Chapter 1395: An Old Affair Cannot Compete With A New Love, A First Love Is Not As Good As A Long-Term Companion

So although the seven wolves didn’t harbor pure intentions, they would never do anything that would harm Sandy.

But the Beast King of the snow fox clan… was Cole.

She didn’t trust Cole, so much so that she also didn’t trust everyone in the snow fox clan. As a result, she would never agree to let any snow fox weasel their way into Sandy’s family.

“Previously you lost to Hodgson, you must have felt extremely aggrieved? Your abilities were obviously on par but you lost by a slight point… aiya, it’s truly aggravating just to think of it.” Lea waved his tail as he said casually, “But he is now a fourth-level beast. I wonder if you will still be a match for him if the two of you fight again.”

Lea’s meaning was clear: if he wished to pursue Sandy, he would have to challenge her males. The wolf clan would never easily allow a snow fox to form a marriage alliance with Sandy. Hence, Hodgson would be an impassable obstacle. The alliance was an impossibility.

But Arnold just lowered his head and smiled. “Then when your Ninth Highness first became partners with the Great Messenger, was it because you managed to defeat the Wolf King?”

Lea raised his brows with a smile. “Why? Are you Sandy’s first love?”

Arnold shook his head. “No.”

Lea asked again, “There’s a lingering old love affair between you and Sandy?”

Arnold shook his head again. “No.”

Lea chuckled. “Then what are you using to compare with me?”

Arnold stood up straighter and smiled. With his back lit by the sun, he looked rather like a traveling scholar. He said in a soft, low voice, “An old affair cannot compete with a new love, while a first love is not as good as a long-term companion. It has always been the snow fox clan rejecting others, and never the other way round. After all, when a male snow fox sets his mind to woo a female… even a worldly female like the Great Messenger succumbed to the charms of his Ninth Highness? I am not as good as his Ninth Highness, but I should be good enough for Sandy.”

Lea didn’t get angry but just laughed. “But you can’t even enter the territory now, can you?”

Arnold nodded and said in a neutral tone, “I heard that the Great Messenger chased his Ninth Highness out of her territory several times, but his steadfast commitment to her finally touched her heart. I also wish to emulate his Ninth Highness and take on the role of a devoted lover.”

Lea nodded. “Good luck.”

With that, he waved his tail and looked at Gu Mengmeng. “This fellow needs to cultivate his lovesick scene, so let’s not interrupt him further. Also, Sandy must be waiting anxiously for you and will grumble if we delay.”

“Alright.” Gu Mengmeng didn’t say anything more but just followed Elvis and Lea into Sandy’s territory.

Sandy usually sat outside the cave sunbathing, but she was hiding inside today, obviously avoiding Arnold.

A look of distress crossed Sandy’s face the moment she saw Gu Mengmeng. “Is that person still standing at the border of my territory?”

Gu Mengmeng nodded as Elvis placed her beside Sandy’s bed. She shifted to sit in front of Sandy and lifted Daji into her arms. As she played with Daji, Gu Mengmeng said to Sandy, “Since you don’t like him, just get Collin or Hodgson to chase him off. Why hide inside here like this? It makes it look like you did something wrong.”

Sandy sighed. “The marriage alliance between the 16 tribes and the wolf clan has made the snow fox clan all paranoid and jittery. We have always had a special relationship and they will take my actions to be your decree. If I let Collin or Hodgson chase off that Arnold, wouldn’t it force the snow fox clan over to the enemy side?”
