Chapter 359: Elder Chiyo

Moments later, the group of four reappeared inside Gaara’s office, causing the eyebrows of the present ANBU to twitch in irritation. The first time Yuna teleported in here could still be considered an accident, but by doing so a second time, it was rather apparent that Yuna couldn’t care less that this was one of the most important rooms within Suna.

“Well, I’ve got Tsunade’s two apprentices with me, so escort us to the poisoned people already.”

Although the ANBU weren’t happy about Yuna’s commanding tone, they nonetheless fulfilled her request and led the group to the wounded people.

As soon as Karin and Sakura entered the room with the poisoned people, they started moving in tandem to analyze everyone’s conditions. Additionally, since they learned under the same teacher, they showed a high level of teamwork that made their movements appear incredibly coordinated and purposeful.

While Karin and Sakura started helping people, an old woman with grey hair, black eyes, and a hair bun approached Yuna and Naruto with a disgruntled expression on her face.

“Yuna and Naruto Uzumaki, huh? I honestly wished that neither of you would ever set foot into Suna, especially not at the same time.”

Yuna chuckled in amusement at the old woman’s words and shrugged her shoulders in indifference.

“And yet here we are. I bet you aren’t happy that Tsunade’s apprentices are the ones healing your people either, right, Chiyo?”

The old woman, Chiyo, one of Suna’s elders, gritted her teeth in anger when she heard Yuna’s words. Indeed, she wasn’t happy at all that Suna was getting help from people Tsunade taught. After all, Chiyo considered Tsunade to be her enemy due to how many of her poisons Tsunade analyzed and countered during the Third Shinobi World War. If it weren’t for Tsunade, the war would have gone entirely different for Suna.

While Chiyo was smoldering in anger, Karin approached Yuna with a somewhat worried expression.

“Yuna-sama, Sakura, and I extracted most of the poison, so no one’s life is in danger for now, but we don’t have the necessary quantities of herbs to produce enough antidote to get rid of the last bits of poison still remaining in the patients’ bodies. Additionally, Sakura and I would like to create some spare antidote to prepare for the upcoming fight.”

Yuna pondered what Karin had just said for a short moment before nodding her head in acknowledgment.

“I assume you are asking for permission to take the necessary herbs from the Uzumaki clan’s collection?”

“Yes, Yuna-sama.”

Yuna didn’t need to think long about that and simply nodded her head in agreement. Moments later, a complex array of seals appeared before Karin, which drew quite a bit of attention, but she pretty much ignored all of it. She started writing a few seals, waited a short while inspecting the array, and then wrote some more seals. About a minute later, the seals vanished and were replaced by a bundle of herbs instead, dumbfounding everyone who was watching.

Well, the [Flying Thunder God Jutsu] could transport people, so creating something that could transfer small objects like herbs was naturally a child’s-play for the Uzumaki clan.

Additionally, one might ask why the Uzumaki clan had more herbs stored than the village of Suna, which was answered relatively simply: They needed them to brew all kinds of exotic alcohols.

That’s right, as was previously mentioned, some Uzumaki shifted their ramen addiction to alcohol instead, and none of them were willing to half-ass it.

When Yuna saw Karin going back to work, she nodded in approval and shifted her gaze back to Chiyo.

“Well, I’m sure that you didn’t come here just to complain, right? What can I do for you?”

It took Chiyo a while to get out of the daze she experienced after seeing Karin using such an incredible complex-looking sealing formation, but moments later, she answered Yuna’s inquiry.

“Right, there was indeed something I wanted to discuss with you. One of our enemies this time is Sasori, my grandson. I want to come with you on this mission and help you defeat him.”

Yuna’s eyebrows rose when she heard Chiyo’s words, and her eyes started scanning her body. In conclusion, Chiyo was old. Her body was far from her peak, and her dexterity and reflexes were far away from their optimal condition.

Naturally, Chiyo noticed the doubt in Yuna’s eyes and was not surprised in the slightest. So, she bent her knees and shot towards Yuna, with her hand already reeled back. Yuna casually caught the punch and was just about to make a snide comment on the sudden surprise attack when she had to tilt her head to the side, dodging a few senbons.

Chiyo used the short moment to free her hand from Yuna and jumped backward while flicking her sleeves, resulting in even more senbons flying at Yuna. Yuna’s hands blurred and moved far faster than most people could see, and moments later, she held a stack of senbon needles in her hand, causing Chiyo’s eyes to bulge.

‘What ridiculous reflexes skill and speed. There are only very few who could get out of such a surprise attack from me without a scratch and even fewer who could do so while looking completely unbothered. Additionally, Naruto, who is standing next to her, didn’t even twitch despite my surprise attack against his sister, showcasing how much trust they have for each other.’

Meanwhile, Yuna tossed all but one of the senbon needles she had just caught to the ground while putting the last one in her mouth like a certain Konoha jonin.

“That was a pretty decent surprise attack; you can come with us on this mission.”

Instead of being happy about Yuna’s statement, Chiyo had a somewhat conflicted expression on her face.

“T-That needle is poisoned.”

Yuna scoffed at Chiyo’s words and rolled her eyes at her.

“Obviously. Why else would I have put it into my mouth?”

Chiyo had no idea how she was supposed to answer that. And the fact that Yuna was looking at her like she was a complete idiot for making such an obvious statement wasn’t helping either.

‘I-Is that one of those ‘all the cool kids do it’ moments that I am too old to understand?’

Chiyo glanced at Naruto to confirm whether her guess was accurate or not but considering that he was currently rolling his eyes so hard that they resembled the window of an active washing machine, Chiyo concluded that her guess was wrong.

‘W-Well, it seems like my guess was wrong, and this is simply one of her quirks. After all, she is an S-Rank shinobi, so it would be weird if she didn’t have any quirks.’
