Chapter 116: Start of the Invasion
Yuna scanned the arena and noticed that all the civilians and quite a lot of genin fell asleep due to the genjutsu. Next, she looked towards the Hokage stands, which caused her eyebrow to twitch in irritation.
‘Seriously? Orochimaru disguised himself as the Kazekage? The old man was sitting right next to him the whole time. How did he not notice that? I thought for sure that Orochimaru wanted to fish in muddied waters and abduct Sasuke, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Does he want to destroy Konoha? Isn’t he being a little too delusional?’
Moments later, Naruto and Hinata landed next to Yuna, while simultaneously, Gaara’s cocoon started to crack. Although Yuna wasn’t certain whether Gaara would run amok or not, she had certainly prepared for the possibility.
“UZUMAKI CLAN!!! PREPARE THE SEALS!!!”
Eight seals that were placed around the bottom of the spectator stands were activated by one member of the Uzumaki clan each. A blue dome of chakra was created over the arena. Although it wasn’t visible from the outside, this actually enlarged the inside of the barrier quite a bit. Shukaku was, after all, already bigger than the stadium when he was at his full size. Next, the four-man teams that were coincidently, and certainly not due to bribery, seated near those seals, activated their own seals and enclosed themself and the person controlling the first seal in a much smaller blue globe, so they wouldn’t be interrupted.
Yuna saw the perfect execution of the plan and nodded in approval.
‘Containing the rampaging Ichibi should earn the Uzumaki clan quite a bit of goodwill. This should make the reestablishment process much smoother.’
“Hinata, grab some strong people from the Uzumaki clan and help defend Konoha. There is no way the invaders are only in this stadium. You should be able to find them rather quickly with your Byakugan.”
“YES! Good luck, Yuna, Naruto.”
Hinata gave Yuna a quick kiss and then made her way towards the spectator stands to gather a few Uzumaki clan members. Although Hinata was a little embarrassed that they were already treating her as Yuna’s wife, she was also a little happy about that.
“Naruto, I want you t…”
Before Yuna could finish her sentence, her head snapped towards the top of the arena. Yuna widened her eyes in surprise due to what she saw there.
‘No way is th…’
[IT’S THAT HASHIRAMA BASTARD!!! Let’s get up there! Let’s grind that bastard to dust!]
‘Haha, calm down, Kurama. If that is what you want I will, naturally, oblige.’
“Seems like today is your lucky day, Naruto. You can have Shukaku.”
Naruto’s eyes widened in surprise, but when he looked where Yuna was previously looking, an annoyed pout appeared on his face.
“Haha, no need to pout, I can give your Kurama the memory of beating Hashirama up after this is over.”
Naruto seemed to ponder about something, before nodding his head in agreement.
“Fine, Kurama agreed, but he isn’t happy about it.”
“Haha, there is nothing I can do about that. Good luck, Naruto.”
“Yeah, good luck, nee-san.”
Yuna left for the top of the stadium, while Naruto stood in front of Shukaku, who has finally grown to his full size with a smirk. The giant Shukaku waved his hand, and a massive amount of sand was shot at Naruto. Naruto frowned a little and simply substituted himself with one of the numerous ice blocks that were still spread through the whole arena.
‘Somehow I don’t think Shukaku is in control. There is no way he would make such a clumsy attack.’
[I agree. Seems like the way Shukaku is sealed inside Gaara is a little different.]
‘That dims down the excitement a little, but whatever. I wonder how I should handle this? That little bit of downtime helped me get back some of my chakra, but I’m still relatively low. Although I don’t like fighting like that, I guess I should try to preserve as much chakra as possible and slowly dwindle Gaara down.’
A mischievous smile appeared on Naruto’s face.
‘As if!’
“[Kuchiyose no Jutsu]”
A toad that was as massive as Shukaku appeared inside the arena, shocking quite a few of the nearby shinobi. Konoha’s shinobi were, naturally, elated when they saw the giant toad. They thought that Jiraiya was here, but they were truly shocked, when instead of Jiraiya, Naruto stood on the giant toad’s head.
“Yo boss, I hope you are ready for a good work-out.”
Gamabunta, who was just summoned by Naruto couldn’t help but be annoyed when he saw Shukaku.
“What the hell brat. I don’t mind helping you, but couldn’t you have chosen an easier target?”
“Haha, sorry, sorry. How about I get you some good booze as compensation?”
“Hahaha, very good brat. You sure know me well. Let’s drink together when this is over!”
Naruto could only smile wryly and nod his head.
‘Well, it was rather chaotic the last time, but in the end, everything turned out fine. It shouldn’t be a problem to drink again, right?’
While Naruto was preparing to fight the transformed Gaara, Yuna made her way up to the top of the stadium. On the way, she met Anko, who was busy slaughtering a bunch of Oto shinobi. As soon as Anko heard what Yuna was planning, she happily decided to follow her.
Moments later, they reached the top and saw two ANBU who were standing in front of the barrier that trapped Hiruzen without doing anything.
‘What the hell are these two doing? Live commentary?’
“Stop, what are you doing up here?”
Yuna couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
‘Seriously, what are these two doing here?’
“I saw the old man trapped inside a barrier with more enemies than he could handle, so I thought that I might as well open up a door into it to help out.”
Before one of the two ANBU could answer her, one of the four people started to speak.
“Hehe, big words. Unfortunately, this [Four Violet Flames Formation] is impossible to break from the outside unless you use overwhelming force, which would put your beloved Hokage in danger. So, all you can do is obediently sit there and wait.”
Yet again, Yuna rolled her eyes and approached the barrier.
“[Supreme Uzumaki Style: Unsealing Art:…”
Kidomaru, the person who just spoke to Yuna, couldn’t help but tense up a little when he heard that it was an Uzumaki technique. After all, the Uzumaki were known for their powerful seals. He was no longer absolutely certain that the seal wouldn’t be broken.
“[…I Don’t Give A Shit About That Kick…Jutsu]”
Yuna casually kicked against the barrier, causing an awkward silence to descend on the area.
One of the ANBU was just about to get angry at Yuna when slight ripples appeared on the barrier and moments later a small entrance was created. She entered it and stood in front of a second barrier. She decided not to play around this time, so she only poked it a few times with her finger to open up another entrance.
“Well, let’s go. I suggest we leave the barriers intact for now since Konoha would take heavy damage otherwise.”
After saying that, she casually strolled inside, closely followed by Anko who didn’t seem to be surprised in the slightest at how easily Yuna opened up a path.
Although it took the two ANBU a while to regain their wits when they did, they quickly passed through the first barrier as well. After passing through it, they could have easily attacked the 4 people keeping the barriers up, but after a while of thinking about it, they agreed to what Yuna just said. Having a Kage-level battle in the middle of Konoha would have devastating consequences.
The Sound-Four, meanwhile, were looking at the two holes inside their barriers completely dumbfounded. What were they even supposed to do now? Was there even a point to keeping the barriers going? They, however, sighed in relief when the two holes closed themselves on their own after a few moments of waiting.
While approaching the four people who were currently having a standoff, a wide smile appeared on Yuna’s face.
“You two can have the Second Hokage. Anko, go have some fun with Orochimaru. I will take the First.”
At first, the ANBU wanted to say something about Yuna casually giving them orders, but when they felt the overbearing pressure oozing not only out of Yuna but Anko as well and saw the battle-thirsty grin on both of their faces, they quickly forgot that idea.
