Chapter 1213: Summoning the Demon

Translator: Halcyon Translations  Editor: Halcyon Translations

Lu Li stared at the empty lab helplessly as he couldn’t find any boxes that could hide anything. So where did Allistarj hide the talisman?

Did he go out today with his box?

Lu Li hated these kinds of NPCs who didn’t play by the book, but there was no use in this anger. The System didn’t give any further hints about the situation.

Lu Li guessed that either Allistarj had taken it with him, or it was hidden in a much safer place.

The prior meant that he would have to bring a team with him to kill the Mage and the latter would suggest that something was off about this lab. Most likely, the lab wasn’t as simple as it appeared. Were there hidden doors?

After some testing, LU Li finally found a smooth track on the walls.

It was as if someone touched it often, and gradually, the colour and smoothness of the spot became different from other parts of the wall. Carefully, Lu Li placed his hands on the spot and pressed it. He saw that the middle ground of the lab split in two and a workplace rose from it.

An Archmage’s collection?

Lu Li looked at the workplace interestedly, but he didn’t immediately to steal things. Instead, he tossed out two rubbish equips as a test and only approached after he was sure that there were no traps.

Some Mages were very careful and placed traps even in areas where they slept.

The workplace was littered with bottles. Some of them were only materials, some were half complete and only a few were final products.

Then, Lu Li found that he could only pick up the bottles that had been fully created.

Ogre Potion – this allowed an Ogre to transform into a human for a certain period of time. Lu Li had no clue what this could be used for, since players couldn’t ever choose to be an Ogre.

Elixir of Water Walking – this was useful in certain situations.

Then, there was a Giant Potion. If a player from a smaller race like Gnomes or Dwarves played a tank role, and the healer couldn’t find them, what could they do? The Giant potion was the solution. No matter how small their character was, they would instantly grow into a giant.

Magic Resistance Potion – increases magic resistance for a certain period of time. This was slightly more useful.

Besides these, there was also a tiny potion. It didn’t come with much description, and only had one sentence –”after you use it, you’ll become attractive to the opposite sex”.

Lu Li had never heard of this item and has no clue of its use, but it seemed to be useful, so he packed it away carefully.

There were also other potions, none of which were commonly found on the market. It seemed like this Allistarj was an alchemist. Lu Li took all that he could. He had just cleared his bag before, so he had a lot of space.

After he took what he could, Lu Li still remembered what was important. He found a locked box under the table.

With some anticipation, Lu Li opened the box and was left in bewilderment. A giant box that only contained one talisman?

After Lu Li obtained the talisman, he immediately escaped through the window with his crow form.

In the TV shows, the bad guys always liked to take their time. If his guess was right, Lu Li probably would have caught the attention of Allistarj the moment he triggered the workplace. He didn’t even want to know the strength of this Archmage.

He obtained all three talismans and returned to Trebor.

The Demon Hunter Loramus was already waiting there. He seemed to be wearing a new suit and looked a lot better than the last time Lu Li had seen him. The two battle blades glowed green in his hands and he seemed like a new person, as if he was about to start a new journey.

They chatted for a bit and listened to Lu Li’s progress, then decided to finish this business as soon as possible.

The three talismans weren’t entirely useless. At the very least, they protected Lu Li, Trebor and Loramus on their ascent to the top of the mountain.

This was the highest peak in the Blasted Lands. There were no living beings on it, and it barely had a route for climbing. Fortunately, the Demon Hunter could fly for a short distance, Trebor could float and Lu Li could actually fly, or else, they wouldn’t know how to get up here.

In the future versions, the System would add a rune at the bottom of the mountain which would teleport players straight up. This gave normal players access to the location.

“Place the talismans together, and I’ll inject demon energy into it. Razelikh will awake from the Twisting Nether, follow the summon and arrive here. At that time, make sure to follow all my instructions,” Loramus instructed, then specifically reminded Lu Li that the new dagger could only be used at his command.

Trebor was just a dead soul, so all he could do was watch.

As if he knew what Lu Li was worried about, Loramus gave Lu Li a shield.

That way, he was much more comfortable. Lu Li finally was interested in watching a demon get summoned.

The overall process was quite slow. The space and the demon probably didn’t enjoy it as both were constantly broken apart and remade. This lasted for about a dozen minute before Razelikh stood before Lu Li entirely.

“Who dares summon me!” Razelikh’s voice echoed loudly.

“Come face your death, Llacklikh. Today will be your apocalypse,” Loramus said resolutely as held tightly onto his dual blade. His eyes were filled with the desire to kill.

“How do you…”

A demon’s true name could not easily be discovered. If someone knew the demon’s real name, then they would have the absolute advantage in fighting them.

As such, when a demon chose an owner, they always gave their name to them. This was how a lot of demons swore their loyalty to Sargeras.

Of course, this was built on the two parties having similar power.

Loramus was a Demon Hunter with similar power to Razelikh, and once Razelikh began the battle, he knew that he was in trouble. His opponent knew his real name and it seemed like this had been planned out.

The two bosses fought in a hard battle, but overall, the one who had their name revealed was in definite trouble.

As such, he began to summon his underlings.

Being a Demon King, summoning helpers was one of the common tactics of Razelikh. Besides being strong, his underlings could also absorb mana, but it seemed like there was no mana around for them to absorb.

At the same time, Razelikh also knocked out people, so Lu Li carefully adjusted his position to avoid being hit directly.

Lu Li’s damage output was barely noticeable, so Razelikh never paid much attention to him.

The one that caused him trouble was really Loramus, who gave him a strange feeling. This Demon Hunter was an Elf, but he seemed so familiar…
