Chapter 971: Parting Waves With One Sword

On the West Coast of America.

There was a sunny beach.

People were sunbathing and enjoying the serene beach lifestyle.

After a series of natural disasters, peace had returned to Earth.

Many experts were already busting myths by explaining that this was all due to some rare tectonic plate movements and urging everyone not to believe in the farcical doomsday theories that were being thrown around.

As could be seen, people took this advice to heart as the beaches were already packed not long after a tsunami had just taken place.

A little boy was building a sandcastle on the beach with a particularly focused expression.

All of a sudden, the sandcastle began to tremor lightly before slowly splitting open.

“Hmm? What happened?” The little boy stared at the sandcastle with a puzzled expression.

“Mommy, mommy, my sandcastle split open.” The little boy ran over to a woman who had taken off her clothes and was lying chest down on the beach.

“Don’t come bother me, Garen. If your sandcastle split open, then just use sand to fill up the crack,” the woman replied lazily.

The ground then suddenly tremored lightly.

“Mommy… The sandcastle collapsed…”

Garen pouted; he was on the verge of tears.

The woman couldn’t even be bothered to respond to him this time.

He was just a kid. He would cry for a maximum of two seconds before finding something else that grabbed his interest.

“Mommy, mommy… What a massive wave!”

Sure enough, Garen had found something else to be amazed about and was patting the woman’s back again.

She was getting a little disgruntled now. “Garen, stop bothering me about every little thing!”

“But.. but… this wave really is huge. It’s as tall as a house…” Garen was a little upset again as he patted his sunbathing mother.

The woman faltered upon hearing this.

Only now did she hear the screams erupting on the beach.

She stood up and looked behind her to find many half-naked women running on the beach with the white balls on their chests bouncing up and down, but that wasn’t the point.

She looked at the ocean and went slightly weak at the knees.

The sun gradually dimmed. It wasn’t because the clouds had obscured it, but instead, it was because the wave had obscured the sun.

That’s right, this was a massive tsunami that spread along the entire shoreline and was over a hundred meters tall. It was like a ferocious ancient beast crashing toward the shore with a huge amount of seawater in its wake.

“Mommy… This wave is a little tall. We should run!” Garen was panicking a little.

The woman’s lips twitched, and she couldn’t utter a single word.

Run?

Such a terrifying tsunami was going to instantly engulf this entire beach and even the entire city soon, where could they run to?

Most of the people here were fleeing the scene more so due to self-preservation instincts than any concrete belief that they could ever hope to outrun this gargantuan tsunami. There were also people staring blankly at this doomsday-like scene, some of them were simply immobilized from fear, while others were trying to remember this final scene before their death.

The woman sobbed as she held on tightly to her son. “Garen, I love you.”

In these final moments, all she wanted to do was to hug her own child.

“Mommy.” Garen instinctively patted the woman’s back.

He hadn’t realized that he was about to die, and he looked around at all of the fleeing tourists, wondering why his mother wasn’t following in their example.

“Huh? Mommy, look at that strange man! He’s walking toward the wave!” Garen pointed in a certain direction as he exclaimed.

The woman was also a little curious upon hearing this, and she turned to the direction Garen was pointing to.

“Is that… a Hua Nation man?”

She was greeted by the sight of a half-naked man in blue board shorts making his way toward the tsunami.

As for why the woman identified him as a man from the Hua Nation, it was because such a handsome face could only belong to a man from the Hua Nation!

There was a woman beside the man with a flawless figure and a head of flowing golden hair. Her features were obscured, but one could tell from her exquisite figure that she would be quite beautiful.

The two of them were slowly walking toward the tsunami, as opposed to all of the people running away, thereby attracting a lot of attention.

The woman and Garen were also both staring blankly at the man.

They saw a light flash, upon which a black longsword appeared in the man’s hand.

“What is he trying to do?” The woman’s eyes widened.

The tsunami completely obscured the sky above as it came cascading down with an unstoppable force.

The despair of impending death gripped everyone’s heart.

A massive boom erupted as the earth tremored, exemplifying just how terrifying the tsunami was.

At this moment, the man with the black longsword in his hand lashed out at the impossibly huge tsunami wave.

At that moment, heaven and earth abruptly fell silent as white wind streaked through the air over a distance of several kilometers before transforming into a white line of light that flew toward the surging tsunami wave!

Everyone averted their eyes at the blinding white light that erupted.

Immediately afterward, the gigantic wave was flattened, and it was sent flowing in reverse by that white line.

The white line continued onward like a bulldozer, forcing the all-engulfing tsunami wave back in an extremely brutal manner before flying all the way into infinity and beyond!

The rumbling and tremoring of the earth suddenly disappeared. Countless people who were screaming as they ran away suddenly felt like there was something amiss, and they turned around to look behind them before their jaws dropped open in befuddlement.

Countless droplets of water fell from the sky, glittering under the sun like a myriad of crystals.

Splash…

The water droplets fell like rain. This was all that remained of the massive tsunami wave.

As for the rest of the towering tsunami, it had already disappeared.

“My God! Am I dreaming?”

“What just happened?!”

“The tsunami disappeared? I seem to have heard an extremely crisp ringing, followed by the sound of howling wind and a resounding boom…”

“It was God! God has bestowed upon us a miracle to save us all!”

Many people wept tears of joy. Some had even fallen to their knees to pay respect and gratitude to the god that existed only in their imaginations.

A small portion of people had noticed that mysterious man with the sword, and they began yelling.

“It was him! He used his sword to slice apart the tsunami! He saved us!”

“He is our god! We should go thank him!”

However, when everyone turned toward the location where the mysterious man had been standing, he had already disappeared.

Slicing apart a tsunami?

That sounded like something that belonged only in fictional stories!

All of the people who hadn’t witnessed what had happened scoffed at the idea. They figured that the others were probably too excited to have escaped certain death and developed hallucinations as a result.

Either that or they were making up a lie to explain why the tsunami had suddenly disappeared.

A pair of mother and son stood on the beach as they stared blankly into a certain direction.

They had witnessed the entire process where the man had forced the tsunami back. They had even witnessed him traveling into the distance atop the tumbling waves. Only a god could be capable of something like this!

“So there really is a god in this world…

“No, in the words of the Hua Nation’s people, that was an immortal.”

The woman muttered to herself as she stared into the ocean, seemingly in a daze.

“Mommy, look! There’s a rainbow in the sky!” Garen pointed at the sky with a joyful smile.

The woman raised her head.

As a watery mist permeated through the air, a vibrant rainbow had gradually formed under the sunlight, appearing especially dazzling and beautiful in the wake of the ordeal they had suffered.
