Chapter 1391: You Are My Mother And Not Some Great Messenger.

Gu Mengmeng pushed open the door and those four young fellows instantly stiffened up. Their eyes snapped open and stared at the door for half a second. Gu Mengmeng knew they looked alert but were still muddled with sleep, hence she smiled. “Go on and continue sleeping. When Daddy Lea finishes preparing the meal, I will come and call you again.”

The youngsters nodded dumbly before their heads collapsed back onto the bed to continue snoring.

Gu Mengmeng couldn’t help smiling as she shook her head. Elvis carried her to the second floor. “You should also take a nap. I will call you after Lea has prepared the meal.”

Gu Mengmeng was indeed tired after a long night. Therefore, she didn’t object and allowed Elvis to bring her up to the second floor to rest.

She slept the entire day. By the time she woke up, it was already the evening.

Rubbing her eyes, she saw her four sons surrounding Elvis. They looked like they had been fighting for quite awhile, as all four youngsters were drenched in sweat. Nonetheless, their eyes sparkled with excitement.

It was four against one, but Elvis still handled them effortlessly. The four young fellows tried all sorts of coordinated tactics but failed to even come close to cracking Elvis.

Lea had his back toward the sun and his shadow was lengthened by the rays. His lips curled up instinctively when he saw Gu Mengmeng descending the stairs. He ladled food as he said, “Mengmeng, you are up? You must be hungry, come over here to eat.”

Gu Mengmeng nodded and walked over to the side of the dining table. Lea placed a bowl on it and her four sons scurried over to take their respective seats.

Kanwu was sitting nearest to her and Gu Mengmeng used a small animal skin to wipe the sweat off his forehead. She said with a smile, “Look at you all, all sweaty…”

Kanwu chortled. “Mother, it’s really something else to fight with a Beast King.”

Gu Mengmeng smiled helplessly. “You don’t hold any advantage at all, what’s so great about that?”

Kanwu shook his head in all seriousness. “Which wolf can hope to have any advantage over the Wolf King? It is a sure defeat. But just by the fact that the four of us dare to attack the Wolf King shows that we are more valiant than other wolves. Just look at mother-in-law’s seven wolf partners. Collin said that they are ferocious when at home, but are all as meek as mice before the Wolf King, not daring to even breathe too loudly.”

Gu Mengmeng patted Kanwu’s little head. “Yes yes yes. You four are the most valiant and the bravest. After all, who was the one who gave birth to you?”

Kanwu beamed smugly.

Gu Mengmeng asked, “But why are you calling him Wolf King and not father?”

Kanwu stiffened his neck arrogantly. “I will call him father when that form of address becomes more respected than the title Wolf King.”

“Silly boy. Father and mother are the world’s most respected forms of address. They are not something that can be replaced by any other titles.”

Kanwu shook his head. “No. I will call the Wolf King father again when I also become a Beast King one day.”

Gu Mengmeng gave in. Her son was so ambitious and it wouldn’t do for her to dampen his spirit. Further, Elvis himself didn’t object, so how could she insist? Hence, she just stroked Kanwu’s head. “What about me? Are you going to call me the Great Messenger or the Snake King?”

Kanwu clung onto Gu Mengmeng’s arm childishly. “No, you are my mother and not some Great Messenger.”
