Chapter 1228: Setting Up a Special Welcome

Water Fairy had also followed along with them.

The girl said that she wanted to come along and Lu Li didn’t seem to oppose it. The others naturally didn’t say anything either and just went along with it.

The group went directly to a cliff positioned on the back of a mountain. The red soil seemed like it melted into this vast cave, and some faint snarls could be heard within.

Lu Li had previously come here to deal with the Servant of Rakh’likh. This was a quest from the Horde.

Then, he went to steal the Allistarj Talisman by travelling through the cave into the Mage Tower. The only other access to the Mage Tower was by flying skills or mounts.

Perhaps it was because of Allistarj’s confidence in his strength, but he didn’t set any magical traps in this cave.

As such, Lu Li and the others easily travelled through and dealt with the monsters that the saw. When all the monsters had been dealt with, they entered Snake Valley.

There were of course snakes in Snake Valley!

When Lu Li had come alone, he didn’t think much of it. However, when the girls in the party saw all the snakes that were coiled together, they suddenly went pale.

The snakes here were different from the snakes elsewhere, which would crawl on the ground individually.

Conversely, the snakes here appeared in groups. You wouldn’t be able to make out the individual snakes, but they came in groups of five and were squirming about in the grass. Not only were they disgusting, but they were quite territorial. You could easily accidentally aggro two to three groups, which was a total 15 monsters.

However, what made the girls even more anxious was the smell of the valley. The Game Company had really focused on emphasizing the strange smell of cold-blooded reptiles.

From this valley, it was very difficult to trick Allistarj. As long as he was in the Mage Tower, he would know when someone entered the valley because these snakes were his spies. Lu Li was previously able to sneak up on the tower because Allistarj wasn’t home at the time.

Lu Li gestured for Sesame Rice Ball to start channelling his Summoning Door so that the other players could be transported.

The players that arrived didn’t delay in starting to clear out these snakes. They also sought out a few Alchemists to make some antidotes. Ever since Sesame Rice Ball had taken on an apprentice, he rarely made these kinds of regular potions.

He only made potions that were rarer, and that no one else knew how to make.

Water Fairy also participated in the monster clearing. While the other girls were terrified, she was actually the calmest player in the area. The other Ruling Sword players looked on with admiration.

Some players thought that such a girl was unattainable by anyone.

Suddenly, the snakes of Snake Valley were sent into a frenzy. They were no longer curled up and concealed in the grass, but started launching themselves onto the players.

Lu Li looked up and saw a white robe swaying in the wind on a corner of the Mage Tower.

Allistarj was at home!

The Boss hadn’t left yet though, which was bad news. This snake frenzy had been caused by him, and the sheer number of them was beginning to overwhelm the players.

In fact, the Boss fight had already begun.

Lu Li certainly couldn’t use the talisman yet, and could only command the Main Tanks to keep pushing forwards with the accompaniment of the healers. Fortunately, they had transported the tanks and healers first.

With the Main Tanks in the front, the players could safely deal damage with the healers alongside them. The Main Tanks were capable of stopping these snakes while the magic professions among them piled on their spells. After all, the monsters were all densely packed which made them easy targets of area of effect skills.

More players were being pulled in at this critical moment of dealing with the snakes.

They had now finally found out that Lu Li’s intention was the fight a third Boss on that day. As this would be the third level 60 Wild Boss, the other guilds began to grow worried.

All of a sudden, when four to five hundred players found out about this secret location, it was no longer a secret.

The other guilds soon knew about Ruling Sword’s move and they finally panicked. No one wanted to leave Ruling Sword to do whatever they wanted, including Glory Capital.

For example, Blood Red War Flag would always hope that the worst would happen to Glory Capital.

However, they definitely wouldn’t want Ruling Sword to defeat Glory Capital so easily. If they did so, then why had all these other guilds been oppressed by Glory Capital for so long?

They weren’t worried about scarcity, but rather, inequality. Things that they couldn’t accomplish, they didn’t want Ruling Sword to accomplish either.

They didn’t think that Ruling Sword even worked that hard!

However, Lu Li had already expected this to happen. He had stopped the Fire Mages from participating in the clearing of these snakes. Instead, he placed them by the entrance of the cave. Anyone that came would experience a baptism by fire.

It was impossible for any Thief to sneak into the cave without being discovered either. After all, the fire magic would be continuously burning.

There were some other professions involved in the defence as well, but there were four main groups of PVP players. Given the terrain of this area, they would be able to keep out up to 100,000 players.

When Water Fairy saw Lu Li’s arrangement, she started to sympathize with the guilds that refused to give up.

More and more, she started to feel like Lu Li wasn’t as straightforward as he seemed. Not only was he ruthless, but he was also cunning. This third Boss fight was to acquire more equipment, but he had also set up a special welcome for any guild that tried to look for trouble.

The first to track Ruling Sword’s coordinates was a guild owned by the Gangnam Royals.

They were given the task of exploring the way, but in fact, they were just cannon fodder. The group walked about in the dark cave for about two minutes before finding light after a sharp turn.

They thought they had reached the end, but it was actually just flames that had come from above.

It wasn’t just one group either; there were a number of groups defending the area. One player walked out and died before they could even react. They soon realized that something was

wrong after this happened a few more times. If these players couldn’t even realize that, then they weren’t even qualified to be sent out as cannon fodder.

The two exploring groups soon pushed out together with the promise of being compensated with gold coins for their troubles and their equipment.

These two suicide squads finally saw what was on the other side of that corner.

After they were revived, they reluctantly reported that a dozen Fire Mages were all arranged in a line to cast area of effect fire magic.

In addition, there seemed to be two hunters that would alternate in releasing flares at the corner. It was no wonder that even the Thieves died so quickly.

The players were at a loss. Was there even a point in sending them to their deaths given the defences?
