When everyone left the dining room, Fu Juan went to Grandfather Fu's study.

Glancing at her, grandfather Fu asked her to wait as he received some files from Butler Lu.

"What do you want to see me for?" He asked as his attention was on the files in his hands.

"I wanted to see you about Jia Li. When you refused me to adopt her a year ago, I didn't know this was the idea you had although you told me you had plans for her. Father, don't you think you made the wrong decision?" Fu Juan asked.

Grandfather Fu replied without glancing at her. "I didn't make any mistake. I think deeply before making any big decision, so all of you that are worrying about me pairing wrongly, shouldn't think too much about it. Things may seem bleak now, but I know the future is bright."

Fu Juan had no words to refute him with. Since the Old man thinks he's right, then he's right. But surprisingly the Old man is always right since he always thinks deeply before making any decision.

But Fu Juan thought this was a matter of two lives, two Destiny's and setting them up like that was a gamble. But she hopes he will be right like he has always been.

"Your husband didn't come with you yesterday, where is he?" Grandfather Fu asked as he took out the papers from the big envelope and placed them on the table.

"He is always traveling. We don't have a child, so there's no need for him to come back often." Fu Juan replied as she tried to mask the sadness in her heart but Grandfather Fu was still able to see them in her eyes.

"He has you to return to. The two of you should make plans to adopt a child and there is nothing wrong with that." Grandfather Fu advised.

"I don't think that's a good idea. He is so busy and I sometimes get busy as well. Who will look after the child?" Fu Juan asked.

"Stop giving silly excuses. You're still hoping on having your child, which is not a bad thing, but you should think about your age and know it is 99.9% impossible." Grandfather Fu said as he slowly looked up to glance at her.

Fu Juan sighed without saying anything because she knew he was right.

Grandfather Fu sighed as he fully concentrated on talking to her now.

"I loved your mother and before I married her, I already made plans that if we didn't have children, we can always adopt one or two. But if she liked me then there wouldn't be a need to adopt any child. In your case, the person that needs the child the most should adopt. Adoption is not wrong, but you should be able to take care of the child and be responsible for him."

Fu Juan shut her eyes and then opened them the next moment. "I will talk to my husband once he comes back from this trip."

"When are you going back?" Grandfather Fu asked.

"Today. I still have some pending works left to do" Fu Juan replied.

After chatting with Grandfather Fu for a while, Fu Juan left.

"This daughter of mine is really pitiable. I wonder what she would do if she finds out her husband betrayed her." Grandfather Fu said with a sigh.

"Hmmm... Master you mean..." Butler Lu said as he trailed off. He was still in shock with what the Old man said.

"Her husband cheated on her and I won't be surprised if he already has children with another woman. So, Juan has to adopt a child that will keep her company." Grandfather Fu said.

Butler Lu looked shocked to learn of this revelation.

"Master, if your son-in-law cheated on your daughter, shouldn't you punish him and get justice for her?" Butler Lu asked, not quite understanding the old man's thoughts.

"I will only interfere with their matter if she finds out and come crying to me. For now, I can't be the one to let her know about it. And I can't fully support her because she has an idea that her husband is not faithful." Grandfather Fu disclosed.

"Master, then you really need to make investigations to confirm if he has children with another woman." Butler Lu suggested.

"I will not do that. I asked Fu Juan to marry the person I chose for her but she refused and her mother made me allow her to go with her choice, now look at it. And because I promised my wife, I allowed my children to pick their partners. But when it came to Hua, I insisted I would be the one to select his marriage partner since I brought him up and you know, I can't watch him make a terrible mistake. His parents had agreed at that time. If Fu Juan had listened to me, she wouldn't have to suffer all of these."

"But master, if General and his wife accepted that you will select master Fu Hua's partner, why did the Mistress go-ahead to arrange a marriage with the Bai family without consulting anyone?" Butler Lu asked.

He thought he already knew so much about the Fu family, but it turned out there were some important matters he had no idea about.

"You can say she lost her mind for a while." Grandfather Fu replied before finally fixing his gaze on the papers before him.

"But Master, what about your daughter, won't you assist her?" Butler Lu inquired.

"Lu, take note that you can't help everybody even when you have the power. More especially, you can't help the people that are afraid of the truth." Grandfather Fu before finally immersing his concentration on the papers.

Butler Lu just learned something from the old man. 'He just guessed that Fu Juan might have an idea of her husband's unfaithfulness but she didn't want to confirm it because she was afraid of knowing the truth, so she is still acting ignorantly about the matter.'
