Chapter 1260: That Young Chap Jialue Is Very Capable

Lea’s words were always very logical so Gu Mengmeng accepted his suggestion without any qualms. As a result, Gu Mengmeng was rather free over the next three days. On the other hand, Lea and Jialue were constantly huddled together in secret discussions…

On the fourth day, Lea entered the stone castle with a huge grin on his face. He spread his arms wide for a hug from Gu Mengmeng the moment he came in.

Gu Mengmeng didn’t know what Lea was up to, but still threw herself into his embrace to give him a “welcome home” hug.

Lea stroked Gu Mengmeng’s head. “Mmm, I have been neglecting you these three days… did you miss me? Mmm?”

Gu Mengmeng chuckled. Although Lea had been a bit more busy, he did not neglect her at all. No matter how busy he was, he would still rush back to prepare her three meals for her. If a problem could be solved without stepping out of the stone castle, he would not go out at all. At the most, he would just hold his secret discussions with Jialue now and then in the meeting room.

His so-called neglect was probably because he was not by her side 24/7.

“Heartless.” Lea pinched Gu Mengmeng’s cheek as he grumbled. “I have been missing you to death every second we were apart. But you didn’t care at all that I wasn’t by your side… am I still your most beloved partner? Mmm?”

Gu Mengmeng’s smiled widened. She really didn’t know what to do with him.

Lea sounded like a aggrieved concubine. Gu Mengmeng felt as if she should be hooking his chin and saying something like “come, your lord will shower with you love and affection tonight”.

“This Gregory has yet to enter our family and I already lost my special status. What if you really accept him in future… will I still have any place left in this household?”

Gu Mengmeng looked at Lea with a shocked face. “What has this got to do wtih Gregory? I don’t like that grumpy old man at all.”

Gu Mengmeng felt that she didn’t have any masochistic tendencies. She already had Lea and Elvis—two loving partners who catered to her every whim—why would she like that arrogant block of ice? Moreover, she already said that two partners were more than enough for her. She would never take on a third.

Lea’s mood improved on seeing the disdain on Gu Mengmeng’s face. He carried her and walked over to Elvis to place her in his arms. He then sprawled across her knees. “That young chap Jialue is very capable. He managed to squeeze out quite a bit of information from that bird beast.”

“Oh?” Gu Mengmeng always knew Jialue was smart, but never expected him to be able to crack a person whom even Lea could not handle. She immediately perked up with interest. “What did he manage to squeeze out? Tell me?”

Lea waved his tail lazily and Gu Mengmeng instinctively reached out to grab it. She held the fluffy white tail in her arms and stroked it.

Narrowing his eye in pleasure at being stroked, Lea said, “The vultures are similar to the snow foxes. They are both the followers of the Beast Deity. The difference is that the snow foxes represent the light, overseeing all land beasts from Sauder; while the vultures represent the dark, leading all flying beasts and guarding the sacred objects. From what Gregory implied, they are not just guarding the Love of the Sky. There are a number of other sacred objects as well. But Jialue did not dare to ask what those objects are, as Gregory would get suspicious if he probed too much. It will be very difficult to get Gregory to open up again once he raises his guard.”

“I see…” Apart from the Love of the Sky, Gu Mengmeng was not curious about the other sacred objects at the Motou mountain range, anyway. One could not be too greedy. She was not a bandit and there was no need for her to clean out the entire stash, right?
