“Master Brock,”
Greeted two people as I came down on the first floor. They are the ones I hired yesterday after the interview.
One is a woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She belongs to the Onhr race. She has light purple skin and a pair of black curved horns, and also a tail.
Though her eyes are the most defining quality of hers. They are green and they shine in the dark.
The man beside her was a stone skin man who looked to be in her early forties. He had beautiful malachite stone skin.
Usually, healing is not suitable for stone-skin people, but there is an exception. Like the man in front of me, who is born, with a healing type constitution, which turned the element that forbids healing, to strengthen it.
Both of them are peak Primary-III.
I only planned to hire one assistant but ended up hiring two.
The woman, because of her answers, had the out-of-the-box thinking, I have been searching for she is not knowledgeable as more than half of the people who have interviewed, but have the quality to become a great healer.
While the man had answered the question in the greatest detail.
Even the Sovereigns who had come didn’t answer in great detail as he did.
He had great knowledge about healing, even though he couldn’t think about the box.
“Loren, Jex. Welcome to Brock Clinic. I hope you both will adhere to the rules in the contract and wouldn’t give me a reason to complain,” I said to them.
“We will not disappoint you. Master Brock,” they replied in unison.
“Good, get familiar with all the artifacts and equipment. I would come down if any patient came,” I said and walked toward my office.
I could see the disappointment in their eyes; they were likely hoping to spend more time with me and soak up the knowledge they could.
If I had time, I would have done that, but unfortunately, I didn’t.
Though I am making that up with a high salary and if any patient came. I will allow them to learn as much as they can.
We will open in two hours; At that time, I had planned to finish the lesson and some of my studies.
I entered my office and closed the door behind me before sitting on a chair and closing my eyes. A moment later, I am at the door of the library, going through what I had learned yesterday.
Two hours passed, and the lesson was finished, and now, I am looking at the homework, which will be a real challenge.
We have started on the new subject today, and it is challenging. From today, it won’t be a cakewalk, as it had been in the past three months, and I am not disappointed.
Instead, I am excited.
We are moving to harder things that make any rune-master sweat. I have yearned for such challenges on the runes and now I am getting them.
Hun!
The doors of the clinic opened at exactly ten, and there were already six people waiting there. I couldn’t be surprised; I didn’t think I would see the patients. The moment we opened the door.
Though, I shouldn’t have been. Grade 4 healers are not common, and I am one who is at Peak Sovereign.
It is a Brown Bear Beastman; it is big like they are and at Peak Primary-III.
‘Bring him in,’ I said, the moment Loren’s soul sense touched mine.
Click!
A few seconds later, the door opened, and Loren and Jex brought the patient inside.
“Mr. Har, take a seat,” I said to the man. “Thank you, healer, Brock,” he said politely.
He has to be polite. There is a difference in the stage between us. I could crush him without much effort if I want to.
“What can I do for you, Mr. Har,” I said to him.
“I am planning on making a breakthrough in Sovereign in a couple of weeks and I want your view of it,” he replied.
“What did other healers you consulted have said?” I asked with a smile.
A surprise couldn’t help but appear on his face at my question. Most healers wouldn’t ask these questions before they perform all tests.
“They said I am ready with a 75% chance of success,” he replied after a moment of silence.
“They are great chances,” I said.
Most healers wouldn’t give chances better than this. The result of the Sovereign breakthrough couldn’t be predicted completely. There is always a chance of a breakthrough.
“Let’s hope they are right,” I said as I got up and motioned him to lie on the med-bed.
Buzz!
He laid down, and I activated the formation and it begin to scan him.
I made some changes in the med-bed. Replaced a few parts, so that meta-scan they will be providing would be much more detailed than it used to be.
More than a minute passed and a meta-scan of him appeared above him.
I had got it in ten seconds, but I kept it going. I have looked at it and the result is not that good.
“The health of your core is good; I am not seeing any problem there,” I said, and a relieved smile appeared on his face.
I magnified the projection and began to check the other parts, talking softly. So, the patient and my two assistants could hear me.
Fifteen minutes passed when I stopped in one place.
“There seemed to be a problem here,” I said, and the man became alarmed, while I turned to the two assistances.
“Can you guess what the problem is?” I asked them as I magnified and showed them thirteen magical veins, which were entangled.
At a common glance, one couldn’t see any problem, but there is.
“My apologies, Master Broke. I couldn’t see any problem,” said Jex, after a minute of looking. I looked at Loren, who also shook her head in disappointment.
As I had said, it is not an easy problem to spot.
“Mr. Har. Have you been hit by a near-fatal ice attack, about four to four and a half years ago?” I asked the man, who had a surprise appearance on his face.
“Yes, it had nearly killed me. I had to spend more than a week dealing with it,” he replied.
“You have dealt the ice elemental energy perfectly, but is a corrosiveness mixed in it, which had sneakily left behind,”

“It is not serious, is it?” he asked, to which I shook my head. “Generally, no, but you are trying to make a breakthrough. Then it is.”
“It will fail you, without a doubt,” I said, and the man shuddered.
“Can it be fixed?” he asked.
“Of course, and the treatment is cheap. I will write it down, along with the problem you have, you can consult with other healers, before using it,” I said with a smile.
Eight minutes later, the man walked out of my office with a diagnostic crystal and the next patient entered inside.
