Chapter 1923: The Illiterate Counterattack

Maybe it was because the old gentleman Mr. Fan or Water Fairy had already prepared everyone, and so this group of people didn’t give Lu Li a hard time.

It was just the eldest uncle and the third uncle that asked Lu Li some things about his upbringing and his career. Others, especially the young people, were mostly actually interested in Lu Li’s involvement in the game Dawn, especially the third uncle. He was actually a professor on stuff about the gaming industry and the second in charge at a famous university, a national authority in this area.

Businesspeople, politicians, scientists, scholars…

Doctor, doctor, doctor, professor, assistant professor…

You didn’t have to guess how much the Fan family owned, nor did you have to do any research to learn about their social standing. You just had to get a taste of this family’s culture and you would know how this family reached their prosperity.

But Lu Li, he was illiterate.

If the Fan family really didn’t see eye-to-eye with him, they could just find some sophisticated topic to talk about.

But they chatted to Lu Li about games, which was purposely making it easy for Lu Li.

It was a very lively, noisy atmosphere to have the whole family together. Lu Li had never experienced this sort of liveliness before, he didn’t reject it.

The impression that Lu Li left everyone was that he was very capable in gaming. And like those who were born from the Shen family, he didn’t think that having money was something super amazing, nor did he think that official positions were so awesome. What they liked was one’s authority within a certain area.

And Lu Li had this exact sort of authority.

So, if you were good at gaming, you could also have a chance to get this ideal, beautiful rich girl.

Seeing the family meant that Lu Li and Water Fairy had formally become boyfriend and girlfriend. However, the Fan family thought that the two of them got into some pretty feisty arguments, and their identity as boyfriend and girlfriend was already doomed.

So after they ate, Water Fairy’s eldest uncle brought up the issue of whether or not they needed to be engaged.

Lu Li and Water Fairy were both so dumbstruck.

Then they received criticism from their seniors, could it be they were just playing around? If so, they wouldn’t have to see him again.

As Lu Li was leaving the Fan family, he was covered with sweat. On the contrary, Lu Yin was bouncing around like she had a lot of fun.

The Fan family had a few little kids under 10 years old, boys all around the place. Their only sister was quite indifferent to those kids, so it was a rare chance today to have a beautiful older sister come. The main thing was that the beautiful older sister was willing to play with them, and so Lu Yin had become their ‘best’ friend.

Water Fairy’s third uncle even talked about things after Lu Li and Water Fairy’s marriage.

Were they going to join together to become an even stronger club? Or maintain the status quo and simply have an allied relationship?

There were advantages and disadvantages to these. If they joined together, there’d be a lot of trouble, with various benefits being reassigned and so on. The speed of Ruling Sword’s development was because they reduced these distractions. But if they really did join together, then Glory Capital’s hegemony would be over.

There were clubs before who had allied together to resist Ruling Sword.

But those alliances were just simple alliances. Both sides’ benefits weren’t completely equal, and all sorts of things kept on happening. A lot of the time, before they could contend against Glory Capital, the alliances were usually already breaking down.

A lot of the Fan family were curious about what the two of them would do about these issues.

They weren’t concerned about the assets themselves. When you had accumulated a certain amount of money, it just became a simple number. What was more important was the career that had been built over this process.

Lu Li and Water Fairy had never discussed this issue. And now, they couldn’t discuss and come up with a result either. In the end, they could only go and develop their own separate ways, and at most, they would work a bit closer and a bit more often.

After all, these leaders of the two clubs had benefits that were equally high. Even if there was some issue, they could take it home to resolve it. And no matter what the issue was, it wouldn’t impact the cooperation of the two clubs.

Since they defeated Gruul and Magtheridon, Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye had opened their gates to Ruling Sword.

It was a question as to which one would attack first.

Later, it would still be Sky Moon who decided to fight Serpentshrine Cavern first, because relatively speaking, they could still take The Eye a bit more slowly for now.

Whoever could control water could control the whole Outland.

This principle was handed down by Illidan Stormrage to his most trusted subordinate Lady Vashj. Not long after the third war, Illidan sought the assistance of the Naga, and a group of Naga led by Lady Vashj responded to Illidan’s call. From then on, Vashj was intensely devoted to the service of Illidan.

Now, this Naga Witch sat on the authoritative throne in Serpentshrine Cavern, carefully monitoring the activities of the Colifang. Compared to when she was bound inside the icy stone walls of Black Temple, amidst the water of the reservoir, she felt more at ease. She continued to watch her subordinates intensely, and even personally supervised the training efforts of Zangarmarsh.

But was she only loyal to Illidan, or was she waiting for someone else too?

Like before, Lu Li didn’t take command, instead he remained at a solid output position. Along with Water Fairy, the two of them treated this place as a holiday spot, chatting quietly if no one was around them.

For example, gossiping about why Egg got pursued by Maiev, and how could Maiev have defeated Egg.

They concluded it might have been love, Tyrande loved Malfurion, Illidan loved Tyrande and Maiev loved Illidan. It was like a circle that could never be completed perfectly. Immediately, Water Fairy felt unhappy. Maybe Malfurion liked his younger brother, it was hard to say.

If there was a relatively longer rest break, the odd couple might even spar with each other.

At this time, those who liked gambling could gather around and place bets. Lu Li and Water Fairy were of similar power, Lu Li was just slightly better, but he obviously couldn’t win against Water Fairy every time. But he couldn’t lose either. If you met a guy that couldn’t even defeat you, why would you still be with them?

That’s why Lu Li and Water Fairy’s battles were filled with uncertainty. This sort of uncertainty was perfect for betting. You didn’t need much, just win or lose a few hundred gold.

It look a really long time to destroy the first Boss in Serpentshrine Cavern.

The first Boss was called Hydross the Unstable. The original name was Fury of Water Hydross, the Guardian of Water in the Outland, the Water Element Guardian in The Throne of the Elements.

When Vashj occupied the Colifang Cavern, she had her eyes on Hydross. She realised that if Hydross was able to help her guard the gates to Serpentshrine Cavern, she wouldn’t have to worry about things at home. And so she came to Nagrand, polluting the water elements in the lake. Hydross realised that the lake water of Sunspring Post had been polluted and rushed over to have a closer look.

This poor guy had fallen into Vashj’s well-furnished trap. The Hydross that was tricked by Vashj turned crazy and lost his mind, and even began to attack any living thing nearby.

Later, Hydross was taken by Vashj to Serpentshrine Cavern and helped her guard the gates to Serpentshrine Cavern.

This Boss couldn’t be killed quickly.

But Lu Li didn’t need to command, and he had a beautiful girl for company, so he didn’t get tired out at all.
