruit wine which they claimed to have made by themselves. We lost consciousness after we consumed the wine, and when we next woke up, we were already on the cargo ship… Then, I was rescued by you just now—”

Lin Jie creased his brows. “Three days? You mean you stayed in the small town for a full three days? No way, from what know of that fellow’s despicable character, he wouldn’t waste so much time—he would have just captured you all on the first night.”

“Maybe it’s because of my sister… She’s a Great Arcane Druid. That night, she drank more wine than both of us. It was as if the townsfolk had purposely planned for this—they were literally forcing her to drink the wine. We couldn’t reject their generosity…” faltered Tamora in her speech, as she began to make sense of what had happened.

Lin Jie mused, ‘Great Arcane Druid? Which means she must be at least of Level 50 and above?’

A Great Arcane Druid was akin to a player who had successfully entered the Nature Temple to learn a skill and graduated from there after his or her first Job Change.

Such characters would be able to provide great help when testifying against Baili Xuanyuan’s slave-trading crimes!

“Where’s your elder sister? I need her help!”

“She’s about 400 people behind me, I can help you!”

Lin Jie had an idea, and he proposed, “I will go make some distraction up there. Meanwhile, you go and help free the slaves and save as many of them as possible.”

“Yes!” Tamora wriggled out from the space and transformed into a flounder.

Lin Jie took out the Illusionary Bullets and saw that he still had 16 of them left. They could be used as explosives, and could cause loud explosions—definitely the best choice of materials for causing disorder!

The transaction point between the pirates and Baili Xuanyuan’s people had obviously become more guarded due to Lin Jie’s appearance. The slaves were being transferred even faster by the pirates onto their ship.

“Fog Concealment!”

Lin Jie concealed his figure among the fog again. This time round, he climbed up from one side of the Flying-Wing Cargo Ship. The whole of the cargo ship was filled with Night Elves, and there were fewer players present there. It wasn’t as heavily guarded as the NPCs’ pirate ship.

With a flip, Lin Jie landed upon the ship!

He walked to the middle of the ship deck gradually and revealed himself. Acting upon an impulsive shot of adrenaline, he shouted loudly, “Stop! Police!”

“Police?!”

“Kill him!”

“It’s that Bandit… no, he’s a Warrior!”

“F*ck whatever police! Catch him and throw him to feed the fishes in the sea!”

A few hundred pairs of eyes focused on Lin Jie. All sorts of bullets, spells, and arrows were thrown at him.

Lin Jie revealed a wide grin and played with a few “cutesy” Illusionary Bullets which he held in his hands…

Bang—

With a loud explosion, smoke spread everywhere, and naturally, all the attacks aimed at Lin Jie did not hit target! Under the effects of the Fog Concealment skill, Lin Jie turned invisible and activated Hunter’s Forward Charge and Wild Charge! He aimed at one of the players standing near the ship bow, and with two consecutive moves of Shield Cut and Army Obliteration, he cut off that player’s head and squatted down, changing direction.

After two seconds, the effects of the Fog Concealment skill were activated again. Lin Jie was like a lone wolf prowling under the moonlight, licking his fangs as he aimed for his next target.

Forward Charge!

Weakness Exploit!

Blood Light Multi-Slash!

“Ah—”

Another painful yell was heard. Two players from the Baili family, who were originally standing on the ship deck, dropped down dead.

Following which, another shout was heard at the ship bow again!

“Be careful! The enemy must be accompanied by a group of Bandits, guard your backs!”

“One Warrior and one group of Bandits, this is really…”

“Hunters, Hunters! Release your fire arrows!”

The Hunters started stringing their bows, and fire arrows shot through the air.

Yet, the fog did not get any thinner!

‘Hahaha, the fog here at Crying Bay is such a great cover-up for me!’ thought Lin Jie as he let out a hearty laugh. If not for this fog, this battle would be at least 10 times or more difficult!

Blade Auras were shot out all around, and other than hurting his enemy, they slit open the ropes which tied the slaves up.

“Sisters, we are free! Fight for our freedom!”

“I am the one who binds beasts up all the time. The audacity of you to capture me, you are asking for death!”

What’s even scarier than tigers? Enraged tigresses, and worst, incensed women! At this moment, all the Night Elves who were freed were acting literally like tigresses. They looked like they couldn’t wait to devour the players in front of them!

Suddenly, a terrifying aura spread out from the pirate ship’s direction. One pirate who wore heavily-ringed mail appeared, carrying two massive guns. He aimed both guns coldly at Baili Xuanyuan’s Flying-Wing Cargo Ship, and bang—

Bullets exploded in waves after waves, and stray pieces of bullets shot about everywhere—it was the Scattershot skill!

-4857! -5693! -5263!

Most of the slaves who stood up to resist were immediately wounded or killed!

‘It’s Simon!’ Lin Jie was stunned.
