Chapter 1338: Gregory To The Rescue

The wall collapsed, causing a large amount of snow to pour into the stone castle and almost burying Gu Mengmeng alive.

The sudden turnout of events was too sudden that Gu Mengmeng just stood rooted to the ground, not knowing how to react.

But it was only a short moment before a dark figure shadowed them and Gu Mengmeng felt herself being protected by something. Then she heard the sound of snow crashing down. It took her a long while before she regained her senses and a familiar voice came from above her. “Were you frightened?”

Gu Mengmeng looked up and stared blankly for a while, saying, “Gre… Gregory? Didn’t you return to Motou Mountains? Why are you here?”

Gregory sighed and did not reply to her question. He forced open his wings and pushed the piling snow to the side. Gu Mengmeng then realized at this moment that Gregory had used his wings to surround her and protected her with his own body like a bomb shelter.

She had no time to thank him and hurriedly used her hands to dig through the snow at the side. As she dug, she shouted, “Elvis! Elvis?! Lea… Lea!”

Gregory did not say anything and used his wings to help her sweep away the snow, and then pull Elvis and Lea, who were both unconscious, out of the snow.

“This place is not safe, do you have other plans?” Gregory looked at Gu Mengmeng and asked.

Gu Mengmeng hesitated for a while. She wanted to say that they could return to Saint Nazaire, but this snow had been falling for almost a month and Saint Nazaire was most likely already buried in the snow. Not only did Gregory not know where Saint Nazaire was, even if he did, she had no way to find her cave entrance in the snow.

Gregory looked at Gu Mengmeng’s hesitant look and tried asking, “How about… following me to Motou Mountains?”

Gregory looked up at Gregory and asked, “Can I?”

Gregory laughed softly, “Aren’t you the messenger of the beast deity? Aren’t the rules in the Beast World set by you?”

Gu Mengmeng smiled helplessly. The situation before her was really miserable – she looked more like a downtrodden Cinderella, how could she still look like a noble messenger of the beast deity?

She lifted her head and combed her messy hair. After patting the beast skin on her, she said, “Yeah, I am the messenger of the beast deity and the rules in the Beast World are set by me. If the Beast Deity is angry because you had brought me up to the mountains, I will bear the responsibility… After all, I am the only daughter of the Beast Deity, my father will always give in to me.”

Gregory reached out his hands and wanted to pat Gu Mengmeng’s head, but his hands were frozen in midair and did not reach down. He turned around so that he could open up his wings behind me, and said, “Come up.”

“Eh?” Gu Mengmeng was a little hesitant and replied, “This… isn’t really appropriate?”

Going on someone’s back has a symbolic meaning. In the Beast World, the back is the greatest dignity of a male.

Many male beasts would not bat an eyelid if they had to die for their female partners, but they would never let them go on their backs.

Sandy and Collin had become partners for a few years, but up till now, Collin had never carried Sandy on his back.

Ian had carried Gu Mengmeng once and had almost used his death to threaten her, to swear that she would never tell it to anyone.

Yet, Gregory casually smiled and replied, “My hands are my wings and I need them to fly, and my legs have to carry both your partners… Unless you want to hang you from my mouth, how else are we going up the Motou Mountains?”
