Chapter 202: Joining a war (3)
“Prepare for impact! Knights are charging from the left!”
“Put up the shields!”
Spearmen on the left side turned immediately, slamming their shields down into the ground. The protruding part of the bottom of the shield was firmly stuck to the ground as the soldiers readied their spears.
“PREPARE FOR IMPACT!”
The loud clashing sound of knights running into the shields was heard. The fifteen hundred pound armored horses rammed into the shields. Men screamed in agony if they were not dead. Hundreds of knights colliding crushed the defense line, but the second defense line held up. They couldn’t advance any further.
“UGH! R-RUN!”
“NO!”
Knights were caught between the inner defensive lines and soldiers from outer boundaries. They were now being attacked by spears from all sides.
“How can it be!”
Viscount Norman shouted from the distance as he watched the knights being crushed helplessly. Then, at that moment, blood began pouring out from his forehead and he fell onto the ground. All officers who were wearing similar disguises met the same fate and the horn of retreat sounded soon after.
“WE ARE VICTORIOUS! FOR KHALODIAN!”
Shouts of victory were heard throughout the field. There were casualties, but it was still an outstanding result of claiming victory against the enemies that outnumbered them with a few hundred deaths.
“Tend to the wounded! Move the bodies of our men!”
Officers began ordering to clean out the battlefield. Soldiers began carrying out their fallen fellow soldiers. All families of the dead soldiers were rewarded handsomely and everyone who participated in battle was granted Khalodian citizenship.

“Pasta! Seafood pasta is here!”
“I have fresh shrimp!””
“Duran skewers! Duran skewers! Come here!”
Merchants shouted on the streets of the city as numerous people walked by.
“This is amazing.”
“I would not have believed this if I didn’t see it for myself!”
“It’s good that we’re here. We are not even close to central Khalodian!”
Many young nobles were astounded as they watched the town of Viscount Barthol Hesson. It was neighboring land of Khalodian that served as a trading hub for one-third of the food exported from Khalodian.
“How much are they trading here? I don’t think the empire’s seaport can match this place!”
“INCOMING! A ship from Mijori has arrived!”
People began shouting as they noticed a ship with a red flag coming to the docks.
“Tei Kingdom’s ship has arrived!”
Another ship came in and people became busy. Countless carts were moved out to unload the goods from the ships. It was soon replaced with corn and flour.
“The ships are coming in endlessly!”
“It’s coming in again!”
The nobles were astounded. It was a sight they had never seen in their lives. After a day of rest in the village, they rode out on a carriage to Khalodian. Like these nobles, a lot of people coming to Khalodian from all parts of the world.
“Sir. Baron Jenobi and thirty-two young nobles that came from various parts of the country are requesting to meet with you. There are three barons, twelve baronets, and the rest are knights.”
‘Jenobi? The Baron Jenobi? This is crazy!’
Jackson brightened up as he heard the report from Todd. People were now flowing into their land.
‘War is bringing us all the goods!’
War was the worst thing to have, but it was the war that brought him all these people.
“Todd, give them a room to rest in and show them around the city. Set up a meeting with Baron Jenobi and the other nobles afterward.”
“Yes, sir. Should we do the usual?”
“Yeah. Show them around.”
“Yes, sir!” Todd answered and walked out of the room. Jackson stood up from the seat and approached the window.
“The day’s almost over…”
He took out a cigarette and lit it up.
‘Everything’s going well.’
There were some countries trying to pick on the weakened Toria, but they backed out. The land had no merits unless they could take Khalodian land. There was nothing to be gained.
“What’s there to be so happy about?”
“Oh, you’re here.”
“What’s going on?”
“No, it’s nothing, sir.”
Jackson shook his head as Joonbum walked into the room.
“I heard we’re doing well now?”
Jackson nodded.
“Yes, sir. There are a lot of low-ranking nobles seeking citizenship coming into our land.”
“Good. Then we should not be lacking in people.”
“That is correct, sir.”
“I see. Oh, and I’ve solved the oil issue. We should be able to use heavy machinery with no issues now.”
“OH! That’s good to hear.”
“Yeah, but frequent use will damage the machines quickly. There will be a day where we will have to stop using it.”
“Don’t you think the Magnos will be able to make it?” Jackson asked. The machines had the power of a hundred farmers just by itself. It was a huge hit if it was not going to be used.
“No, that won’t be possible.”
“I see. Then I will take the necessary steps for the future. Oh, and Duke Barisman has divided his own kingdom, sir. It’s the Barisman Kingdom.”
“So he did it, then,” Joonbum commented as he thought of Duke Barisman. “Will he seek revenge for his sons?”
“Yes. He will not forget until he dies,” Jackson sighed as he answered.
“Then he will come again soon. It’s not going to be any problem though… wait. Should I just go and kill him?” Joonbum mumbled to himself, in which Jackson sighed at the thought of it.
