Fu Hua spends the next day preparing and finalizing the surprise vacation for Jia Li. He had once said he would reward her to go on a vacation with her friends and today, he was fulfilling it.

To make sure the vacation worked, he contacted her friends and told them about it, and also helped them to take a few days off from work in other to make it for the vacation he planned.

Of course, Jia Li's three friends were more than happy to go on a vacation with her, especially after learning that her mood was down. The three would do anything to cheer their friend up.

Fu Hua wanted Jia Li to quickly take her mind off the stress and troubles of the past week, hence, the reason for his plan.

Fu Hua only told Jia Li she was going on a vacation with her friends after every arrangement for it was ready.

Fu Ling returned to work today. After the successful recruitment of a new investor, he felt at ease and granted himself a day off after returning from Jia Li's hometown with the rest of the family.

What greeted him as soon as he walked into this office, was his personal assistant, waiting for him with a white envelope in her hand.

He only glanced at her briefly before going to sit on his seat before asking, "Any problem?"

Xiulan glanced at the envelope in her hand before handing it over to Fu Ling who took it but refused to open it. It was more like he was waiting for her to talk, and knowing that, Xiulan was forced to speak.

"Sir, that is my resignation letter."

Immediately she said that Fu Ling's gaze deepened he went on to take out the letter in the envelope. "Your resignation letter?" He asked.

"Yes. I don't want to work for here anymore." Xiulan said.

"And what's your reason?" Fu Ling asked as he opened the letter and began to read its content.

That was a big question for Xiulan. She knew the reason she wanted to quit, and she also penned it down in the letter he was currently reading, but know, he wanted her to say it with her mouth?

Xiulan took a deep breath before replying, "I am quitting because I am no longer able to separate my private life from my professional life, which is against our company's work ethics."

Fu Ling who had just seen the same statement she made on the letter, put it on his desk, and looked up at her. He didn't seem to take her seriously in any way.

"And if I may ask, what kind of private life do you have that is making you mix it up with your work here?" He asked curiously.

Looking him in the eye, she said without fear, because she believed that he wouldn't hesitate to sack her once he hears what she is about to say next.

"I was unclear of the kind of feelings I had for my Boss when I first started to work for him, but when he asked me to be his fake girlfriend, I realized my true feelings for him, and since then, I have been struggling within myself to hide them. But some days ago, I think I got busted. Now, I do not have the ability to keep working for him."

"If I may ask, what kind of feelings do you have for him?" Fu Ling asked. The way he was asking these questions was surprising to Xiulan, and she didn't know what he was playing at.

She has already given him pointers to make him know that she was talking about him, still, he was asking that kind of question.

Xiulan felt like a joke in front of him because he looked like he didn't care about her feelings for him. Nevertheless, she still went on to reply to all his questions.

"I like my Boss."

"It's normal to like me, if you don't, you won't put in the kind of effort you are putting in, just like the others. When you like someone, you do your best to please him or her, and everyone here has been doing it." Fu Ling said.

At this point, Xiulan didn't know if he was playing dumb, or serious with his words.

"Sir, I have romantic feelings for you, and I don't think I can work for you anymore. Please sign the resignation letter." Xiulan said with a straight face while forcing the tears threatening to break free, back into her eyes.

Fu Ling was quiet for a few moments before picking up the letter on his desk and putting it back into the envelope. Next, he handed it to her.

"Sir..." Xiulan said, a little startled.

"Take your letter back, don't leave my hand hanging, I'm still your boss, remember?" Fu Ling said without a smile.

Xiulan wondered what was wrong with him as she took the envelope from him.

Fu Ling fixed his gaze on her and started saying, "I will sign your resignation letter, but not now. I will get a new replacement for your position, and you will have 2 weeks to pass all your knowledge to that person before I will sign on those papers."

Xiulan never expected that kind of response from him. She thought he would either sign her resignation letter immediately, or punish her according to the company rules for having feelings for him, and even confessing to him, but he did neither of it.

His decision made her know that she didn't know him very well. Well, she took her letter and left his office immediately.

This was not Fu Ling's initial plan. He had wanted to ask her to take a week off from work to clear her feelings, but for some reasons best known to him alone, he changed his mind.

After she left his office, Fu Ling made a call in search of someone that would replace Xiulan's position in 2 weeks. This time around, Fu Ling was more specific about the gender he wanted to work under him.

He wanted a male to be his personal assistant, to avoid another situation, whereby another female would fall for him and may do crazy things just to get him.
