Chapter 214: Fox and Turtle

A few days passed since Yuna returned from her mission with her genins, and she, Hinata, and Anko were currently lazing around in their living room, while Naruto, Ino, and Haku were present as well.

Ino and Haku both went through some changes after they started training inside Yuna’s snowstorm.

Haku’s hair, which was previously pure black, now had a single strand of blue hair in it. This change was a side effect of increasing her understanding of Yuna’s ice. Although this was by no means a permanent change, Haku decided to keep her hair like that to acknowledge Yuna’s support in increasing her strength.

Ino, on the other hand, didn’t have any changes in her appearance at first glance, but as soon as someone met her eyes, they would realize that she had changed as well. They appeared to be much more profound and purer than they previously were, which was a side effect of increasing the strength of one’s soul.

All in all, both of them have significantly increased their strength over the last few months.

After seeing the duo’s improvements, Yuna nodded her head approvingly while simultaneously sighing in relief.

‘Seems like they have more or less reached the limit of the training my snowstorm can provide. Haku has taken her first step towards getting a better understanding of my ice, which will be a good foundation for her own. For now, it would make more sense for her to start meditating about her ice instead of mine. Although she managed to build a good foundation inside my snowstorm, she has to find her own path forward at the end of the day instead of following mine.’

‘Ino, just like Haku, can no longer get much from the intent I left inside the snowstorm. This is not because the intent is too weak, but simply because she has become too used to fighting against it.’

‘Good, that means I no longer need the snowstorm and can use it to create a body for Isobu. Although it will be a bit harder to make it than Kurama’s, since I never exchanged chakra with Isobu, it should work out somehow.’

[Haha, yes! I can’t wait to be able to move around freely!]

[Err, somehow, I don’t think this is a good idea.]

[What do you mean, Kurama? Haven’t you been able to move around independently for quite a while now? Don’t you want me to be free?]

[Urgh…err…I-It’s not like that, Isobu. I just…err…I…]

Yuna couldn’t help but chuckle a little when she heard Kurama struggling with explaining his reasoning to Isobu, but Yuna decided to help him out this time.

‘Haha, don’t worry about it, Isobu. Kurama is just afraid that someone will try to kidnap you when you move around on your own. He is simply overprotective of his little brother.’

[L-Little brother!? Oi, Yuna, stop spouting nons…]

[Ohh! So that’s how it is. Sorry for getting angry with you, big brother Kurama. I will be careful, so don’t worry.]

[*Cough* O-Okay, it’s fine then.]

‘Hehe, critical hit.’

While Yuna, Kurama, and Isobu were bantering with each other inside Yuna’s mindscape, Ino asked Yuna a question.

“Well, you said you wanted to talk to Haku and me, Yuna. How can we help you?”

After hearing Ino’s question, Yuna nodded her head and started talking.

“You two have been training inside my snowstorm for a few months now, and I don’t think you can get much more from it. So, I would like to remove it and use it for something else.”

Ino and Haku casually nodded their heads in acknowledgment when they heard Yuna’s words. Both of them indeed felt like the pace at which they advanced slowed down considerably in the last few weeks, so they didn’t mind that Yuna wanted to remove the snowstorm. Well, it was not like they could do anything about it even if they still wanted to use it.

“In that case, thank you for allowing us to use it for training purposes up until now. It has been a long time since I felt my strength increase at such a rapid pace.”

Instead of saying anything, Haku only nodded her head in agreement. She always thought that there wouldn’t be much more to learn about her ice style, but that theory was unquestionably proven wrong in the last few months. There were still a lot of things she could learn and improve about it.

“Hehe, that’s good. In that case, we will get a new resident soon. Look forward to it.”

“Ohh? Is it finally time to make a body for Isobu, nee-san?”

Hearing Naruto’s words, Ino and Haku’s eyes shone in understanding. As someone very close to Naruto and, consequently, to Yuna, they heard about the real identity of the huge fox that could occasionally be seen lazing around in the Uzumaki compound. It was the Kyuubi, which they recently learned had the name Kurama. Apparently, he got his body by Yuna doing… something… with her snowstorm.

Additionally, they were also told about Yuna taking away the Sanbi from Kirigakure, so they didn’t need to overthink what Yuna wanted to do.

“Hahaha, I really wonder what the rest of the village would think if they found out that not one but two Bijuu are casually strolling through the Uzumaki compound.”

A wry smile appeared on the faces of everyone in the room when they heard Anko’s words, but moments later, Hinata realized something else.

“Now that I think about it, wouldn’t it be even worse if they found out that the seal on Kurama has been removed a long time ago?”

Realizing that Hinata’s words were valid, everyone in the room chuckled a little. After all, there were already two people with an unsealed Kurama and another Kurama that could freely move around. Adding Isobu to the mix wasn’t that much of a big deal at this point in time. There were already three calamities walking around, so why bother about the fourth one?

And so, a few days later, a rather peculiar duo appeared inside the Uzumaki compound.

One was a weird-looking turtle that had a surprisingly long tail. It would walk up to people and ask them to explain certain words that would always have some perverted meaning, resulting in many embarrassing conversations. The worst part was that it would always do so with innocence and curiosity brimming in its voice. All of this combined resulted in it gaining the nickname of “Innocent Shameplay Turtle”.

The other one was the huge fox that has been walking around the Uzumaki compound for a while now. Every time the turtle appeared, the fox would follow shortly after to distract the turtle from asking about perverted things. It was granted the nickname of “Guardian of Innocents”, but a few people saved from the turtle’s interrogation by the fox called it “Savior” instead.
