Chapter 1791: Infernal Scroll

Glory Capital had three Strongholds to their name – the Barrenlands, Stranglethorn Vale and the Hillsbrad Foothills. There was also one more, but that was occupied by Gale Legion, which was in Desolace.

If it was Ruling Sword facing off against the alliance of nine clubs, Lu Li wouldn’t be able to defend these four Strongholds even if he overworked himself to death. After all, Ruling Sword only had a core of 110 people. They would not be able to spread out their strength to cover all four Strongholds.

Blood Red War Flag and Glory Capital had always clashed. They wanted to decide the ownership of the Hillsbrad Foothills Stronghold.

Azure Guard had stolen Stranglethorn Vale once upon a time, but it was taken from them yet again.

They were obviously not happy with this, so Jade Flower Lover wanted to ally with the others.

Peacetime Dynasty and Brotherhood were both lesser guilds that were oppressed by Glory Capital. They weren’t going to sit back and take this from Glory Capital, so they were constantly looking for opportunities to fight back. This wasn’t their first time. The first time that they fought back, they only suffered heavier oppression from Glory Capital. Upon seeing that there was another chance, they instantly wanted to join.

Wings of Dawn, Seventh Heaven and Purple Lunar Paradise were all attracted to the alliance by personal benefits. This was especially true for Wings of Dawn and Seventh Heaven. They already controlled a Stronghold, but greed made them want more.

Seventh Heaven and Blood Red War Flag was often at each other’s necks, but strangely enough, they still managed to work together often as well. During last week’s Stronghold battles, they even exchanged the Strongholds that they owned.

Everyone was surprised that Grand Hegemony was among these clubs.

According to how everyone interpreted it, this nine-club alliance, no matter when compared to Ruling Sword or Glory Capital, was stronger than both of them.

According to Unforgettable Maple, the nine-club alliance had already sorted out their plans.

Their objective was to take down three of Glory Capital’s four Strongholds. Blood Red War Flag would take the second Stronghold at the Hillsbrad Foothills, Seventh Heaven and Purple Lunar Paradise would take Desolace, and Azure Guard would team up with Grand Hegemony to take Stranglethorn Valley. The other clubs that didn’t gain a Stronghold would be compensated in gold by the new owners.

As for Unforgettable Maple and Majin Temple, they weren’t too concerned about the outcome of the battles. After all, they were going to receive a large amount of compensation from Blood Red War Flag whether it was a success or failure.

As for what Sorrowless was thinking, Lu Li had no idea. Well, no one cared anyway.

Lu Li and Wandering were laughing and smiling as they were fighting. The club on the offensive at Grey Valley was Stellar Union. They had previously worked together with Ruling Sword, but their relationship did not affect the intensity at which they attacked the Stronghold.

However, against the impregnable defence of Ruling Sword, Stellar Union’s fierce attack was rendered useless and they lost miserably.

Azure Guard was attacking the Black Sea Coast.

Lu Li saw them as little children who just liked to pick a fight. They didn’t give up easily, but they were not a threat at all.

Anyone else would have been a better match up for them. Unfortunately, they just had to face Ruling Sword.

Azure Guard couldn’t do much about it. It already took a lot of their resources to mount an attack. They would have hope against a smaller and weaker club, but the outcome here was already pre-empted.

Their financial backing, the Shen Company, forced them to attack Ruling Sword, so there was

nothing they could do.

Director Shen’s son had recently been born, and was Water Fairy’s stepbrother. The child was still young, so they didn’t know what he was going to look like. Director Shen didn’t plan to discard his daughter and support his son instead. After all, he still recognised Water Fairy as the most suitable person to inherit the Shen Company.

He didn’t care that Water Fairy did what she did. In the very beginning, he always believed that Water Fairy would return home eventually.

However, he wasn’t so sure of it now. This was because the poor kid that he didn’t really care for was now getting closer and closer to his beloved daughter.

This was why he wanted Azure Guard to unleash everything they had on Ruling Sword and be completely ruthless.

It was ruthless indeed. Azure Guard was being completely beaten down and were being chased the entire battle. In the end, they couldn’t even breach the wall. Lu Li did not give the slightest bit of face to his future father-in-law. He believed that Water Fairy would be supportive of his decision to teach these people a lesson.

After exiting the Stronghold, Lu Li was immediately dumbfounded at what he saw.

His Stronghold was fine. Water Fairy had also successfully taken down the second Stronghold in Westfall. The thing that left him dumbfounded was the result between Blood Red War Flag and Glory Capital.

He finally understood what had happened after the Dawn’s official site released the footage of the battle.

The nine-club alliance, led by Blood Red War Flag, had hoped to take at least three Strongholds from Glory Capital’s four, but they failed to take even one. To make matters worse, Blood Red War Flag had lost their own Stronghold at the Hillsbrad Foothills. Now, the entire Hillsbrad Foothills was owned by Glory Capital.

It wasn’t that the nine-club alliance wasn’t trying hard enough. They were all trying their best.

Even Unforgettable Maple, with his casual mindset, was fighting with all his strength. He died multiple times in battle alongside his team.

This result would be unacceptable to anyone. However, upon watching the replay of the battle, Lu Li understood why. He was utterly shocked at the appearance of so many Infernal Scrolls.

As someone who was reborn, Lu Li obviously knew about the Infernal Scrolls. However, he never

thought that this item that was quite rare at level 70 would appear at such a high quantity, and with all of them being in Glory Capital’s possession.

“I have some news. They’re from the shipwrecks. As for which one, we don’t know yet. Glory Capital has their mouth sealed tightly,” Wandering reported.

“Shipwrecks…”

He still had no idea; this wasn’t something he had prior knowledge of.

There were pros and cons to Shipwrecks. Most of them were possessed by clubs, and Ruling Sword had two of them. One of them produced more equipment and enhancing stones, while the other produced more special elixirs and potions. The cooldown periods were regular, so all they needed to do was to arrange for people to patrol the area at certain times.

There were also cases where new Shipwrecks were found. However, the people who found them weren’t able to take them, so they would sell the information to the clubs.

As for the undiscovered ones, they would remain a complete secret. Their locations were unknown and the products were also unknown.

Infernals were likely to be categorised as corrupted, so what type of Shipwrecks would produce these scrolls? Furthermore, the quantity was unbelievable. Lu Li could not think of anything.

“We should count our lucky stars,” Wandering said. “These things were meant to be used against us. Fortunately, Blood Red War Flag offered themselves as tribute. Otherwise, we would have suffered great losses.”

“That’s right. We’re incredibly grateful towards them.”
