“How long will you keep hopping? Fight me like a real man.” It taunted me; I did not reply to its taunt and kept avoiding the attacks.
It had been three minutes since the battle had begun, and since then, I have avoided its attacks. I did not take any big risks, and it also has its mobility restricted due to the injuries. So, it is refraining from moves that require too much footwork.
It is intelligent enough to recognize its strength and weaknesses and act according to them.
I could not continue like this for long; I would get tired soon with all the moving under this blazing sun, while despite being injured, it could continue longer with its current speed and strength; some more of it was hiding to reveal it at the right moment.
Another minute passed, and I decided to launch the offensive. I have already studied it, and I know it is hiding some of its powers, but I am confident that I will be able to deal with it, not to mention I am not alone; there is Rachel, who I am sure will help me at the right time.
She is already helping without doing anything, forcing it to divide its focus between two, which is already a huge help.
Bang!
A few seconds passed, and I got the opportunity I had been waiting for. I did not waste any time taking it despite it being very risky.
Step!
As the huge staff of the Apeman came down against the sand, I changed my way and jumped on it. I had done it in such a way that despite reading my movements, it was not be read my movements quickly enough, which gave me a chance to safely land on the stump of its staff and begin running up.
“The fly had walked into the trap!” It said ecstatically, and the surprise on its face turned into a grinning smile, and I saw it releasing the hands on its staff and moving them toward me to catch me, with a speed that was much faster than before.
It would be my end if it caught in those giant hands; it would be easily able to kill me through numerous methods, from squishing me to tearing me into two, all of which are painful ways to die, but they did not stop me as I race across the falling staff.
It may have its plans, but I have mine as well, and we will see who succeeds.
The hands of Apeman had reached closed enough when I jumped up from the falling staff; it had taken me high as it could, and now staying on it will only make me fall with it.
“You are mine,” It said with an even bigger smile as it moved its hand, there is now barely two, and a half meter distance between its hands and me, and those looking would surely feel I would be captured in its hands, but, I would not.
Sup!
Its hands moved closer and closer toward me when suddenly a great alarm flashed into its eyes as it looked behind me.
A look of indecision flashed in its before it moved its right hand up and left hand toward me, seeing that a smile couldn’t help but appear on my face.
I was prepared against the two hands, but it would still be risky, but one hand would be much easier to deal with. I have to thank Rachel for that, who is still very good at attacking at the perfect time; she made this dangerous attack a little easier for me.
As I approached, its hand came at me; I saw the ax streaking through the air, with its target being the right eye of the Apeman. To defend against it, the Apeman had moved its hand in front of its eye, which is quite a bummer, but still, I am happy.
Puch!
The ax pierced into the hand of Apeman, and at the same time, I spun in the air, changing my position from getting captured in the middle of its hand and getting slightly above it.
Step!
It tried to motion capture, but to its surprise, I placed my foot on its hand and took another jump, which strained some of the muscles hard, and I even heard faint cracking, but it did not matter as I jumped from it, and it tried to move its hand toward me when it suddenly stopped.
Puch!
I heard another puch sound, and it was from an ax which came out of its hand and pierced into its eyes; it had caught me by complete surprise.
I thought, like arrows that had been buried into knees, but no, not only ax came out, but also pierced through the eyes of the Grimms.
“Ahhhhhh…”
It screamed loudly, and I bore it as I gripped my halberd tightly for the attack that I was about to do.
Slash!
Soon, I reached its neck and slashed across it, and like before, there was no resistance; it tore through its skin, and when it reached the vein, it cut through it, releasing a fountain of blood, the majority of which I am able to avoid, but some of which have struck me.
The Grimm screamed louder as I came to the other side and began to fall down after taking a step on its shoulder.
I would have very much liked to use its hands as a stand to jump down, but now, I will have to handle the jump on my own.
Seven meters is quite a distance, and I would have feared the landing if it had been a solid surface, but thankfully, it is sand. If I do it correctly, I will not suffer any damage.
Thud!
I landed on the ground with a thud before rolling to distribute the force, but still, I did not feel any of my bones breaking; some of them did, but the damage was still bearable. I will drink the healing potion to heal them, but not now, as I have a Grimm to face.
“You bloody, human, I will kill you!” shouted the Apeman in a fury and hacked its staff toward me, which I easier avoided.
“Really, with only one hand?” I asked as I had avoided its attack. It is attacking me with a single hand, while its other hand is holding its neck through which blood is dripping down.
I had chosen the vein on the neck for a reason; it is the most important blood vein I could hit that deals the greatest damage, and with the current method, it will not be able to stop the bleeding, and I am sure as hell would not let it stop it through anyway.
“I will kill you!” It shouted and attacked, and while there was rage, it was still cautious. Though, this cautiousness is not going to help it; with that injury in its eyes and neck, it had already lost the battle. It is just not understanding it, which is fine too, because I will make it understand it soon enough.
I avoided its one-handed attack and ran toward it, seeing that an alarm couldn’t help but flash its eyes, and it attacked me with its staff sweeping, which I simply avoided by ducking down and resumed running right after it.
The huge body has an advantage, but tiny ones have their own advantages; I will show them that.
