Chapter 885: Assassination Mission

Fortunately, the mask was not class-specific, so everyone could wear it.

“Let’s go.”

Lu Li instantly thought about wearing the uniform of the leader, but he decided against it. After all, wearing a mask was not that bad anyway.

Everyone could betray their morals to a certain extent; it was only a matter of how much.

“Nope, I can’t do it,” Wandering said as he touched his own face while grimacing. “I’m sorry, it just feels wrong to wear a mask like this.”

“I don’t want to do it either. This helmet already blocks everything; the piece of cloth is just too much,” another member complained.

“I have a better one…” Hachi Chan began as she proceeded to take out a pink mask.

Everyone had already teared up and refused to ask about the properties of this pink mask.

“Lu Li, go ahead and use it. You attract the most attention out of all of us anyway,” Sakura Memories said. “After all, even if we were just walking around, no one would attack us randomly. You’ll be safer.”

“Dear sister, why did you have to say something like that?” Lu Li thought to himself.

Lu Li took a deep breath and gave Sesame Rice Ball his original mask. Because he possessed a gate that could teleport players, Sesame Rice Ball had target painted on his back. If a player from an opposing guild was given the chance to assassinate him, they would most definitely jump on it.

“How about trying the next Boss instead?” Azure Sea Breeze suggested, to which everyone agreed.

At this point, they were feeling at the top of their game. After all, they had just killed a number of Bosses in succession. Even the previous neglect from the mayor had been forgotten already, and they were extremely eager to fight the next Boss, which was Ramstein the Gorger.

“Alright then, we’ll stop here for today. You’re free to do whatever you want for the rest of the time. Remnant Dream and Hachi Chan, log off and rest,” Lu Li said as he shook his head.

“Why? It’s still early,” Hachi Chan protested.

“Stop complaining. It’s for your own good. Young people need to rest earlier – otherwise you’ll grow up to be ugly like that guy.”

Lu Li had learned how to scare young children, since he had a young sister in real life. Lu Xin had heard many of these tales from her older brother.

“What the…what do you mean by that?” It appeared that Lu Li had offended someone else instead.

After leaving his party behind, Lu Li decided to shop around for rare items that they could use in the future. With this in mind, he had already borrowed a few hundred gold coins from Square Root 3. Square Root 3 was the guild’s ATM; he would always have an abundant collection of gold coins at his disposal at all times.

Major organisations, especially entertainment companies, would usually host activities where gold could be exchange for guild points.

Smaller organisations could not afford to do this, as their points had little value.

Ruling Sword’s storage contained many prestigious items, equipment, tools and herbs. As such, the guild members would not hesitate to trade away their money.

Square Root had also implemented a limit as to how much they could exchange in order to give everyone a fair chance.

Because of this, Lu Li would usually have more than enough gold coins in his possession. Recently, he had gone on a massive spending spree and was indebted to Shen Wansan. However, this was recovered over a span of two days when they held an exchanging event.

Of course, the guild points were not that expendable. If the guild storage items were all taken, then the overall strength of Ruling Sword would be affected.

Furthermore, the price of each item could not be set recklessly.

Savory Deviate Delight!

For 6 gold coins!

Lu Li instantly grabbed it at first sight.

For this recipe, even 60 gold would have been worth it. Savory Deviate Delight was an extremely delicious dish, and could also transform the consumer into a pirate or a ninja.

This recipe could be found throughout the Barrenlands, but it was an extremely rare find.

Although every monster there could drop this recipe, people could grind there for days on end and find nothing. Once everyone found out about the value of this recipe, even the newcomers would rush there.

During the previous Instance dungeon clears, Hachi Chan had mentioned this item. Sadly, Remnant Dream hadn’t been able to loot it, even after all this time.

After buying the recipe straight away, Lu Li did not plan on selling it. After all, it was only worth a few hundred gold coins. Instead, he planned to give it to Hachi Chan.

Hachi Chan’s pet dragon had been in deep slumber after consuming Eranikus’ dragon essence. Due to this, she had been constantly worried and saddened. As such, Lu Li thought that this would cheer her up a fair bit.

Suddenly, he received a message from Water Fairy.

“What are you doing right now? I need help with something.”

“Well, I’m free at the moment. What do you need?” Lu Li asked. They were allies, so it would not have looked good on his part to reject her request. He had finished browsing the markets anyway, after spending a few hundred gold coins on rare materials and the Savory Deviate Delight.

“I’m doing a quest at Ravenholdt. It’s not too difficult, but it’s a little troublesome,” Water Fairy explained.

“Why don’t you look for your guildmates?” Lu Li asked.

Straight after he closed his mouth, he realised that this was not the smartest question. After all, he had known that Water Fairy would not come to him if she could help it.

“Assassinate an NPC in the Orc camp. I called you because only a person in the inner circle of the Ravenholdt organisation can share and party up in this quest,” Water Fairy said, then continued to explain the details of the quest as Lu Li hurried towards the location.

1. Kill the employees of Gadgetzan Water Survey!

2. Steal the resources of Gadgetzan Water Survey!

3. Rob Gadgetzan Water Survey’s wealth!

Two adventurers at Ravenholdt had already accepted this quest before Water Fairy had, but both had failed. Their loss in experience points were negligible in comparison to the prestige and popularity that they had also lost with the Ravenholdt organisation.
